@sw7ft-tech Making a PWA is as simple as copy pasting a service worker and the HTML reference, then you can open it just like an app from the home screen. There might be some problems getting it to install but I know there's at least a workaround for Chrome.

@@prsn ya the problem is that we can't install our own bars with our debug tokens and since bb10 servers are off there is no way to do that, we are limited for views :(

yup with my app manager you can run full python3.11 scripts, I build mostly web apps and other use full things

I just tried doom on it and i got it to run on 4k 120fps raytracing and all settings on ultra. Good stuff blackberry..

you can unlock they keyboard with Android apps using a key board mapper. ill take a look and see if there is a relatively new one apk file. as apk files can be installed

Unfortunately I have not found a way, I have some ideas, but the reason I choose this approach is that code does run natively, and since I deployed a newer version of python3.11 running locally. its just the view of the apps I dont have access to. I generally have access to about 60% of the API's on the device and the ability to send notifications and run background tasks. I will emphasize the code runs natively on the device as long as term49 is open so with that it is essentially native app development without the view, there are benefits to my approach... for example since I have access to the new requests module from python3.11 I can make requests for TLS 1.3 which natively there is no way to do that. anyways lots conversation we could have about this

@@sw7ft-tech I had a thought about the app which wraps native browser (or even better some newer webview if it's possible to do that) and provides some protocol to your python apps so that they will be more native. For example, if you want standard bottom bar with buttons as in regular apps you define some endpoint in your webserver which returns titles, icons etc for this bottom bar. So essentially you can augment your webview content with native controls. Also there will be no address bar so you don't have to enter localhost address each time.

@ nice, ya you can enable full screen mode in the bb10 browser and it works well enough to make the view more app like, you can also save it with a a custom icon to the Home Screen

it sounds like you need to download this autoloader (this resets the phone) you get the autoloaders from web archive, 1. USB connect the passport to a windows 2. I might be mistaken about batteries, but I've seen a lot of replacement parts on Aliexpress. Either way I got a refurbished Passport there.

@@MartinAdamczyk and now you can :) it was actually that , that inspired me to spend way to much time figuring all this out. I like the idea of software over 10-15 years being the goal. The continue cycle of updating affects our trust and productivity in certain ways I find very frustrating. Like all of us I value quality and stability
