Milo Harvest has Started
Просмотров 5393 месяца назад
Welcome to the beginning of fall harvest on the Plains of Southeast Colorado. We have been rolling steady for a week now on Milo with about two weeks left to go. Drought has really affected the 2024 crop as we have received no more than five inches of rain during the growing season with the majority coming early on in the season. Thank you all for watching.

I used the last hour of the 8RX demo to go on a subway run! With spring around the corner it’s time to get some irrigation going on the winter wheat.

Starting the year off by putting on some nitrogen in the form of anhydrous ammonia. I am running a John Deere 2510H high speed anhydrous bar and pulling two 4000 gallon tanks.

Welcome to my daily life as a farmer/rancher in Southeast Colorado. We primarily raise wheat, grain sorghum, and mix in some Corn acres here and there. Join me on this journey to show a side of agriculture that doesn’t normally get the spotlight!
“ We don’t have much water.” Two wells producing 600 gallons. Brother live got 4 wells producing less than 200 gallons
Thanks Zach for explaining what you're doing
good to see a new video Zach !
He’s back
You must be near Garden City!
Hey Zach I just wanted to say I love Colorado i love my home town near Utah
Zach. Extra horsepower aside, how do you rate your 2track against your new 4track?
Amazing job Zach
Nice
*Fantastic video! That tractor looks absolutely stunning.* 👍🚜
*Love your video Zach*
Awesome, cheers mate, from Australia 🤘👍👊🏻
Great video Zach - appreciate you explaining everything that you are doing
Ohhhhhh come on now pathway ag makes it easy to kill those weeds.
Why not go round and round. A couple cross passes to start out gives the grain cart access to different parts of field.
S680 is a monster in clean wheat but man is that rethrasher a pain in the weeds haha. We have had that center delivery roller bearing go out a couple times kinda a pain taking the draper belt off. Yall have a safe harvest!!
If you have a fire in the front end or in the feederhouse, wouldn't it be better to keep on cutting and drive the fire out the butt end of the machine.
I'd like to see those combines running 60 foot Honeybee heads on that level ground. Not sure if the 60 footer is hinged or it just flexes. Thanks for the video.
What are you seeding after wheat on the same fields, what Is the best crop?
Watching you out here in Zambia
Thanks for sharing the start of harvest '23 with us!
Thanks. Always fun for an old Iowa farmer to see what the folks a few counties over are up to.
35 psi? Seems like an awful lot. I'd want it to be fairly dry.
My maiden name was Haase. My dad grew up in LaVeta ,CO. Hehad a twin brother named Kendal. Ring any bells?
How in the heck do ya’ll raise corn where you’re located I would never dream you had enough rainfall ?
How much acres do you have? I am a farmer in austria (arnold schwarzenegger😅) and i have 75 acres field and 110 acres forest and i am a big farmer here. Thats only a weekend job for you i think 😅 😂. And how big is your biggest field?
Nice
dude, awesome editing, just super easy to watch. moving to CO soon from IL. Hoping for another farm gig. This is exciting stuff. Keep em coming!
Thank you I appreciate it! Where at in CO?
@@zachhaasedenver area.
Actually john deere makes a 54 row planter.
Only on 20” spacing so it’s a 90’ unit
Nice video!
Thank you!
ah Fendts so good and ez to set :DDDD
LSW tires from Titan tires would be even better, on the road and in the field.
8RX is 👑
Never seen a sprayer like that before
Glad someone’s out here representing for the the eastern CO/ wester KS desert
TOTAL DEVASTATION
In my opinion it is definitely a no no having tanks with valves on the front though they may be protected and it helps with efficiency pulling two tanks at a time. If an apprentice tries coupling two single tanks and backs into the rear one it could be a disaster. But if you’re a pro then he’ll yes front valves instead of top valves all the way
Could you share the stated drawbar horsepower of both tractors and differential in list price between the two. Thanks!
Awesome video that is a sweet looking tractor
yes
Fendts are notorious for being poor pullers for their horsepower, and the tracks are so much better for pulling than those rowcrop tyres.
Why you don't use subirrigation? It is much more efective..
Agree ... but much more expensive to install
what is this location?
South east Colorado
Watching while I myself am planting barley here in Idaho.
Why do you think that people want to spend 15 minutes watching your face whne they are interested in agriculture
You don't like it then don't watch
Tires make bounce. No bounce in the tracks. That would be my guess on your “smooth” ride in the Deere
Might be running at lower rpm , but your be saving fuel with the rx because your losing time with the less traction on the challenger,
think about what your said..... Its all about Gallons per hour or G/A. If his speed is the same in the RX with 1% slip, vs the Challenger at 10%, then hes not losing time. Also, His tire pressures are way too high. If he adjust them to the right level then his wheel slippage should be a lot less.
Just to give more insight here, i have a 1050 and a 8RX 410. The Challenger is way over rated. My 410 will handily outpull the 1050.
Pulling what if you don’t mind me asking?
@@cedricschramm air seeders in the spring and either disc ripper or degelman pro till in the fall.
Great video Zach
Nice looking JD tractor
At form I work we have both deere and fent tractor,s in my opinion the John Deere's is better for operation and visibility on the front for sure
