How many hours? 3 years passing isnt the same as working on it every day for 3 years.
🔥
Yo you still mixing for people??
I just received some hand scribbled mix notes for a FIRST REVISION mix and instead of just giving notes, the client claims that I went in and selected the worst possible takes on purpose (their words note mine) and that I need to sit myself down and ask myself why I would do such a thing…
@lo.spirit Just wanted to thank you for the music you write and the recommendation. I would never have listened to her on my own. Her song "Little Girl Gone" is fricking awesome, especially the part where she says "Say that again, I didn't quite hear you."
This was a great listen. Corey is the man. 💪🏽
Thanks so much for having me on dude, it was a blast getting to chat! 🤟🏻

Ben is truly the best. Mentored me for years! Loved this interview
He was such a great conversation! We gotta have you on sometime soon as well Gian!
I’ve been using it lately and I LOVE IT
That’s awesome! What have you been using it on?
@@HomeStudioHangout mainly using the Neve MBT going into the Neve MBP for my masters to add Blue and Red silk, super light compression (if any at all), and some top end! Maybe some widening but I barely touch it and if I do, I use the SFE on the MBP. Then I bring the mixes back in the box to do some clipping, Oxford Inflator for some more loudness, Soothe 2 and small EQ touches with Pro-Q3, and then my final limiter. I know pros say you should outsource your mastering, but I like the results I’m getting with this workflow!
@@officialdiomer That's awesome! I think in today's world, being able to master on your own can bring more value to the people you work with and keep budgets a little more in an affordable range as well! Love the use of analog EQ you mentioned to add that extra touch to the tracks!
Thanks for having me on sir
Will have to do it again sometime!
I’m so glad I found this! I’m a guitarist who started to produce seriously during covid. And for the past 2 years, I’ve absolutely hated playing guitar on anything and this is a really interesting perspective!
That’s awesome! Do you feel like it helped you shift your perspective a little?
@@HomeStudioHangout definitely. I can’t wait to get into the studio this evening and open up the projects I’ve been stalling for 2 years 😂
Harper is the best!
He was so much fun to have on!
This video and conversation was so awesome you guys! I got this recommended and I realized why at 12:12 bc I’m currently making a video on the Strokes ITI vocal chain 😂 I almost want to buy an Avalon 737sp just for that driven vocal!!
So glad you enjoyed it and got some stuff out of it! 🙏
Thanks again for having me on the show fellas! 🤝
🙏
7:35 spent most of my life up until my mid-30s putting all my self worth into my musical abilities. It’s a monster
The industry is ruthless sometimes
@@HomeStudioHangout oh ya, after playing “hired gun”/musical mercenary in Nashville for ten years I was like “oh ok I think I’m done now.” 8 years later I’m trying to carve out something new and true to myself. Trying to remember how to enjoy making music. I’d say again, but there was always the ulterior motive of “getting something more” from whatever I tried to create. I will say that, the “fuck it, why not” mentality has finally started to set in and I’m finding much more freedom to create and less shame about the things I’m creating. The shame and imposter shit isn’t gone, but the volume is decreasing at least.
@@Turtlpwr good to hear you are getting back at it though and re-finding the love for it!

Very interesting to hear all of this. Thanks for sharing, guys!

i don't see it being any different as RUclips with their minimum subscribers/watchtime requirements. the people who are most likely going to be "wiped out" by this most likely wouldn't be making that much money form streams. Also that 0.5% is another 15 million that will go back into the artist royalty pool.
Yea the more I’ve thought about it the more it makes sense. Especially those that are used to the RUclips monetization stuff
yeah cause Peter McKinnon did a video when they rolled it out on YT where he showed the stats for his channel at that time period, and he was making about $20 a month from adsense, so his perspective is that it would weed out anyone whos not taking it seriously and make room for the people who are @@HomeStudioHangout
Good show guys! Just some additional info here, we collaborated with Shure on the SM7dB through licensing our patented Cloudlifter circuitry, which they then tuned for specifically for the mic. Also, you mentioned our ribbon mics, which isn't a 44 clone but rather modern mic inspired by that platform. The Cloudlifter was originally designed as the active circuit for our 44A, but has proven useful for low output dynamics like the SM7B and many others. So the SM7dB really brings it full circle in a cool way. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for the info! I had a hunch that you guys might be involved with the new update so it’s cool to see that get encompassed into the system! As far as the 44a I’m stoked to get a couple and try them out on some tracking sessions! Thanks again for the love! ❤️
thanks WAYNE
