    Thanks for the video! Is it ever recommended to do so many isometric exercises in one session for one muscle group? One 6 x 6 would’ve been enough. But then you did three. Do you think it might be overtaxing the quads? And what would be the benefit of overusing a particular muscle group with OI? Also I did not see much ramp up to MVC. Especially in the calf raises.

      @@monsieurLDN stayed in the down position of a pushup for 60 seconds ten sets a day with a 70 lb weighted vest and then arm fully extended for 2 min. Did 70 partial rep pushups in a row with weight and then after a few weeks when I took it off and did bodyweight alone I was able to do 100 pushups in a row easy

    After many years I realise what is probably obvious: if you want to have good functional strength, do the activity that you need to train in, ALOT. MileyTyson hated weights and just did lots of pressups throughout the day. Isometrics is a great complement to other exercises cos it's easy to do alot during the day.

    This position you're in would be more akin to a viking press I would recommend bending your knees straightening your arms and driving up with your legs. Guaranteed at another 100 lb to your press

  • @nauna_218
    @nauna_218 3 дня назад

    I am confused. I used to lift over 100lbs all the time, like several times a day every day and I'm a 115lb female. I mean I was strong for my size and all but I've seen several guys outdoing me so I thought that was a pretty standard weight? That wasn't weightlifting though, it was our job so maybe that's different? But I was assume it would actually be harder because you are expending energy also doing other things so your not even at full cap or full potential I guess. I never did weightlifting so I'm sure there is something I'm missing that explains this, I'm just curious what it is.

    Great content and advice as always! Best channel on isometrics without a doubt! On my side, training with the isochain, towel etc, I noticed I definitely became stronger, more efficient in other exercises and mma throws etc but not much muscle mass gained yet maybe cuz I only started 5weeks ago with iso. When you say about 6/6 , is it per muscle group? For example, I’m doing 6set of 6seconds for shoulder press, 6/6 for a pull, 6/6 for push ups with a towel. If we want to add triceps, biceps, and different angles it becomes maybe too much for the CNS right? Or maybe we should divide the training in smaller ones?

    Lately I've seen people modify the horse stance by doing it with a rubber band across their thighs to add horizontal tension to the exercise. I know the strength of the band is a variable, but what kind of rep range and training frequency do you recommend? I've heard everything from 5 minutes a week to 10 minutes a day. I'm guessing it varies from person to person, but how would you begin to look for a "sweet spot" with an exercise like this?

  • @The-Contractor

    Do the research. Overcoming Isometrics are superior to Yielding Isometrics. Far less time to complete a workout, superior for muscule strength gains, and the gains are independent of joint angle during exercise.

    @NoLimitSquad hey Chris, there was another question I had pertaining to shorter duration holds for pure strength, so I’ll just copy and paste it here: When doing the shorter contractions (1-3 seconds)...do we still get the adaptations; stronger tendons/ligaments/connective tissue etc. ? If so, do the connective tissues develop the same strength/thickness/ stiffness in comparison to the 6 second holds Or is it more or less? (granted we’re doing enough reps/sets to equate for the same exact amount of volume)
