thanks for react to Christian, i was at his concert the last week, awesome, he is just genius, enjoy girls, welcome to DPR world )))
I'm going to talk about his career and the story behind these MVs so in case you're interested read this whole book 😂 Ian is being vulnerable sharing parts of himself that he really didn't need to and giving a voice to people with mental health disorders (like myself) so I want recognize this by sharing his story: *About his career:* He's korean-australian and as a teen he was part of heavy metal band while he was in Australia. He moved to Korea alone after just 1 year of university to pursue bboying. Suddenly was streetcasted and entered the Kpop group C-Clown as the main rapper/main dancer/leader back in 2012 (yes, wild ride...). They sadly didn't get much success and disbanded after just 3 years. After that he decided to work as a video director and shot videos for a lot of other korean artists. He then co-founded the record label DPR (Dream Perfect Regime) where he works as the chief editor and visual director, and they launched their first artist called DPR Live, Ian's close friend. For many years he was behind the cameras and had a lot of success as a director. It was only 2020 that he decided to start his solo career in which he produces and writes the songs plus directs and edits the videos himself. He also plays the drums, keyboard and bass. *Basis of the storyline:* At first he started as a soloist because he wanted to tell his story and to help himself release and manage what he goes through. He struggles with bipolar disorder type I and DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) and he decided to tell a storyline with three other "characters" besides himself: Mito, Mr Insanity and The Hybrid. But those aren't just characters, Mito and Mr Insanity are real people that have a mind of their own called "alters" (short for the medical term 'altered state of consciousness') and that he coexists with. In DID there's more than one person living in the same body with different memories, voice tone, body language, beliefs, motives, etc. DID stems from severe and/or repeated early childhood trauma (particularly before 5 to 9 years old) that prevents the mind of the child from fully integrating into one singular identity. The mind grows as different alters (different people/identities) that develop separately and each one has a different role. One of these alters can be the 'protector alter' or there can be more than one. The protector alter is there to be the person who takes all of the trauma for the child and remembers them just so the others will forget (dissociative amnesia). That person was Mito. A child struck by trauma is like a broken mirror and each fragment, each alter, becomes its own mirror and functions separately, but all pieces together complete the whole mirror, their whole 'system'. (how someone with DID may refer to themselves). The physical version of his first EP had a broken mirror inside the case and the cover of it is his face behind a shattered glass. Someone with DID then only knows this mechanism to cope with trauma: to disassociate and become someone else. So they unconsciously switch between identities as they are exposed to stress and also more identities can be formed throughout their lives. Ian is the prominent identity, the one who stays the longest in control (called the "host"). In very stressful situations Ian blacks out and Mito takes control of the mind in order to protect him (he's the one "fronting" ps. there's also cofronting meaning more than one alter in control at the same time.) Ian then will come back hours, days, weeks later (the longest that it has been was a month) not remembering anything that was said or done. Basically his life has been lived and he doesn't know how. Mr Insanity is when he's manic due to his bipolar disorder. Ian personally calls this state his "manic high" and by that he could mean pure mania (without depressive symptoms). Although formally the "high" specifier is not needed and more like a personal choice since mania is by definition already a high state. Mania is when the person reaches a state of high euphoria and/or irritability. The person is in full speed, the ideas just flow, can't sleep, has high energy and rapid speech, makes irresponsible decisions and if severe it can turn into psychosis, when they start to have delusions (believes something that can't be true) and hallucinations (sees or hears something that doesn't exist). Whistles are often incorporated into many of his songs, present in both So Beautiful and Don't Go Insane. This is because he usually has auditory hallucinations of whistles when he’s manic. But he also treats Insanity as another alter, referring to him in third person and talking as if he has a mind of his own, as he does to Mito. "They said this...They