That was fucking amazing.
I went see him and band in Kinder Louisiana a few months backand brought my cousin with me being close to same age and we both agreed it was high in the TOP 5 concerts we had been to me being mid 60 s and bim a lil older and he was in Houston for over 15 years and was able to see more than me of concerts !! We had a BLAST in Kinder !! The closest concert ever and had REAL ROCK n ROLL !! Those beautiful E S s were sounding AWESOME. !! The FENDER s as in AMPS were a match made in Rock n Roll HEAVEN !! FO -SHO !! Would leave everything behind to go see the DESTROYERs AGAIN !! B B B BAD to the BONE !! 15:05
That version of move it on over is live
"I left out the strange verses."
C'est l'extase
The smartest ass in the room. Bless the great Warren Zevon. Made my life worth living. Thank you.
Fan fucking tastic!!!
Il n'a pas rien d'équivalent à ce maestro alucinant..❤
Excellent!!!
He has one of the most recognisable voices ive ever heard along with Gerry Rafferty and Neils Diamonds and Young
Rock,n roll
Its amazing that i hear rock n roll and metal and hard rock like a maniac since 1982 ...and i never listen to them until last year ....what a fool i was !!!!!
Saw them open for somebody in Pittsburgh 83 ish
No one could fill his shoe's.
What a douche this interviewer is
It's funny how this interview has lasted to this POINT of TIME..yet this YACKoff of an interviewer has not been named....He's a D*$K....Warren is so polite....This douche is poking & probing a GENIUS...So kind is Zevon HE doesn't correct the disrespectful mispronouncement of His name...."ARE You SMART" ....Duh....Who is this D*$K!
man I love their sounds here. when he brought in a sax I completely lost interest.
I was oon holiday in Sydney in 83 and saw them in a small club . Id seen them beforehand in london in 81 and 82. Saw them open up for rainbow at the rainbow london. They were supposed to play two nights. On the first noght angry told the crowd to smash the place and seats up. So we did and on the second night they didnt play
Have this hooked via amp and speakers ,the surrounding neighbours are now aware of the antipodean phenomenon know as Rose Tattoo ,get the beers and turn up loud !
Amazing.love Wanted Man!!
No one attacks a guitar like an Australian. Angry Anderson.
what a difference! a seperate audio of his college concert of 1979 is so folk rock. Here appears the new and long-lasting totally rocking George, with a Jimi takeoff.
Bravissimo!
This is so nice
Ah the sound of steel on wood, tubes and transformers, and MFin Rock n Roll!
Did they open for Pat Travers on this gig? I seen them in Madison,Wisconsin on this tour.
Not quite sure tbh, there wasn't much info given with the bootleg. But judging by the shortness of the set I'd say it's possible
The first thing that is painfully obvious is that Warren is a genius and this interviewer is a dumbass....
That interviewer was so square, man. 😮
WZ once told me I "look like every guy who ever ran for Sheriff of Pitkin County." Thanks, I think. Meanwhile, this recording sounds like it was recorded internally (without airchain processing and FM artifacts). Did you work there?
Unfortunately I was born a good 16 years after this interview haha. I found it as a bootleg back in the days when I was a bootleg fiend
Two sources I keep returning to over and over again - Monty Python and Warren Zevon. That's what happens when you grow up in the 70's. Thank God. RIP brother. "Don't it make you want to rock and roll, all night long..."
Genius......
I was 16 in 1976 when this program was recorded. I saw Warren live twice in the 80's. Both shows were awesome and he blew the roof off the place. I've owned all of his releases in LPs, Cassettes, CDs and even 8 Tracks. He was very popular with us in the military and we even converted his song Jungle Work into a Jody Call. He was a great song writer, singer and artist. He is sadly missed and we could use his insight today with all the craziness that we see.
It's unfortunate that the person doing the interview was so out of his depth, but most people would have been when dealing with Warren. Nonetheless, this is a lovely little window into this period of his life, and the performances are fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
I was thinking the same thing. The interviewer sounds so young. But when I see this was recorded in October of 1976, I am forced to remind myself that in October of 1976, I was only 16. LOL 😂. It doesn't seem like almost half a century has gone by.....
@@gern7535 That’s it - he’s just young. I can easily imagine an older, more established interviewer coming off as pretentious and having a worse rapport with Zevon than this relative kid managed. What a time capsule. And it’s easy for me to forget how long Zevon had already been writing music and playing gigs abroad. It’s rare even for a debut to have so many knockout songs. He may have had to be convinced a bit to do an album but he was fully formed as a songwriter and certainly had his own voice.
Thank you for sharing .
Still listening after all these years. Really miss those days.
I was 17, a mate and I met a couple of Melbourne chicks at the Palmy Hotel and we all went up to The Playroom. Tatts were playing. Its a bit blurry but I remember non stop pashing that girl through two sets and intermission right in front of the front of house speaker, Tatts blasting in our ears, sweat and saliva soaking our faces and chests. My first pub pickup.
One of a kind , till the end . God bless you . See you around the bend. Love you
I “ I really didn’t want to do it except the exact way I wanted to do it “ That quote sums up Warren to a T to me. Great video. Thanks for posting
WHEW!!! OH---- I love Warren So so much. This was beautiful. A whole bottle of tequila in an hour, eh buddy? He kept hinting that the (decent!) interviewer should say "Zeeevon" but dude didn't catch it. Loved the man, voice, brain, and word choice. And he was easy on the eyes as well. Since 76. RIP.
He was very underrated.
You think?.......Doi!
Too bad the interviewer couldn't be bothered to learn how to pronounce "Zevon" correctly. Also, his obsession with The Eagles and the word desperado was just downright weird. Just because The Eagles had a song named Desperado doesn't mean they own the word.
