This video DID NOT go to plan... I went to the Dubai Expo 2020 and it was insane! I was so inspired by the exceptional pavilions, however, some definitely disappointed me. However, after about 1 hour of filming, I had to cut the video short because I felt like I was about to faint. When things don't go to plan - you adapt to circumstances! So this video is definitely an adapted narrative but no...

    Bar none this man is thee worst supericially, nonsensical, self agrandising and astonishingly petty architect and professor I have had the misfortune to know or ever hear a horror story about in the business and education system. An absolute blight who takes every opportunity to take a bow for literally contributing nothing to the industry or profession.

    As with ALL things that are funny ALL are true. Architects post WW2 no longer create beauty. Buildings and realms not worth caring about. And the public are told we should revere such atrocities adding insult to injury. And as an architect if you really want to make a name for yourself AND gain the public's adoration? Get a structure built based on classicism, symmetry, and the golden number. It will be an object people will naturally gravitate towards and fight to preserve for the ages.

    • @NYBornAndRazed
      @NYBornAndRazed 6 месяцев назад

      Personally, I find beauty in modernism. There’s a purity to the simplicity of material, and wanting that alone to speak, without losing that to a bunch of excessive ornamentation. However, it can be devout of any human culture and can be too sterile. The association with corporate architecture doesn’t help it much either. While I appreciate it, I think it’s antiquated, and there is a humanistic element currently missing in architecture. However, I don’t think we should just revert to even more antiquated architecture. Respectfully, classicism has its time, it even had a revival, but it’s done, just like modernism. Good architecture should be an extension of human culture, which is ever evolving, therefore so much the architecture. The world doesn’t need another big glass phallus any more than it needs another pseudo Greek building w ionic columns and alabaster statues. Humans, art, and culture in general shouldn’t move backwards to go forward. I’m an arch student, so that prob shapes my pov.
