    Thank you for posting! Saves hooking up the old VHS player... This is one of my 3 favourite concert films of all time... Elvis That's The Way It Is, The Band's The Last Waltz and Lindisfarne Another Fine Mess... In all 3 the musicians seem so at home it feels like you're watching them perform from their living room! My favourite part from this is during Road To Kingdom Come when Alan, during the song goes for a pint, combs his hair, has a tab and is back on guitar and vocals for the end chorus! I missed this concert unfortunately but saw them 18 months earlier, Christmas 93 on this very same stage as my first concert aged 12... It's hard to believe Alan was gone 4 months after this... Shine on bonny lad...

    Funny... I always thought of Lindisfarne as a 'folk-rock' band... would never have thought of 'em as a 'blues band'... BUT after having learned to play a little blues myself, I find that the more I listen to them, the more I can hear the blues influence in their music! But then again, the old blues dudes used to say, "The blues is the roots... the rest is the fruits!" 😁 'Onya Lindisfarne! H'away the lads! 😁🖖👋👋👋👍👍👍👏👏👏

    And one of the greatest bands in the world in concert. I actually prefer the less perfect and polished stuff... I like my Lindisfarne hell for leather and "nicely out of tune".

    Saw Lindisfarne in 1974 in Philadelphia at Irvine Auditorium, University of Pennsylvania. Remember having a conversation with my friends on the way walking to the gig, like how the analogy would go as far as the "Eric Clapton or Jimi Hendrix" question as asked between Lindisfarne and Fairport Convention, my answer was Both And, and so here we are. As a violin player in both the larger and smaller context I play in my kitchen and hearing this takes me back to that time, and more generally, to the way of these things happen through and in time, the same thing as hearing a song remembered, but then heard once again, hearing a song Lady Eleanor. It's Alright; I'm alright here in your Love. Hearing this, I extend a thank you for posting this concert.

    My first impression as someone not so much younger than these guys is, they look SO MUCH older than they actually are. I'm sure Alan Hull and company had a lot of fun in their youth but nobody should die of old age at 50. Drinking yourself to death is neither glamourous nor pleasant.

    these are cool tho (lindesfarne) like: did i miss them somehow during the 70s 80s? God speed anyway ps this is REALLY hard music... The timing, the instrumentalsim and even the lyrics are toungue twisting at times.. this band, despite looking like MASSIVE MASSIVE hippies back in the 70's... is a highly taught set up exelent music Gs (interesting facts: lindesfarne, community of ethnically saxon 'monks' maybe 'hosted' england's (northumbria's) first MAJOR MENTALLE TRAUMA when hordes of extra-violent,pillgaing/slaughtering and raping norsers (vikings) began their fixation with the island.

    I think Alan Hull died the year of this concert. I never saw Lindisfarne , but I saw a few of his solo concerts. Dave Denholms constant arm waving was quite annoying, I wonder if he's still doing it. in supermarkets and such.

    • @johnholt9399
      @johnholt9399 3 года назад

      He is actually now a good lead singer for the band not Alan, but still worth seeing if he wasn’t talented the likes of Rod wouldn’t play with him

    • @johnholt9399

      Furthermore it is Marty not David who is virtually anonymous at the back who is doing all the arm waving
