Will I ever land at a place like this again?
Nice little story. Was your old glider club at 1I5 in freehold by the Catskill mountain?
Yes, Nutmeg Soaring at Freehold. Back when I flew with them they were first at North Canaan, then at Great Barington and at Candlelight Farms, too.
Not too far from my neck of the woods in Northern Maine.
Great little airfield- and beautiful neck of the woods!
Thanks for sharing about your journey. I have similar aspirations.
Go for it! You won't regret it!!!
😮
Love from Bangladesh ❣️
🔝🔝🔝
A side view of the plane would be appropriate! I saw one for sale in the early 1980's - $25K.
Ah yes, from a time period when planes and women had just the right amount of curves.
One of the most beautiful aircraft of all time.
Wolf, Thanks for Sharing. Just for clarification: Woolsey Memorial Airport is in the Northern Lower Peninsula in Northport Michigan near the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula. Check out my latest video where I showcase the annual pancake breakfast and fly-in, along with a fundraiser to Save Woolsey Airport Terminal. Check out the video here: ruclips.net/video/duGt1pTL7O8/видео.html
i can't wait to find out Wolf!
I've got to ask, I heard you were flying to Tullahoma. Is that in Tennessee? I live just North East of there & would love to meet you & shake your hand.
Achieving the place of knowing to ask the question is, IMO, more than getting the answer. Thanks for the video.
Hi Wolf, have you sold whiskey blue ..Like you I have always dreamed of having a cessna 170 but I live in new zealand and I don't no of any here in nz..I have never looked into the possibly of importing one I think maybe it would be to expensive for me.
Hi David, haven't sold her yet but several people have shown interest. One of them in Australia!! Shoot me an email: whiskyblue@wolfsview.com or call (# on the 170bsale website)
Wolf, what a great story! Can't wait for the rest of the adventure. I have a close friend who owns a beautifully restored 170B, which I have also flown. Great plane! You have to be very persistent, and thick skinned to finally purchase the airplane you want. I own a restored 1949 A35 Beechcraft Bonanza.
Good job! I had to turn the volume full to hear but I look forward to following you on your adventure! What a beautiful airplane. Congratulations!
Everyone knows this quote: “Aviation in itself is not inherently dangerous. But to an even greater degree than the sea, it is terribly unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity or neglect.” So continue to display admirable patience.
I too did my tailwheel endorsement in a 140 -still have it.
Love the video!
What a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing your adventures and memories.
I met a couple in 2007 on the Big Island of Hawai'i who met my neighbor in in the 1970's in Anaktuvuk Pass, Alaska a small village my neighbor would fly to every few years in his Cessna. They told me they lived in Alaska for twenty years and were surprised when I asked them kind of jokingly if they Knew where Anaktuvuk Pass was. They looked at each other in befuddlement for a few seconds and asked me how I knew of such a place. Carl Jung calls these instances synchronicities, it's my belief that people with intuition higher in their cognitive function stack experience these synchronicities more., or at least acknowledge them more. I try to make the most of them, and interpret them as best I can like a dream.
Wolf, Thanks for your learned insight! I’m not 70 plus but 60 plus and I love the reference to the energy we gain from moments enjoyed in our past. As a scholar once wrote “Carpe Diem”. Life might be short but we should enjoy and embrace the journey each and every day. Cheers!
Jack, thank you for your comment. I think the energy comes from the way we view and feel these moments and not allowing the mind to distort them with its own, often dubious, narrative.
A fellow physicist here. I am guilty of looking more in the past than in the future, often with nostalgia. It definitely does not help.
I don't believe that looking back is bad per se. For me, the goal and the challenge is to leave out the "-algic" part, the pain or regret, and let the joyful aspects of the past guide me in the present and future.
Your videos are so calming and full of hope please continue you make the world a better place ❤❤
Nice Plane
We’ll look for you at Sun N Fun; have a great flight to Florida!
A beautiful scene indeed!
Very helpful ...
Spectacular 170B, I share your boyhood dream. Now that I am getting older I hope to fulfill that dream one day. I just found your RUclips channel, I discovered the for sale add for your plane and it brought me here. What a great trip. You should do a video on the plane and it's upgrades, it's out of my price range but it's nice to see what's out there, I would enjoy it's story and how you got there. Thanks for the content.
Great stuff, keep the videos and BCP posts coming
