The water should be coming from the lower part,that way it will fill up completely and you wont have air bubbles.
How did you design it for thermal shock det? Nicely done
It's just ETN put in layers of aluminium foil search it up a bit and you will find out how to do it

Does PETN do the same thing? Maybe w/ slightly greater confinement and a particularly hot deflegrant?
Very nice, earlier on I tried to make a small batch for the first time. It was an absolute cluster fuck. Since i don’t have a magnetic stirrer and also didn’t realise you had to cool and add the ingredients slowly, i though it would suffice to just stir by hand for an hour or too and I also though it would suffice if I just dumped all the sulfuric acid directly onto the KN03, as soon as I did that it started smoking a lot, it caught me off guard for a few seconds which is all the time it needed to heat up some more, I tried too cool it and stir it in an ice bath but the temp stayed at a steady 30c which is massively over, the texture was also very very thick and my little thermometer was on the brink of breaking from stirring it all, so after not even 10 minutes I called it quits. I washed it to see if I even got a yield and I think I got around .05 grams. It was safe to say that it was an absolute failure. But a good one since I know what not to do next time. I’m also gonna get a magnetic stirrer as well. But yeah just though I would share this disaster so that hopefully someone may learn from my mistakes.

Nitrate ions + Erythritol = etn
add 10 grams cocanine to 100 ml sulfuric acid and 69 ml nitric acid
What's the fuming nitric to sulfuric mixture? And how much Erythritol to that

Ammonium sulfate is soluble in water and ETN isn't

Sadly no, I was just using an inverted funnel gas trap

Looks discolored most likely the dye from your H2SO4 did you recryst? If not its highly recommended also what would you be using as a primary i would recommend AgNTz
I got a distillation setup now so I am using nitric acid, so my product is like Snow White and seems to be the right density
I was looking into TACP, TACN ,azides, DDNP, ect. I did make some TATP and I do know how dangerous it is but I plan on being super cautious
@@dr.boommcdetonation3251 yeah i wouldn't recommend organic peroxides. I think your best bet may be CHP or NHN looking at availability of reagents. But if you want a very reliable primary tetrazoles are the way to gp
