That’s what the club should be trying to achieve now not just let’s just hope for the best
Best player we have ever had fantastic player wish we had one now
Brilliant player
Not a Barnsley fan but enjoyed these videos with heroes of your club and I think every club needs to do something like this, record some memories and thoughts of past greats, they won't be around forever and some of the history will be lost with them.
Brilliant player
I was only 8 when Allan Clarke came to us but I still remember the back end of the Jim Iley period. Clarke transformed the club, was more professional and gates doubled, a change for Barnsley in that we’d a few bob to spend and thank goodness we did or we might not have seen Ronnie in action the main guy in a top side. For a midfielder to get as many goals as he did was phenomenal, my favourite goal was one he got in a 3-0 win against Burnley, he got the ball from just outside our area laid it off and then went on a 80 yard gut busting run but still had the presence to dink the ball over the keeper when he got the ball in the Burnley box. Thanks for the memories Ronnie they are so cherished.
Lisa's husband, Andy here. I remember the goal against Liverpool very well. Colin did a great job filling in for the brilliant Derrick Parker when Wednesday crocked him for the season. Colin had a good eye for goal but was a little on the slow side, this is probably hampered him from going further in the game as a player. Top bloke, and his performance against Luton at home in '82 stood out.
Lisa's husband, Andy here. A great player in Barnsley's greatest ever team. I remember someone criticising his performance once in the old 'main stand' and his mum who happened to be sitting near him gave the heckler a right roasting. 🤣
This guy was such a nice man. He became a very close family friend in Gisborne , New Zealand. Scored some of the best goals I've ever seen. Mum just caught up with him 2 days ago. He seriously should have been better than what happened.
It's a brain rattler trying to put names to these players.
Lisa's husband, Andy here. Ronnie was the best player in the finest Barnsley team ever!!! For a couple or so years you rarely came away from Oakwell miserable. My Nan used to say, "did they win?" and invariably I said "yep". Great times.
Legend
I'm 65, love football and this looks such a good idea

How do you get into Barnsley fc u14s team
Legend!
If it hadn't been for Spackman he would have likely been at Oakwell til the day he died
Walking?
What a lovely guy I remember him from Longcar Central School .. a hero of mine in those early days RIP Eric ... Syd Aust.
RIP Eric ♥️
RIP Eric ❤🤍❤
Sad to hear today of Eric's passing. I remember my first season as a young kid in 1967-68 watching him dominate the defence & leading us to promotion that year. Every time we won a corner we shouted "Winnie, Winnie" with arms punching the air. Wonderful he was Danny Wilson's coach when we got promotion to the premier league. Mr Barnsley.
Rip Barnsley legend
Lots of running going on there
Great to see the legend but can barely hear him for the totally unnecessary piano music constantly playing over the top of it all. Please get rid of it and the interview will be 100% better
T'old Ronnie. Used to see him regular when I was a lad. Lived near me. Always had time for you. Top man, brilliant player.
Hero
RIP John, used to love chatting with you in Cawthorne club
I remember Adie's first game up at Boro' like it was yesterday Indeed a very cold day, in fact it had been cold for around a week or more and we expected the game to be called off Sammy's brother Geoff was over from Germany doing his Auf Wiedersehen, Pet impersonation and he drove the car up......I was front seat passenger co-pilot / navigator but through gassing on the way I missed the turning and he was driving that quick, we were soon turning around in Newcastle back down the A1 The game was called off with the REDS being 2-1 down but the game should never have kicked off.......we got vouchers on our way out to come up to the re-arranged fixture unfortunately for Geoff he went back to Germany, so I believe Paul 'Ozzie' Harrison (God rest him) had the voucher for the Tuesday night match......did we win 2-1 ? Great days
Absolute legend , one of the very best players this club's ever had and took us on that journey to the PL . There aren't enough superlatives you can give Redders . Captain Fantastic
Get that background music off! FGS
Been watching Emma a lot but how does this not have any recognition?
Why isn't this more popular?
Almost brought me to tears. Wonderful memories from arguably Barnsley’s greatest ever player.
Ronnie should have been at Celtic a lot longer than he was, I was gutted when he left.
Barnsley are a big club. I think they could get back into the English Premier one day. Hello. I support Scottish football, and Welsh football, and have a request from English football. Please can you play cross border competitive cups between club sides from Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, and Ireland. This would enable the Celtic club sides to grow bigger and get higher attendances, tv rights and sponsorship deals. I do NOT support merging the Scottish, Welsh and English leagues together. As that would destroy our football identity and history. My idea would be a best of both worlds, where we have cross border British cups on top of our domestic and European soccer. Uefa and FIFA have allowed the Scottish to have English, Welsh, and Irish sides in the Scottish Challenge Cup. So this would be allowed. It would do no harm to English soccer, but would enable the Celtic club sides to grow. So it would be be kind by England. Imagine games like Dundee United v Man City, Luton Town v Holywell Town, Aberdeen v Newport County, Manchester Utd v Connahs Quay Nomads, Inverness CT v Cork City, Ross County FC v Wrexham, Glasgow Celtic FC v Cardiff City, Barnsley v Dundee, Glasgow Rangers v Liverpool, and Falkirk FC v Everton.
No idea why they don't do it. I've often thought about it myself. Scrap the League Cup, turn it into an official British championship.
Lisa's husband, Andy here. I am a Barnsley fan. I totally agree with you, I have been to watch a few games at both Hearts and Berwick Rangers when I've been on holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the footy. We should help each other. OK, maybe European qualifiers should be exempt but the rest of us are free for some cross border entertainment.
Told u ud get a few players is ur shadow squad like man city u16s shadow team or no
Adam hammill what a player he was premier league quality in my opinion