said that". It's complicated since he has two diagnosis so they can interact in a different way compared to a person with just one or the other. For example when he dives into severe mania and suddenly experiences trauma or stress resembling a trauma while in this state, it's when his switches to another alter mostly are triggered. This association is an unique aspect to people with both disorders. He has said that he only blacked out into Insanity a few times (supposedly a DID switch, Insanity fully fronting/in control) but most of the times he's aware, even if when he comes back to himself he can't believe he had that thought process and was capable of such things (could mean co-fronting, Ian and Insanity both in control or an exclusively bipolar episode). Because of this Mito has also repeated to Ian how he despises Insanity, not accepting that he is another alter and being positive that Insanity is just Ian himself, with Mito being his only true alter. This feud will inspire all of the story behind Insanity's journey (his 2nd EP) that will be described later. ‘Butterflies’ are Insanity's symbol (shown several times in Don't Go Insane) because of a test used to assess mental stability, probably referring to the Rorschach Test which consists of showing a person inkblots and asking them what each of them could be, some resembling butterflies. Sanity for him can be represented by butterflies, the more you see them the more you are clinically insane. No one in this world sees the butterflies except for Mr Insanity. Before he revealed that he has DID (which he stated at the end of 2023) he was open only about his bipolar disorder since according to him he was embarassed of his DID. Before this reveal he always used to call Mito his "manic low", when he's manic but also empty, as he said 'flat line'. Although "manic low" is also not an expression formally recognized by the medical field, by that he could mean mania with mixed features (meets the criteria for mania but has at least 3 symptoms of depression as well, though not meeting all of the requirements for a full depressive episode. Basically mania with bits of depression). Now he mostly refers to Mito as his protector/guardian alter so both definitions are valid. *Don't Go Insane:* Now finally about this video, the protagonist of this EP is Mr Insanity. This album is all about how Mr Insanity came to be. It's about Ian's journey as a character into a world called “The Other Side” which represents his consciousness. It's a journey into his own mind, where these alters exist. People with DID usually have inner/internal worlds where alters can interact. There the Ian in the story will switch into Mr Insanity, representing what actually happens in real life. In the story, there's a door that Mr Insanity's chaotic self is trying to open which represents the traumas. Mito, being the protector, won't let this happen since Ian isn't supposed to know anything about it. Ian since childhood usually lucid dreams (when you know that you are dreaming and can manipulate the dream to your desire) and in these dreams there are a lot of doors. Going through the wrong door could turn the dream into a nightmare and that's what inspired the "door" analogy At the beginning of the video, while Ian is sitting at the desk, there's a howl and he mentions 'wolves' in the lyrics: ("Oh, bless my heart / When the wolves take me away"). “Wolves” are a huge symbolism for him because of the werewolf transformation aspect that ties on with his DID switches. 'Take me away' meaning losing the control of the mind to Insanity (who is represented by the wolves). At the desk Ian is also writing a letter for his future self (Insanity). The content of the letter can be found on the lyrics for the EP's intro, the song 'Famous Last Words'. Here we see Mr Insanity develop. We see Ian/Mr Insanity’s journey venturing into "The Other Side" as he slowly goes further into madness and pursues the key that unlocks another door/memory. During this journey, Mr Insanity is met by pink villagers which are essentially Mito's minions trying to stop him and Mito is represented by the black smoke. He says to himself "I'm sane", and even so, still loses grip on reality. “Don't Go Insane” is about trying to not go insane while simultaneously, still losing your mind. In the story, the most advanced version of Mr Insanity (the character with claws and silver hair), when he succumbs to his madness, is completely blind because he no longer needs to see. He holds the entire universe within himself. This is probably why at the end of this song, right before the bridge, he said "Can't see...". (Continues 😂)
