Doug Hell - Angels

“The Legend Of Canada’s Daniel Johnston It’s been a trend in these post-Hot Water Music days where after a band dissolves, a wounded member slinks off to do a quieter, more stripped down (see acoustic) and dare I say, intimate solo project. The lone sensitive singer/songwriter with a guitar strapped to his back has been teenage-crush fodder for years. Let it be known, that this singer/songwrite...
Liquor Pigs - iraqi love

This is a great pity because there is a vault of adrenaline-pumping punk noise primed to blow the ears off of a wide, waiting and unsuspecting audience. Fortunately there’s new blood in th...

Patrick Sky - Dirge to Love Gone By
Просмотров 462Год назад
By request, for GrandHost. Photographs is the fourth album by Patrick Sky, released in 1969. This is a poignant track, dealing with an issue that societal mores has refused to address, preferring to look away and place the blame where it is least deserved - on the mother of an unwanted child born into devastating poverty. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 😊
PS Mr Brown was indeed good lead singer!!!!⚡🎙⚡
I agree with that!
I actually met the guy who tracked down the master tape for that ARF ARF reissue. His name was Eric Lindgren. Really nice guy. He was in town here locally trying to track down the Fenton records master tapes. Fenton was known primarily as a garage band label here locally. It actually wasn't a real record company. By the way, those Fenton master tapes were never tracked down by Lindgren. Instead, some German reissue came out in the 2000's with the actual Fenton singles, which when listening , you could tell they did not come off any master tapes.
What a wonderful trove of info! Thank you very, very much.
Move bx get out the wayyyyyy
Randomly found this Vinyl at my local mama and papa vinyl shop. I don't regret judging the album cover and saying "this looks rad". I was right.
What a great find!!!
I hunted for this for quite some time! Lovely!
Super! Glad you found it here.
"With a million angels watching, and they never move a wing." I found this song randomly on wikipedia, why does it have lyrics more metal than actual black metal bands? I swear Sydney Carter was having a crisis of faith. I know its supposed to be ironic because the carpenter referred to actually is God, but still, "It's God they ought to crucify" still goes unreasonably hard.
For some reason I keep expecting Steve Marriott to pop in...
Like Small Faces’ The Universal?
@@Eileenjennifer69 Yes that's him but I was thinking more of Lazy Sunday Afternoon.

A true gem.
This song populated the radio in New York back in 1968. Anyone recall Brother John on WABC-FM (later WPLJ)
wished these were available in CD format.. Have the album on vinyl but just can't stand crackles and pops..
lol. They’ll have some magic fix for that soon, I’ll bet.

I saw The Watersons performing this at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, back in the mists of time when the GAMH used to book a lot of folkie acts. It was, let's say, an intimate crowd, so I felt emboldened to shout "why are you saying 'ferrets'?" after they finished. And Norma glared at me in a not particularly friendly way and said "It's not 'ferrets,' it's 'Fritz'!" Or at least that's what it sounded like. (I do understand that it's "for it's," but everyone I know sings it as "ferrets" because that's funnier.)

Liking this thanks.
Thank you too!
The best tune on this album . the 2 previous albums were more dark and more of moody psych sound .The LSD influence started to wear off by this album .Carol lee Britt had an odd voice on behold and see it was a COOL album for sure
@@jasonkrause8876 I’ve heard other people say that about Carol Lee Britt’s voice. Personally, I like it and it works well with everything else that’s going on.

I saw Chris live in Palings music Store in Sydney around 1982. I met him and he signed a record for me. His music has stayed with me. I have his first album Thesilger, Two albums with John Shaw on Lp & CD and a best of. Sadly I’m missing Shifting sands. If anyone has it, I’d love to do a digital remaster. Please let me know. This is a very intriguing song. It’s so amazing that it’s brought life in all its traditional vibrance and plot thickening-ness. 👌🏻👏🏻
Yes, the traditional anecdotal song. Thanks for commenting!
