Really excellente video with plenty detail like the gazelle running the respect for MASSAÌ and the MASTER MINERALE LIVE MONUMENT i am really suprise to be the first comment .So much work and knowledge need to be more listen by humans Plus I am a frenchman sailor in carribeans😂😂😂😂😂🇫🇷🇫🇷
Sometime impossible 😂😂😂😂😂with the male ship on image excellente and for the rest too🤣👍👍👍🇫🇷
its funny that they shows Roman triremes in a video about the eruption of Krakatoa more then 1400 yrs after the fall of the Western Roman Empire.
Impressive indeed 😊
ALCO y Baldwin ¿No? Las primeras
ALCO
The 15CB's were from Baldwin.
Emma Sweeney 😮😊
Well done Miss Sweeney 😮😊
She's moving along isn't she for a little locomotive 😢😮😅
Fire editing yo
I'm sure the Photos i have is of this Loco where it sits in Humewood Station in PE. It's big Black and White Photos. There are no numbers on the side of Cab though. Don't know why they have been removed? Maybe someone can help?
RGS 20
The film is from the movie "Ticket To Tomahawk". Filmed on the Denver & Rio Grande Westerns Silverton Branch now known as the Durango and Silverton, the locomotive used is Ex Rio Grande Southern locomotive 20 built in 1899 for the Florence and Cripple Creek Railroad, then sold to the RGS in 1916 and served until the RGS' demise in 1953. RGS 20 now runs at the Colorado Railroad Museum on select days.
She was actually built by Schenectady
@rogerlollar4325 Yeah, I forgot to bring that up
Very interesting
that’s so amazing 😮😮😮😮😮😮
I was half-expecting that stream to instantly evaporate once the flow hit it.
Awesome nostalgia
Always hope emergency measures are in place to safely evacuate everyone from the danger Krakatoa poses.
GOLDEN MEMORIES... I WAS A TRAIN DRIVER AT PM BURG AND MASONS MILL FROM 1978 UNTIL 2006...THEN WENT TO. METRORAIL IN DURBAN FROM 2007 UNTIL JUNE 2024..RETIRED NOW BUT COULD HAVE GONE ANOTHER YEAR OR TWO. THANKS FOR THE CLIPS
My friend JKB and I 'did' this line in the latter half of October, 1975. There were only a few very 25NCs working it then, ISTR it was mostly Cl 23s on the passenger workings. Wonderful line though, with the Drakensburg mountains to the south at the Bethlehem end. Bloemfontein shed was an astonishing haven of steam at the time. That MASSIVE coaling plant, with the sun setting in the west. And great people, whereever we went.
The GMAM had a mechanil stoker, if it goes faulty, you find out what hard work is😢😢
Its fantastic to hear 2 beats from one engine chimney. Music to my ears❤❤
Our white railway never looked this bad. How disgußting. No pride no respect😢😢😢😢
The vegetation is ANC daisies😂😂
The slight movement of the points tumbler lever is not a "seismic" effect. The movement is caused by the passage of the wheels over the switch blades. They are connected to the tumbler through a rod. The movement is caused by the very small play in the points changing mechanism, especially where the points have been in service for a long time.. Not a particularly desirable condition, but on manually-thrown points it seems unavoidable. Electrically operated points have a more positive locking mechanism and similar play is eliminated to a great extent.
Umkumaas valley, just awsome❤❤😂😂
Bought our meat from the butcher here for the Franklin book off.❤❤😂😂
I grew up on these, Pietermaritzburg tp Franklin, and Greytown branch.❤😂😂
Die ou twee swartmerries laat wiel, nè!
Wo they're massive machines aren't they for narrow gauge 😮😊
All our engines can reach high speeds, depending on the class of the track Class A track 100 Km / hour.
Takes me back to 1968 when I fired these engines at Masons Mill depot in Pietermaritzburg.😮😮❤😢😢
This is amazing
Lovely footage. What a shame things have changed so much that this cannot happen anymore.
THANKS FOR SHARING AMAZING VIDEO ! 👋😊👍
I can smell the coal, teak and leather. Then sleep in the bunk with the train puffing. Those were the days
Awesome Video. Greetings from Australia
There seem to be a DE2 in Zimbabwe yellow livery. Is it there having brought something from across Limpopo or for either repairs or service?(2024.09.14-NgoMgqibelo-12:42-socalled South Africa)
Ja my first job after leaving school 1962 how I long for that Gma Garrett sound good old days
Brilliant video. Thanks.
"The WorkSafe inspector who investigated helicopter companies after the Whakaari/White Island tragedy did not believe they should have been prosecuted and felt so concerned about changes to his findings that he gave evidence against his former employer. The inspector, Paul Patterson, felt the prosecution had been pre-determined. He lost faith in WorkSafe and later resigned." "His final 53-page report was submitted on September 22, 2020. Eleven days after filing his final report he received an email from West. Attached to the email was a revised version of his report. It was 26 pages long - half the size of the report he filed. At its foot was Patterson’s electronic signature. “When I opened the attached document, it was immediately clear to me that my report had been significantly altered from the version I had submitted to Mr West,” Patterson said in his affidavit."
Please put dates on your videos. Time hasn't been kind on SA rail so it's hard to tell if certain locos and lines are currently running.
Beautiful scene with the lovely Basotho people watching and the veld typical of winter
I am 81 sitting in Australia. I often look as steam trains on my iPad. And never subscribed to any of the many steam train videos on the web, that is until I stumbled upon your videos! Truly the best of the best! In focus, clear descriptions of the countryside, you concentrate on the locomotive and not wait for 20 carriages to run past. Thank you. I was in my STD 10 year, during the Dec holidays a waiter on the Germiston Mosel Bay route, I often do it in my minds eye again. I have a Marklin electric train set with original South African engines and original couches painted in the original SA colours . The engines worth today is more than R6000 because Marklin only brought out one set and then stop producing them. I was hooked on steam since early childhood. Today I enjoy the sound of those big boys! Thank you..
Just love those GMAM Garratts. Watched them climb up Outeniqua pass as child. Good memories of good old days when everything was 100% functional.v
Earth fire channel ad was distracting
Nice to see thanks
Hope you guys are well. Certainly great work you all are doing( And sacrificing)to keep steam alive and kicking😅. Hope any one of you can help with where i can find drawings of the shunt yard hand throws. I need to model and make these(14 of them) for my SAR layout. Kind regards and Thanks in Advance if any one can assist
For the points being changed
What is the date of this video? Thanks
Magnificent. The sound recording is very good; the gruff, emphatic "puffing" of these locos is awesome.
