I'm a fellow AN-er. I'm 1 year post-op and my facial paralysis seems to be permanent. We're trying to get my eye weight surgery approved now and then start the process for testing and a smile surgery. Your videos have been one of the most powerful resources I've had during my journey. They are basically how I knew how to do anything the last year 😂 Thank you Joy. I hope you come back to RUclips and do more videos! This is curable for Bell's palsy

I got face palsy in 2009, and still have it. You have a brave heart to go on with all these surgeries. I couldn't let anybody touch my face. I stopped smiling. I don't speak to strangers. I always have a poker face. I am 39, i don't know how i am going to look as I get older. Take care sis, you are beautiful even with face paralysis.

I have the same thing but on my left side. My bottom lip sticks out a little farther than the top one. I can smile a little but it doesn't really look like a smile its more like a smirk. My lips stay pretty flat and rigid when I do try to smile and my eyes always look the same way sort of emotionless even when I am happy I'm not sure if that has a thing to do with it though. I catch a lot of crap from people about it. You don't look bad at all you are a very beautiful woman.

Hi, thank you so much for this informative video <33. I started using the Thera tears brand & noticed that only 2 drops wasn’t enough to moisturize and relief my eye (as stated on the box). How many drops do you use to get that confort? Also what are your thoughts on lubricant eye ointment? When I first got diagnosed, I was prescribed Refresh PM which has 42.5% mineral oil and 57.3% white Petrolatum. It was hard to get a hold of that brand so I bought the equate, Walgreen's and cvs brands but as of now they are banned by the FDA due to many risks that were recently discovered such as blindness, blurred vision etc. I personally experienced the blurred vision, swelling of my eyelids (including the inferior) and eye discharge and it was terrible. I wonder if anyone else had this experience or did you use it before switching over to these? Because I wonder why that would be prescribed to me. Thank God I found your channel. I have been watching your videos on eye drops & I just purchased Theratears today and started using it. Praying for your recovery, I do believe in miracles & I pray God heals you! Thank you so much for encouraging others.

I wish I had known about this years ago. My bell palsy happened 12 years ago. After physical therapy, I tried acupuncture and it turned out great. But I still had a lot of droop and a lot of trouble with makeup. Thank you for sharing. It has helped me a lot. 😊

I found your videos looking for makeup help for Facial Paralysis... I had no idea you also had an AN! Fellow AN-er here. I also lost my hearing on my Left Side. I'm 3 months post op. Thank you for your videos. There is so little information out there for us AN-ers!

First of all, thank you for your videos. They have been very useful and needed . Very happy to see the results of your last surgery and see how much your face seems to have improved. You look great! I want to ask you if you have had a smile surgery on the paralyzed side as I’ve noticed that you can lift the corner of you mouth when you smile. I’m not totally paralyzed, but when I smile I can only lift the corner of my mouth which is not affected. The other side is still hanging down. I’m currently looking for options… best regards xxx

I struggle with the functional losses… sense of smell, taste and ability to eat without drooling. I can speak with difficulty. I look like Quasimodo. Some improvement over several months, but I am functionally disabled. Feeling pretty hopeless.

I guess as an acoustic neuroma post surgery patient like you why you did not have a cross face nerve graft and a gracillis muscle (thigh muscle) transfer to you palsy or right side of your face??. In my situation I had a cross face nerve graft transfer from my good side to the bad side and a Hypoglossal nerve graft on my left or palsy side and I hope to reanimate in January 2024 which is 6 months post grafts. If that works at the 12 month mark, I’ll have the cross face nerve graft attached to the upper left side of my face.

Hi, I just had surgery and with have (hopefully) temporary partial facial paralysis for about 6 months. Your video was extremely helpful, thank you so much! Question: what foods are easiest to eat? You mentioned fish, and hearty stews, anyyhing else you recommend for shopping list? Thank you!

Hi Joy! I hope you are doing well with your recovery. Do you have any suggestions on how to find a doctor that specializes in facial paralysis. I have had paralysis for 21 years and I am considering Botox but I don’t know where to start.

May i please ask if you have tear production? Mine is do dry 24/7 i have to apply drops every min and im using strongest drops preservative free. Gel just falls out my eye and causes blurriness. I just want to sit like you are for this entire video with no dorkey painful uncomfortable chamber glasses or adding drops every min and still be able to see. I have severe case only 5 weeks but MRI says it all😢 will probably never recover too much damage all inside cranial.

I just came upon your videos, and have been struggling with FP from RHS for 20 years. Tried surgeries but many unsuccessful. I don’t see this brand on Amazon any longer, is there a new brand you find works just as well. Thank you ❤

This is a real game changer! Thank you for this. I'm in my first week of having Bell's Palsy. I'm very asymmetrical right now I and my speech is affected as well. Especially with the "s" sounds. Joy, good to see you again - gold weight removed - must be a relief - small things like rubbing your eye may feel more natural- I had a lot of boogers develop due to tiny nostril - you are healing so well!

thanks for your video's they are very helpful, ive had bells palsy since 2009, i just started acupunture and i get botox every 3 months, my dr that does my botox cut a muscle in my mouth in the front but other than that no other surgerys. can you do an updated video. you have such a positive attitude, you had a weight on your eyelid i never heard of that i will ask my dr on wed. when i go for botox i have 1 eye bigger than the other. again thanks for the informative videos.

My face went paralyzed when I was 17, from the same exact thing as you. I’ve never heard of anyone else with my story. This helped me more than I thought it would when I clicked on it. Thank you so much.

I had the facial nerve and muscle graft from my thigh. It helped a bit, but not as much as I would have liked. I don't take pictures because I can't smile.

I sacrificed my facial nerve 6 years ago due to cancer. I haven't worn make up since. To find your videos...[sigh]...it's giving me hope I CAN be pretty again. 😌