*So Beautiful:* This song was heavily inspired by the idea that a lot of times what we label ‘monsters’, as scary or wrong, are usually the most beautiful and misunderstood, this applying to Mito. The MV feels like the transformation into a monster or more specifically a werewolf. Once again the theme of wolves is used. Waking up in the middle of the road not remembering what happened, representing Ian's feelings once he comes back. The white eye and the eye-ring are because Ian considers the eyes the most important as a visual director. When he switches to Mito it's when his world turns upside down and he feels that he loses an eye. The only korean word thus far on his discography is '눈' on the song 'Mood' which means eye. The ring is also his way to cope and subside Mito from fully fronting. The intro: “Before I change again, remind me of the time when I still remembered.” Probably referencing his switches to Mito and the memory gaps. How once he comes back to the body/mind he needs to try to recall what is the last moment he remembers and also figure out all that was said and done by Mito. “I can feel it coming (thunder sounds)” He had been studying thunder and lightning for years just so he could understand its behavior to implement it into his editing. Everytime it rains he likes to go outside, sit there and film it. Thunder/lighting will be used frequently in his music videos to represent Mito. Ian said that he can't act and that he sometimes feels that he's going to switch even if he can't predict when it's going to happen (hence the "I feel it coming" at the into). That's when he tries to schedule his MV filming. Here all of the black and white scenes are Mito, since when Mito is present everything loses its colors. It was the first time that he switched on camera. Ian had a black out and when he came back he asked: "When are the cameras going to start rolling?" and the camera operator answered, "We have already done 3 takes of it". Ian has no recollection of filming these scenes. He said it was hard to edit them and see Mito for the first time. There were some scenes that he couldn't leave in. He also said he can't do some scenes if he isn't at least a percentage of Mito (by that he probably means co-fronting, Mito and Ian at the same time in control of the mind). Anyway, hopefully this wall of text was worth it lol It's amazing how far Ian has come since his early days and it's impressive how he manages his mental health struggles. He's an artist of all trades and is incredibly talented. Hopefully you'll react to more of his stuff! His newer MVs are Limbo (prequel to Don't Go Insane), Saint (from The Hybrid timeline), Miito Movie (medley of 4 songs, from Mito's arc), Peanut Butter & Tears, So I Danced (rest of Insanity's storyline)... Take notice that the genres are really vast because each one of these alters has prefered music genres (mentioned here just from observation): Mito - Orchestra, R&B, jazz (most of his 1st EP and 1st album) Mr Insanity - pop, indie pop, EDM (most of the 2nd EP) Ian - indie rock, heavy metal (he said he's going to release an Ian album soon) Though his songs are usually a mix of genres in good way because often an alter will start a song and another will finish it. There's also The Hybrid storyline which isn't technically an alter but an entity who rules The Other Side. It misleads and influences Ian into entering this world. There's even more but I've written too much already. He's also going to release the Hybrid album but we don't know the genre. Above all I really recommend Skins Demo. It's a relatively short video that was made entirely by Mito while Ian had a 2 day black out. Ian came back found the video and decided to release as it was. It was a spontaneous release so it's not part of any storyline. The 'you' in the lyrics is Ian. It's a letter from Mito to Ian. It contains Mito's feelings about holding their traumas for so long. MANIAC or GODS MENUE would've been better for them, as the 2nd song😆. Lalala was too advanced, for new Kpop listeners.
NcT dance practices is so satisfying.... React also to dance practices of: NCT Dream "Go", "Boom", "Hello Future", "ISTJ" ❤❤❤
WoW!!! I loved your reaction so much!!! Stray Kids are definitely a special group. They're self-produced, they write, compose, and produce their own music. So, complementing their music, the vibe switch, the changes in the song, it's all their doing. They're so Freaking good!!! I also loved that you understood the basic meaning of LaLaLaLa right away, there's a deeper meaning to it but you understood the song! I saw that people explained it in more detail here so I won't repeat it :D Stray Kids are highly known for their epic stages! You really have to watch them. They're so good live, it's absolute insanity with them. React to them more and I'm staying to live here for sure! :D + I wanted to comment just to add to your comments and traction for the video :)
I love that mv so much I’m so glad u guys liked it! I really hope it was just the video and it wasn’t out of sync for you too.
