    I have this exact car and year and since i got it at 269k miles it has had a wavery idle at cold starts but as soon as the thermostat opens it goes away and runs normal. I got a cold start idle air control valve off a car from a junk yard and the normal isle air control valve since its a hard part to find and expensive for a honda 😅 I also am doing everythi you just did to yours. Mine leaks from the distributor O ring still but ive stopped the valve cover from leaking with a new gasket and adjusted my valve lash since it sounded horrible lol These cars are awesome for a new mechanic to learn on Quick edit: the distributor on these cars has nothing yo do with the timing too lol, just spark and stuff. The only way to wack out your timing is to get an ecu thats been tuned so the narks are not neccessary

I used the 4 lug bolt 1998 Acura CL hubs, but that's only because I just bought rims for the car. I really wanted to change all four hubs to 5 lug bolt; more choices when it comes to aftermarket rims.

    Very Helpful! I heard a loud rattle from blower when ac on 2 days ago that stopped and today smelled what I assume is a dead mouse from ac, with your help I cleaned the blower fan but found no mouse after vacuuming and feeling around. Any other spots I could check!? Thank you Edit: smell started after I removed cabin air filter, realizing now that not having that installed could be causing the smell, also checked engine air filter. Cleaning cabin air filter greatly improved ac strength

    • @projecthardway
      @projecthardway 2 месяца назад

      I’m sorry I am just responding, I hope the cabin filter helped. If you did have a pest trapped in the ducts and it’s not near the blower, the next place to look is the evaporator core. Unfortunately, that’s a large job on these cars. Hope you don’t have to go there!

  • @braddenning1617

    I would not have drilled the throttle blades, Now your transition slot is useless , like a vacuum leak. I've seen this done but on some full out twin dominator set-up's. also my timing is locked at 38.

    • @projecthardway
      @projecthardway 2 месяца назад

      I could see a vacuum leak being an issue if it were in the manifold, but this is allowing more air in at the same place the air is already being regulated. The engine wants more air, and if I just crank the idle screw up, it will open up the transition slots too much, making them useless and allowing WAY too much fuel in at idle. This is a fairly common mod for folks with large cams that don’t want their eyes burning while the engine is idling.
