I was flying home from college for fall break, and I was able to get a direct flight. Most of the time, I fly Delta, so this was a huge change for me. That wing needs a good cleaning or a new paint job
Yes and maybe the missing paint spot seen at 32:48
The classic Air Tran aircraft
One of the best trip reports I ever came across.
Why have i never heard of Melbourne?
This is the same distance as San Fran to Lax that I flew many times before retiring to Florida.
I thought it’s a flight from Australia to US, until I saw the airport code
Plus a 717 ain't flying across the Pacific 😂
If you ever do any spotting at MLB Be careful of the MLB Airport PD. They are not to friendly and that's being nice. When you ask to see what rule or what part of the ASP Say's it they get VERY aggressive.
Thanks for the warning. I hate when they do that
@@ThatAvgeekKid Yeah, they got VERY nasty when I was taking pictures while waiting for family to come in. However, what do you expect it's the MLB Airport PD.
Which flight school is this and how do you get in please
Florida Tech, it's a part 141 university/flight school. You have to apply to the flight major to get in
Hii I was wondering how much it would be to go there for international student. I almost have my PPL but I’m looking to change school
Flight fees should be the same as regular students, I'm not sure about the tuition though. This page should help you out www.fit.edu/student-financial-services/tuition-and-fees/#
i hate when people put the oil stick in to tight
Computer Applications with Prof xie is not for the weak.
I loved it, it was so easy
Ok fair warning, DO NOT GO to Florida Tech unless you have your PPL already. They already cut down our days by 1/3 as compared to last year, and there continue to be major resource issues. It also has taken people I know 1 year + to get their ppl. (even with 2 flying days a week, it shouldn't be longer than a semester.) Cool Video Though!
Yeah, it took me 8 months to get my PPL. But thats because the weather was uncooperative, I know people with the morning flight block got through it faster.
Which flight school do you recommend please
I live in Orlando
Nice btw is that Miami?
Melbourne
You darn FIT students always getting too close in the practice areas! Just kidding (only sometimes)
Fit 24
You really a first year student, don’t worry it gets worse
Clearly you never made it.
as a victim of MLB tower, you sir have gotten a follower
please cut ur damn nails
ayo no way! I move in tmw!
Have fun
Fellow student here, love flying 24ft. My second favorite behind 48N😊
I used to hate 24 before they fixed the engine start problems, but now it's one of my favorites! Same with 48N
Avi here, I installed the new Garmin stack on November! Glad you guys like her so far! I loved the interior. Got two more in the works soon ;) funny this vid was on my feed haha
Imagine being a flight instructor to these RUclips narcissists.
Perfect match for the flight instructors at FIT
what the actual fuck are you guys yapping about he did absolutely nothing except show us what it was like to pursue his dream and show us how he’s achieving it. some people make no sense smh
@@jdoe4983 I certainly care more about flight training than making videos, but if theres a way to do both then why not make it happen. Either way, I don't go out and film every flight I do, and I don't mess with the camera when in critical phases of flight. Sincerely me, Private Pilot
all bro did was video 5 minutes of his day?
Are you a little jealous that this guy is actually making something of his life and sharing his passion?
Hey Lance! Instantly went nostalgic for the early days of training, while watching. I'm down at Vero Beach Skyborne Airline Academy!
hi man, i am about to write my exams and i am hoping to register in this uni... i wanted to know the subjects i needed to do and pass
Not sure why pilots at a school need to be taught pre-calculus... simple algebra and geometry do the job perfectly fine. Also when checking the prop, use a FLAT HAND across the blade so you don't slice your hand open from any sharp knicks, or cracks.
Hi just had one question, what are the ways of like getting to the airport if we don't have a car for example? Does the university provide any sort of transportation? Thanks
There's a shuttle that runs from the campus to the airport every hour
How many classes would you say you have per day? And is that amount manageable
I get to pick each semester. Currently, I have 4 classes. Two meet on MWF, one meets MW, and one meets TR. It's very manageable for me. You can take more courses each semester, but I couldn't fit another one into my schedule.
yoo we go to the same school
I just got accepted as an international student. I saw that they apparently have “aerobatics”as an elective. Do you know anything about that?
I don't know much about it unfortunately, but @JaydenCornwall has a great video about it if you're interested!
Hey randomly got this video and it was actually informative! Hows FIT classes and aviation for you so far? I was thinking about going here or to middle georgia. Thank you!
I really like it here! The professors, classes, and flight program is all great.
And I would recommend that you come in with your private if you can. It will save you so much time and money.
@@ThatAvgeekKidthanks for letting me know the info. I am working on my PPL right now. So just been scouting out a few locations Auburn, Georgia, Florida
Precalc with kovats was so bad
Great video! I too am a huge fan of this great aircraft! I fly this route every summer being I fly to Melbourne, Florida in June for my annual summer vacation in Melbourne, Florida. I live in Southern CA. and I fly out of Ontario International Airport(ONT) via Delta Airlines to fly into ATL. Frem there, I catch a connecting flight into MLB. On the trip back home, it is the exact reverse route. From MLB to ATL. to ONT. The two flights into ATL and back to ATL are flown by this marvelous aircraft, the Boeing 717. I believe it is used as a shuttle craft for the flights back and forth between ATL and MLB. Yeah, MLB is one of the easiest airports that you can navigate in regards to both luggage check-in and the TSA security check like. There are only like 4 or 5 airlines that operate out of there, so the terminal and lines are rarely crowded like the other major international airports. The very first time that I used that airport was in June of 2016, but I used American Airlines because they had a sensational airfare deal on the internet. So I took advantage of it! But the norm for me is using Delta Airlines regularly to Central Florida in the summer. They are my personal preference and plus they primarily use that 717 between ATL and MLB as I mentioned. I used to live in Central Florida, specifically Satellite Beach, Florida as a child in elementary school from 1969 to 1971. We lived there because my late father was in the Air Force and was stationed out at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Cape Canaveral, Florida. But we actually lived in the old Patrick AFB south housing units, the base being in Satellite Beach, Florida. Only badged and uniformed personnel are allowed out at The Cape, which is why my mother and us kids had to live in Satellite Beach. So my dad had to commute out to The Cape from Satellite Beach when he reported for duty. We left Florida in 1971 and moved to Southern CA. where my dad was stationed and have been here ever since. But I come back to Central Florida every summer in June as I said being I am a huge NASA fan and love the pristine beaches out there. I went out there for the first time since we left in the summer of 2000 in July for my first vacation there. But I flew into Orlando International Airport because back then I had no idea that Melbourne. Florida had their own airport. All the other years that I went there I used Orlando International as I said. But I have used Melbourne International(MLB) consecutively since 2016 when going to Florida in the summertime now that I know they exist. I will never used Orlando International again to travel to Central Florida unless they were to close MLB for some reason. This airport is never as crowded as Orlando because it is nowhere as near as large as it is. I tell anyone who wants to travel to the Central Florida area to use MLB instead of Orlando International to avoid all of the stress and headaches that airport can bring. So like I said, you can expect to encounter near empty terminal buildings and small check-in and TSA lines at this medium-size airport. Even the lines at the rental car counters are relatively short. The only drawback as far as using this airport is you have to use the specific airlines that operate out of it. Not all of them fly there. Delta, America, Allegiant, and an international airline called TUI are the only ones that service that airport to my knowledge. So I hope you found this encounter with MLB interesting and enjoyable. I absolutely love it!
Sun Country also has seasonal service to MLB.
Oh! I wasn't aware of that! Thank you!@@tpajay