Hope you realize they while you are reacting to NCT that you also reacted to 3 songs each with different members, NCT U, which is the unit for all of the reactions you picked are a rotational unit meaning ANY combo of the 20+ members could be in here depending on who fits the concept of the song. Here is a quick guide on the units NCT- refers to all units NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, and NCT U. all together they have 20+ members NCT 127- A fixed Unit meaning no members change between songs 9 members NCT Dream- A fixed Unit 7 members WayV- A Fixed Chinese unit 6 members used to be 7, there name is different due to political or copyright reasons but they are still NCT NCT U- A rotational unit, the members change each song and it can have however members it wants for a song.
Wow, we actually didn't réalise it... thanks for the info!!

Thanks for your reaction! You correctly identified Taeyong (the one wearing jeans in Make a Wish) as the leader. In fact, he is the leader not only of NCT 127 but of NCT as a whole, which consists of 25 members total. He is also a main rapper, main dancer, vocalist, center, visual, and face of the group. He is a soloist who writes, composes, and choreographs. In other words, he is a true ACE. He is also a member of a supergroup consisting of select members of various groups called SuperM. I'd love for you to check out his solo work as his music is both creative and diverse. I'll suggest these songs for starters: "Shalala," "Ghost," and "Moon Tour." Of course, I really hope you continue to check out more NCT songs too. I'll recommend NCT U's "Baby Don't Stop" and NCT 127's "Kick It." Thank you so much! Really enjoyed your reaction!
Oh! I just looked you two up! I'm going to have to check out your work!
Yes, the young man in the jeans in the "Make a Wish" video, Taeyong, is the leader of the entire NCT group, not just 127, his subunit. So, you picked up on that--well done!
Thanks for your reply! ;-)
Y’all should definitely check out Ateez sometime, I definitely recommend the song Guerrilla (Like Guerrilla warfare) as a first reaction
En vivo son geniales, miren MEGAVERSE STAGE

thank you sm for your reaction💚💚 you guys should also watch nct MV too ^^
They do release actual rehearsal footage as well, showing the process of learning and perfecting choreo (as well as studio footage showing them recording the album) The dance practice vids are like a dress rehersal where you go all out and try and run it from beginning to end with no mistakes : doesn't always happen of course :D
i love nct
Reaction more Nct please 🥰🥰💚💚💚💚
Yes we will, thanks! ;-)
The look and feel for "Move" is very specific, it's supposed to be androgynous and gender neutral. Early in his career when Taemin was growing up in SHINee he was known for his feminine look. The industry thought it was novel and cute to play up his feminine features. Being recognized for his delicate image, ended up giving him a real complex about the fact that people never saw him as a masculine man. It took him a long time to accept that he was known for his looks and to come to terms with the fact that everyone thought of him as a "pretty boy," etc. So, at this point in his career as a 24-year-old (He is 31 now) he was trying to make a statement about how he has now come to terms with just being himself and not caring what people think. Dancing is art and movement has no gender. "Move" is his title track on his 2nd Korean solo album, which was released in 2017. He debuted as a solo artist in 2014. There are 3 versions of his "Move" MV. Version #1 is the regular MV version, which you watched. Version #2 is his solo performance version that just highlights his dancing. Version #3 is the duo version, which focuses on the choreographer and him dancing together. Fun fact: The blue color you see throughout this MV is supposed to represent the cool, chill vibe of this song, but pearl aqua also is SHINee's fan color, so you will see aqua/blue/green shades with most everything to do with SHINee as a way to represent their connection as a group and their connection to their fans, etc. And just so you know, those background vocals aren't Taemin's. They actually chose to leave the songwriters' vocals in the song from when they recorded the guide track. I have seen interviews with Adien Lewis, one of the original songwriters and he was shocked to hear his voice still in the song. Usually when a Kpop company gets a song from a songwriter, especially a foreign songwriting team, they will translate it into Korean and record all the vocals using the artists' vocals or other Korean artists, etc. Therefore, it's very rare that a songwriter would have their original vocals in a Kpop song, however, this was one of the few times where SM didn't rerecord or change everything. If you're interested, here is a short clip of an interview with Adien Lewis talking about "Move", ruclips.net/video/hTxbaiWyrmA/видео.html. "Move" features all female dancers because the whole point of the song and dance is supposed to be about crossing gender boundaries and how just