How to milk a dairy animal (dairy sheep on the homestead) ❤️🐑❤️ #sheep #dairyanimal
Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well ❤️ Today was the first day of milking here on the homestead. It actually was not as bad as I thought it would be. Unfortunately I did not get as much on video as I wanted to but this will not be the only milking video we do . As the girls calm down I can go into more details on how to milk and answer any questions if you have any. Thank you for watching and for all your support ❤️#sheep #dairyanimal

How much does that hay bale weigh?
Around 1000pounds
Sooooo cute I love it I just subbed
Thank you ❤️
Thanks for posting! Our tractor doesn't always want to play nice and sometimes we gotta roll bales up on our trailer. Nice to see a 2500lb winch can get the job done!
Troubleshooting is the art of farming
Paradise on Earth!
The sounds of morning are the best! So much to love!!
The best part of the day
happiness grows in the garden!!
Truth!
They look like happy little sprouts!
Do you drink the milk or just use it for soap making?
We drink it and make yogurt. We make soap with the extra milk
It looks delicious!@@cottagecreekfarm3800
Not sure why I had to subscribe to your channel AGAIN. I know I was subbed at one point. Love the sheep videos!
Thank you for watching and subscribing…again ❤️
@@cottagecreekfarm3800no prob! Yeah must be some kind of RUclips fluke. I’ve noticed several channels I’m now unsubscribed from that I’ve always been subbed to. Anyway, if you’re able to milk the katahdin I know there are several people interested in what kind of yields you get and how long she milks for. In the dairy sheep community katahdin keeps coming up frequently when people ask about dairy sheep. Several dream of the day there will be an actual shedding dairy sheep available
Congratulations!
Thank you ❤️
Hey buddy how you doing ❤
So way to cute
What a sweet interaction!
They are the best of friends. It is very sweet to watch them together
Too cute
So adorable!!
A simple life is the greatest life of all!!
It’s the best
Is this safe to do? I never tried this.
Using a milking machine is completely safe. You just need to make sure you clean it and sanitize well before and after using the milk machine
Beautiful!
Thank you Steven ❤️
Looks good
Thank you
How are the lambs?
Yes
@@cottagecreekfarm3800 I’m guessing that means they’re doing good
Yes . They are doing well
My chicken did that in the corn bins 😂
😂😂😂😂
My sheep always love the new pasture they jump like yours.
Oh my goodness the are gorgeous!!! ❤
Thank you❤️
The opening picture of tomatoes look like heirloom tomatoes ( Cherokee Purple)! Some times called jewish tomatoes ive seen them at 2-3 pounds each absolutely positively Nothing like it.
Ok I wasn't gonna comment until you said until warm weather...lolo Its 5/6/23 those things must be huge in the room
I have three bear egg farm on Google maps we have been losing money in it for about 22 years currently stock 60+ birds they have a 24 x 8 ft coop & 3500 +/- run netted plus free range year round except when the crop planted in the surrounding feilds. We also grow on a strick micro organic scale vegetables and pumpkins and expanding now with the greenhouse almost fully functional water & power is about 95% completed, yet ive already planted a load of stuff
That’s great
Ok I'll give you a pointer you need to make a larger quantity because it work wonders for everything..brew tea same way with a little fish tank pump
Thank you the tip
Have you updated since you planted because I also live in CNY and 2 months ago was warm...lolo
Yes I do have an update video . And recently started harvesting and planting more grow bags for continental supplies of potatoes
Where do you keep these inside?
Near a window so they can have some sunlight
I’m a homesteader
It’s a great way to live!
@@cottagecreekfarm3800 can I have a potato from your bags?
Will they stay in the bag until harvest? I am impressed!
Yes they will stay growing in the bag until harvest time!
@@cottagecreekfarm3800 wow!!
Will you transplant that into the ground or will you keep it in a container?
We will transplant into the ground
@@cottagecreekfarm3800 Interesting! And it's a perennial? That's great!!
