Why not laser cut the holes? What kinda of tape stuff is being used that doesn't damage the leather?
Helps keep the thread clean vs the char sort of speak from the laser holes. Link for the tape in the description. Helps keep the nice side of the leather clean.

@wildflowerleatherco did it and didn't care for it. I found a $5 card holder and my shoe guy sewed a line down the center when I had my boot soles redone. It was uncomfortable 🥵

What is it it’s satisfying!
I bought 6 mm spacing , 1.5 mm holes diameter. It’s universal size. Now I’m looking for 5 mm for more delicate stitch

Why not just use thinner leather in the first place????
Color varies from side to side. Using the same leather and just skiving it down helps.

Video shows without a pen loop. Website has a pen loop but no option to deselect option. Is it possible to not have pen loop? Really like the topography print on the leather.

I was so frustrated with hand stitching until I picked up the Sinabroks punches. It's a game changer. (1.5mm 5mm spacing). Plus I just love the look.
