A great book to read about PanAm’s is , Sky Gods by Robert Ganda. I was lucky enough to be able to fly Clipper ( business) class on Pan Am all over in my early 20’s. Then one day it was on the news that they had folded. I was planning a trip to Brazil for Christmas and fell to the floor and cried like a baby. As passengers we all could feel it was about to be over soon..

I gave a BFR to a guy in his 195 back in the 80s. That was my only chance to fly one. We went out and did some ground tracking maneuvers and then a VOR approach under the hood. Hot and noisy is what I remember. Arizona in July. Anyone remember the shop in Payson that did Jacob engine overhauls? Nice shop. The engine has battery ignition, no mags.
