i as a acc player was taught to play the bass side in staccato unless the song called for f clef legato on f clef. also was always not to slur notes. bad bad.

Hi, I am a beginner accordion player. I have experience with guitar and banjo, no piano experience though. I have a good ear and can find melodies on the keyboard easily. But, I do not want to develope bad habits. Is it important to hit particular keys with specific fingers? I don’t want to learn a song only to have to unlearn the fingering in order to play it correctly. Thanks