because you are male doesn't mean your dance has to be hyper masculine. Taemin uses what is traditionally considered more feminine dance moves to show how you can merge both feminine and masculine styles together to create something that can't be singled out as one gender or the other. This dance allowed a more mainstream audience to start to embrace less traditional gender roles within Kpop. "Move" is one of Taemin's most famous choreographies and it has become the dance he is most recognized for. This dance has inspired what is known as the "Move disease," and it is said that the dance is so catchy that you can't help but try to imitate it. There are literally hundreds of videos online of people attempting cover dances to this song. (It is on the level of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" dance and some of the most famous TiK Tok dance challenges.) However, no matter how good of a dancer they are, it is quickly apparent that there is just something about the way Taemin moves that can't be duplicated. Taemin is Taemin and there is no one else like him. The dance is never as sharp or precise as the way Taemin does it. That is why he is hands down considered one of the top two BEST dancers in the industry. This choreography is actually considered by professional dancers to be one of the most difficult dances to pull off because of the amount of control you have to have and the intricate movements. They say that if Taemin's dances look easy then that means they are extremely difficult and if they look difficult then they are almost impossible to pull off unless you are Taemin. There's a reason why EVERYONE looks up to him, even world-famous dancers. As Taemin has said numerous times in interviews and on variety shows, the key point in "Move's" choreography is literally supposed to be to stare into the camera like you are trying to seduce the person who is watching. So, you are right, that is exactly what Taemin is doing. The female dancer who is the featured dancer dancing with Taemin in the MV wasn't just any dancer, she is the choreographer who choreographed "Move". Her name is Sugawara Koharu and she is a Japanese choreographer who has choreographed dances for several Kpop groups, as well as American artists. She has worked with Taemin a lot over the years and she is the one that also choreographed Taemin's dance for his songs "Want," "Flame of Love" and "Sayonara Hitori" and helped choreograph Taemin and her performance on the competition program Hit the Stage -- "Devil" performance, etc., and she was one of 3 or 4 choreographers who helped choreograph Taemin's "Criminal." Taemin and Sugawara are really good friends. She was also the choreographer for SHINee's song "Good Evening," among others. She loves working with Taemin because they are a lot alike, and that is one of the reasons why she has been featured in several of Taemin's projects. Plus, Taemin and all the members of SHINee, are also one of the most famous artists in Japan and they all speak fluent Japanese, so they have no problem communicating through dance or language. :D You should now check out a live performance, as well as his dance practice video, so you can really see why this song is so iconic and discover how it literally changed the Kpop industry. Taemin's choreography is very much influenced by him. Although he has input in almost everything he does, he has choreographers that come up with the choreography for most of his dances and he then infuses it with his own ideas and style and makes it uniquely his. The way Taemin dances is just the way he moves. His movements are effortless. If you watch Taemin dance a lot, you will see that no matter who choreographs the dance, it will always be very Taemin-like. Many choreographers who have worked with him over the years have said that, with Taemin you can't help but allow him to move in whatever way his body takes him. Taemin is art in every sense of the word. :D Taemin's style of dance can't be defined. As he has said, he has worked his entire career to create a style of dance that is unlike anything in the Kpop industry. And I would argue that that now extends to the entire industry of dance. Taemin started out as a self-taught popper and locker without any dance training, and, even then, as a trainee it was clear his skills as a dancer went far beyond the average dancer. Over the years he has infused those popping and locking skills into his now more contemporary style of dance. But, when it comes to dancing, he can do it all and there is no one better at it than him. Taemin has had a solo career for more than 10 years and he has been a member of SHINee for more than 16 years. He has at least 12 solo albums and SHINee currently has 14 full length albums, plus dozens of mini albums, singles, repackaged albums, etc. And he is also a member of SuperM, which debuted in 2019. So, you won't run out of Taemin content to watch for a very long time. ;p Taemin has even held several solo concerts, as well as more than 100 concerts as a member of SHINee and a world tour as a member of SuperM.
