Agreed, for those who know the film and love it and admire it, it encapsulates and emphasies the joys and wonders of it. This is a film about all the manifestations of love, and it responds to the anti-love that was 9/11 (even though love was present even there as Hugh Grant as British PM reminds us). Richard Curtis tries to hide the divinity and genius and Godliness of this film with moments of crudity, but nobody is fooled. The Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Truth, love, forgiveness and mercy) helped create this film, and lives on it, showing us how things should be and can be. Check out the jewellery-buying scene with Rowan Atkinson and the late, lamented and loved Alan Rickman and you will see the religiousn meaning closest to the surface. But it perfuses and suffuses the whole film, as of course it would, since it is Love, actually... And God is love.
