I have a vision and it feels kinda hard to explain but if youve played save the world you know how it kinda loads you into what feels like a separate game i feel like og needs that. Because fortnites UI is a mess but I think a ton of players want the LTMS and such to come back and if epic makes it to where og takes you to an entirely different lobby with old ui and everything I think it can give them more freedom uk? Sorry if it doesnt really make any sense or seems random to the video its just something i think about alot recently

I agree on the fact that skill base matchmaking ruins online multiplayer (UNLESS ITS IMPLEMENTED INTO RANKED MODE ONLY) If Fortnite also had a bot mode like apex has for the lower skilled/casual players for example I feel like this could somewhat help Fortnite. That’s the way I see this

The problem I see with this community, is that you are conflating sbmm with e o m m. This is not sbmm. This is engagement optimize matchmaking. This is the whole issue with Cod right now. We like sbmm, because it is basically like ranked, but the eomm manipulates the hitboxes, manipulates your loot, manipulates how the storm closes in on you. It manipulates everything! Have you ever wondered why in a rain game you drop in the spot that you like only to not find the things that are usually there? That's the algorithm doing its job. That's the whole point of the loot box. There's nothing actually in there until the player comes towards the box. And once the player comes towards the box, or chest, then the algorithm kicks in and determines what Loadout that the Box gives you. That's why sometimes you can't find a sword in a game to save your life. That's why sometimes you can't find a Med kit to save your life. The whole bot thing aside, this is the worst part of the system. Is the manipulations of your wins and losses. Because if you win too much, they think you will quit. And another thing, you have a player profile on you. Some people play more aggressive, which means that they need more wins. But then other players play more passive, which tells the system that they're more patient and can handle losses

Here's the thing about SBMM in pubs: It just shouldn't be in pubs. If you want SBMM, play Ranked. The only difference between SBMM in pubs and how Ranked works is that with Ranked you get a little badge that shows what ELO you are. Pubs and Ranked should be distinct from each other. Having SBMM and Ranked basically function exactly the same is unnecessary

I think SBMM is necessary is fortnite specifically because of how wide the skill gap is now. In other games like COD and Apex, players can only get so good; however, with fortnite’s complex building system the ceiling is much much higher, which is obviously going to make the skill gap much wider. However bots have to go. You’re playing an online game. I didn’t get on fortnite to fight robots, I got on to play against real people. So yeah, keep sbmm, remove bots.

keep it befopr i landed in a shack in the furthest place from the map and just try to survive with sbmm it makes thee game playable befor i got like 1 kill if i got lucky now i gvet 7 to 9 a game its so much more fun then being paranoid all the time

i loved it when the game had REAL noobs cuz not only could you hvae a chance to dying hilariously or just trolling them now its either bots or someone who has too much free time on their hand

i think that skill based matchmaking should be a thing, but this needs way less bots than it has currently. many people want to go against people around their level, but not want to only be killing bots.

SBMM ruins every game it makes the experience rig and makes your server lag for you

The thing about sbmm is that it takes away any incentive to improve unless youre trying to go pro. Whats the point in improving? Just to fight better players? You wont get more wins because of matchmaking. I remember back when i started the game it took me almost the whole season to get a win, and when i finally got it by practicing and improving it was one of the best days of my child life. I still havent forgot it but i also fear that the experience is being robbed from new players. I dont remember my first win in any sbmm game because its super easy and forgettable

Fortnite is the only game that has skill based matchmamking where all it does is increase the amount of bots in a lobby. Fortnite is one of the most played games of all time, they absolutely have the ability to implement real skill based matchmaking without bots, they just choose not to.

its so incredibly boring wanting to play the old map with some friends just to get completely dominated by some kid who wasnt even alive when the map was originally out

I’ve always despised SBMM in every single game it appears in. HOWEVER, regarding Fortnite, I prefer it this way ONLY because Fortnite has AI Bots in the game. I don’t like fighting AIs, as killing them doesn’t feel rewarding. The addition of bots into the game in the first place made me stop playing all the way until this most recent update. With SBMM, by being somewhat good at the game, I get matched with better players and have far fewer AIs in my lobbies. However, if we could get no SBMM AND no Bots, then I would 100% prefer it that way.

Sbmm basically just means casual players don’t get absolutely rolled by sweats but people who take the game semi serious are fighting people similar. As a casual player I love Sbmm and couldn’t STAND being absolutely rolled by these nerds cranking and quadruple pumping me
