Nice ride along Barry. Thanks.
bro the lids…
Nice tour of the fall colors! Thanks for the ride along Barry. Good to see you out and about!
Some really great Classics there! Love the Thunderbirds and that 58 Ford retractable hard top. Thanks Barry, hope you are doing well.
Thanks for watching Donny I haven't be well all this year I been in and out of hospitals and still haven't yet but try and get there when I can.
@@monarch1957, sorry to hear that you haven’t been feeling well, praying it’s nothing serious but know it’s frustrating not being well. Wishing better health soon for you Barry.
Nice,, 2024 here in S Calif
Nice video and thanks for not adding any goofy music to it
Thanks I try to rcord wenn they take a break from the goofy music as much as possible.
Do ever flood the carburator?
A nice video indeed! No silly jokes and no expletives.
Nice to look at a video without expletives. Very nice!
My aunt moved to High River recently.
Good to see you back at it Barry. I rarely got to be up close to Calgary's skyline the times I've visited.
Thanks for watching. I been spending a lot of time in the High River H ospital.
I did have some problems breakin one of them but went to the junk yard and save some good ones for spares the same color and used a screw driver to carefully pry them off.
how did you take off the cover plate to the screws on the pull handle of the interior door? Do they end up breaking then u have to glue them back on? I am having a time taking mine off, just haven't done it yet til i find more information on how they come off without breaking them.
It’s hard to find the big Mercs that actually have the cornering lights. This car is gorgeous😍
Thankyou it was found in a California junkyard as the owner passsed on and the family didn,t want it so sold it to them.
I'm pretty sure I'm late but whatever the speakers protection relay needs to be replaced that's a very common problem with Sony's over time it gets corroded and because it's a sealed unit you can't clean it with contact cleaner you have to replace it entirely and that's a very big job you have to basically take apart the whole entire unit to pieces
Thank you . This was very informative & interesting. 👍
RARE. Especially power vent windows. Looks like a 6 passenger model. Also rare.
Pump that😊 leg. Need more thigh
When I hear things like that, it makes me want to give up driving my car.
Your gas prices are insane. They are bad enough here so don't drive very far anymore.
Very nice video my friend!!!!
Thankyou.
Lets see under dash horn button, old 8 track, cb radio and is that an old car phone. Things I see.
Only ever saw one of these even in period.
Actually, that is a Meteor Montcalm. Also a gorgeous car. 😃
Very nice looking car.
My neighbours had a 60 Pontiac, when I was young here in Winnipeg . I'm pretty sure that it had a 261 cid straight six to go along with the three on the tree standard . Pontiacs weren't considered too fancy here in Canada , pretty much a Chevy . Sixes and 283's were dime a dozen . My uncle had a 68 Poncho with a 327 . That seemed fairly punchy for the day . The 283 or six banger 2 speed Power Glides were dogs .
Mr. Incredible
I'm wondering your video on the Canadian monarch the 2 57s those were my grandpa's I'm wondering if you have any more pictures of them
No it wasn't it came fron A J Madden back in the 80's a Calgary car.
@monarch1957 no the old old video of you explaining about the Canadian Monarchs that black and white lucernce and the pink and white turnpike
Does the car still have the original battery? I remember seeing your car last year at a show and shine. It’s a beautiful car. You take very good care of it. You also drive it, it’s not a trailer queen. I wish more guys would drive their vintage rides.
4th heading to FlariDuh view tmrw
Fascinating cars those Canadian Pontiacs. Basically the entire frame, chassis and drivetrain are Chevrolet Impala (real American built Pontiacs in those years had their own engines and completely different frames with longer wheelbase and design. The dashboard is from the American models but the rest of the interior is all Chevrolet Impala. While the body looks the same as an American model at first glance only only the roof, doors, quarters and bumpers are interchangeable. The rest looks similar but are not interchangeable. Interestingly the Canadian cars had a 119” wheelbase (Chevrolet) while the American Catalina was122”. This is why the Canadian models look like the rear wheels are mounted too far forward. Because of the Canadian climate there are very few remaining Canadian Pontiacs, especially in original condition. The 396 that year was only offered in a low compression 2bbl carb form, rated at 265 horsepower it was designed to offer more torque than the 350’s but to run on regular fuel, a good choice for towing in the day.
Do you have any bro on who owned this car? I own it now and am trying to track down the history. Thanks!
No I'm sorry I don't I didn't see the owner there it was at a car show.
Wow, your car starts.
👍👍👍👍
Is this a Montclair or Monterey?
Montclair.
The mighty Mercs come alive! Sweet! Thanks Barry. Wish I still had some of my cars from the 50’s. Especially the two Lincolns I had ie a 1956 and a 1959. I also had a 50 Mercury. Happy New Year, wishing you the best, always enjoy your videos.
I'm glad that you viwed the Video of the Mercurys have a happy new Year.
Does the 8 track player still work? I hear the radio still blares away. Oh the radio works in the other car too!
Yes the 8 track still works good.
@@monarch1957 awesome 👌
Check out the drive in my 59 Edsel!
Unbelievably Beauuutiful!💕
I started out life using the imperial system. Heck, I was still in diapers when Canada switched to the metric system.Go figure. It's been only recently that I've adjusted to the metric system. Yes we sure had some nice weather out here instead of the pouring rain we usually get.
It's hard to adjust to the metric system I adapted better than my mom she just could not adjust to the new system I had to keep converting temperatures for her.
Wish I could have joined you. You talk very nice!
I went to one community gathering in that area. Actually the older part of downtown during the summer. So I don't think there is no annual Christmas parade happening in Mission this year.
Chilliwack has a parade every year usually 1st Saturday of December.
A lot of great places to ride bikes out there.
Yes there is. But winter is getting in the way now.
I haven't been in the area for over 8 years now. Looks like Okotoks has grown quite a bit. Yes, I remember the baseball stadium. The Okotoks Dawgs! Right?
Yes it is Dave. Okotoks is 30,000 people now.
@monarch1957 really. When I first visited Okotoks the pop was around 22,000.
I came across one of those still in operation while on a houseboat excursion in the early '90s.
Yes, that grinding like noise was unusual. Something similar happened to my Dad's 1982 Chevy pickup when we were heading towards Edmonton in 1994. Turns out that it was something up with the drive shaft. We thought he had it fixed but turns out it ended up doing the same thing on the way back home. We had to camp on the side of the Yellowhead at a rest area for the night. Good thing that we had a camper with us.
Grrr, speeder after speeder. Reminds me of the Lougheed Hwy between Hatzic and Deroche 🤨
To me it looks like a Cressida dressed upto the nines.
The Dashboard Resembles The Grill ❤ It.😊
I just ❤ this Vehicle All Around 😊
Always enjoy ride alongs when you drive the Merc and can see some of the dash. Another interesting ride with great narrative . Thanks Barry.
Glad you like it Donny.