@@TheHandmadens it’s a perennial! Growing to a height of 4 feet tall!!!
@@cottagecreekfarm3800 What??? 4 feet tall? Is it fussy like lavender?
@@TheHandmadens not at all! This stuff is AWESOME
Nice to see Senor Cottage Creek in a video ❤
I think he shocked himself when he really didn’t mind being in the video. I think there might be some future videos with Senor Cottage Creek. At least I hope so because he is a book of knowledge that should be shared with the world.
Ooo Badlands. They are very good. Loving the sheep race. 👍🏼
Thank you
I plan on raising frog spawn tomorrow
Cool
Nice race
Very interesting, How many seeds do you put in each cup? Three years on one packet of seeds seems amazing!
I normally put two or three seeds per cup . If you store seeds in a air tight container out of sunlight seeds will last a very long time. I just planted jalapeño seeds that we purchased six years ago.
@@cottagecreekfarm3800 Six years, that's amazing! i need to get planting but I get so distracted with so many other projects. I do hope to reduce my plant purchaceses this year and start with seedlings instead. I pay way to much at the nurseries!!
@@TheHandmadens I hear you with distractions…..but I don’t think we would have a garden if we didn’t start our own seeds. The prices of plants are ridiculous
Do you struggle to get views?
I’m not really worried about views. I have only had this channel for a month and a half. I don’t expect to have a ton of viewers
@@cottagecreekfarm3800 lovely. Glad you focus on the quality over views. Also I would love to see the lambs
@@WeeklyAM thank you ❤️ more sheep and lamb videos are coming. Stay tuned ❤️🐑❤️
I love the science experiment with the wool pellets!
@@stevemoran4718 hopefully it works. We have an abundance of wool over here 🤞
Thanks for the great instructional video. New subscriber here. See you in the garden 😳
Thank you! See you in the garden ❤️🌷❤️
Adorable! Such a good little helper!
She’s a determined little lady
Pansies are great... But I prefer violets, (also Violas)
Violets are so beautiful and perennial too ! We love them both !
Could I use my 5 gallon water bottles to germinate?
Yes you can!
Oh wait...it needs to be dark?
@@TheHandmadens yes . You can still grow them outside . Just make sure you have the seeds covered in soil. 1/6” of soil should do the trick. Press down on the soil to ensure the seeds don’t become uncovered. Watering the soil before planting the seeds helps.
Good to know! I paid a ridiculous amount for pansies last year!! Can you eat all the varieties?
There are no toxic pansies varieties! Any seeds you start will be edible. I research the heck out of that question before I started them.
What??? Eating pansies ... I've never heard now I'm wondering about your sanity lololol I'm going to have to fact check this one ..... 😅😅😅😅😅
@@rocdajacable 😂😂😂
I swear it’s true 😂 you absolutely can eat pansies
Hey just wondering. What sort of content do you find new farmers posting on RUclips
I’m not really sure
Breed?
The dog is a pug mix . Definitely not a herding dog
Thank you 🙏 I am doing the same. So glad I found your video. Will be watching your every move. Don’t know what i am doing 😢
I am so happy you are going grow potatoes this year! It’s a lot of fun. Thank you for watching ❤️
Where is your farm?
Upstate New York
Thanks for sharing this video that shows how to utilize grow bags!
Thank you for watching! It was totally my pleasure to talk about growing in grow bags. Out of all the ways to garden grow bags are becoming my absolute favorite . They are cheap , long lasting and giving the best results
Cheers to warmer weather!
🥂🥂🥂
Excellent video!! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Are you going to try it?!?! It is so easy to grow this way!
@@cottagecreekfarm3800 I just threw out a bunch of potatoes because I thought my runners were too long...But I do think I will try...I have some purple potato seeds I never planted...I don't know if they are still good, but it's worth a try
@@TheHandmadens AWESOME!
