Before and Afters of Pop Up Camper Remodel
This video shows before and after pics of a pop up camper I bought and remodeled. I am not a professional at anything, I just love redoing old things or building new things. I am also not the greatest at making videos,,,, sorry just hope it helps.
The camper was in worse shape than I thought when purchased. I completely gutted to the frame and redone the inside to fit what we liked. I didn’t want any water on the inside since most of this camper had water damage. Mostly where we stay is at lake campgrounds with showers and bathrooms so it wasn’t needed for us but may be for you.
Make and design what works for you and your family. I just hope that maybe this will help someone with some idea...

In this video I have the camper 90% complete for us where we are able to use it camping. This remodel has been from the frame up on a Coleman Niagara pop up camper. This camper had a lot of water damage so all particle board was replaced with water sealed wood. I know everyone has their own preferences for their own campers,,,,, this was mine for what fit our family the best. To each their own ...

In this video I added new paneling for my pop up camper walls. The walls that were in the camper were water damaged so I removed them all. I used a jigsaw to cut the paneling using the old as templates. This video just show s the walls put up in the camper.

I bought a 2000 Coleman Fleetwood Niagara that I am completely redoing for family camping trips. In this video I removed the slide out in order to lay a complete new plywood floor down. The camper has water damage on the old floors from the hot water heater, shower area, and under the sink so I opted just to replace the entire floor 🤷🏻‍♀️ I am using 3/4 in plywood that I got for a really good d...

    Good evening. You did a wonderful job restoring your box. I too am in the midst of this. Do you know or remember the dimensions of the original front wall of the box that you used for a template? Mine was destroyed. I need the height, width and thickness of that piece. Thoughts?

      Question...I replaced my floor... but.....I'm confused on how far out or more so, how the side panels attach? Do the sides go flush with the frame or does it over lap? Or is there supposed to be a small gap with the wood floor showing??? Thank you!

      I hope yours is not as bad. lol. I took the old cabinets apart (even the water damaged) and just used them as templates to cut new. I tried to keep them made as close to the original due to knowing it all already fit. That was the most tricky was still being able to make sure the beds could slide over whatever was built. I hope yours goes well and good luck 😉

    How thick is the click-lock flooring? Any problems closing the slide out? Getting ready to do new flooring in a 99 Niagara.

    • @Just_Makin_It
      @Just_Makin_It 8 месяцев назад

      I just used what I could afford. It’s just the cheapest I could get from Lowe’s. (But I actually liked the color better anyhow). Just standard thickness. When you take your slide out out (I think I have a video of that) you’ll see that you can raise or lower it from the rolling bases. It actually never touches the floor so I was good there. The only thing you may have to modify is the board or cover that goes across the slide out that covers the underneath. (If you even have to do that). I didn’t put the flooring all of the way under the slide out either that way it didn’t raise the height. Once you put your trim on it will cover the edges. Kinda hard to explain but will make more sense once you begin on it.

    We have Al ost the same trailer unless this is a 99 Cole an Niagara Elite with severe water damage and in the area where the water heater is. We were going to sell ours but decided to keep and repair as we seriously don’t have a place of our own to live in right now. This trailer has saved us. So she deserves it.

    • @Just_Makin_It
      @Just_Makin_It 7 месяцев назад

      I bought the Bondo from Walmart in the automotive section. (Not the fiberglass) it wasn’t hard to sand, just time consuming. I’m picky on stuff, so I just kept layering and sanding until I got it to where it matched up well.

    What problems did you have with the plastic outer pieces?

    • @Just_Makin_It
      @Just_Makin_It Год назад

      Sorry for such a late response. I just had trouble single handedly trying to get the outside plastic back on and all lined up to match the main body. Everything is easier with two people. Also when I built the wooden box, I didn’t have a good template to go by because it was literally destroyed so I was guessing on some and my measurements were off for the plastic. I had to shave some off for the box to fit good inside the plastic. It was just a pain for me by myself at times.

    Following your progress 😊. Pondering redoing the cabinets in mine . May just prime and paint with turbine hvlp sprayer that can pull off factory finishes . Trying to keep the weight down so the particle board ( which s in fair shape ) doesn’t concern me to much . Also I have a few holes ( half dollar ) here and there in the screen, and canvas etc etc . Otherwise everything else is pretty solid . Ohhhhhh except the top which is beyond me why they chose pvc I’m guessing . Horrible etc etc

    • @Just_Makin_It

      I used Speedokote products that they have on their website. The particular one I used was the T-Rex White Bed Liner. This came with the activator, mixing cup, and spray gun also. It was very easy to use. I bought 2 kits to cover the roof (which mine was in very bad shape). So far so good 👍 You can receive a small discount for your 1st order through them, but it did help.

      I’m not sure how big the Alpine is. Honestly I would do 2 kits which is 8 bottles just to be safe. I know it’s pricey but I have been working on ours after heavy rain and this stuff worked!! I am planning on saving up and adding an extra layer later on just for peace on mind. Mine is about 8ftx12ft and 2 kits did cover it,,, I would just like extra protection around the A/C I don’t know how your ceiling is inside but mine was horrible and cracked. It is also ABS plastic. Im making a video using flex seal on it, just rolling on and I believe that would have also covered the top well. It was $100 a can at Walmart but I love how it made the ceiling look and feel.
