Houdini Tip: Removing Backface Culled Faces
Просмотров 4654 месяца назад
Here's a quick tip for removing backface culled faces without altering your original mesh. This technique utilizes the dot product and the new Clip node, which now supports clipping by attribute-a truly powerful feature. While inspired by Jafar Dashtinejad's method, my approach eliminates the need for remeshing, offering a more efficient solution. pDAVCmp9xM4a/ #3DArt #VFX #Blend...
ballistic path velocity custom shapes
Просмотров 2515 месяцев назад
Experimenting in Houdini with ballistic path velocity, I had an idea for creating custom shapes. Initially, I encountered issues with the RBD Solver and intersecting collisions, but I discovered an attribute that allows me to toggle this feature on and off. pC_kAHdJRbEa/ #3D #VFX #VisualEffects #TechArt #3DArtist #MotionDesign #GameDev #bulletpath #houdini #sidefx #velocity #rbd

Houdini OSC controller

Here are my Houdini OSC projects where I use two Android apps: MultiSense OSC (reads phone data) - This app, for some reason, is not on the Play Store, but if you Google it, you can find it on multiple sites. Houdini OSC controll

Exploring further with OSC! This time, I used the Android app, OSC Controller, to manage position, scale, color, and object switch. It's quite impressive, but I'm still brainstorming potential applications. Perhaps for precise object placement or recording complex animations that are challenging to execute directly in Houdini. If there's interest, I'll soon make both scripts available on my Gum...

Houdini tutorial Extracting transformation no VEX
When I use the file you provided to test with the pig - head model, the models are always interpenetrating and all huddled together. May I ask if there are any good solutions?
maybe remesh, its all depends from mesh quality
Is it possible to get the transform values of the head as it moves? As mine stays on 0 for all values, but does move along.
i think yes check primintrensic
Why does it look like a brain help😭😭😭😭😭😭
Nice, thx
Thx ❤
Awesome!
CRACK!!! TY 🥳
Insanely smart solution
Can you share it?
@@HuỳnhNguyễnKiếnQuốc nope
Nice🔥
Yo Emils bro I've been looking for a way to get this done and again like many other occasions you are the one who achieves the results that I've been looking for lol, love you man keep it up <3
Did you just implement a setup from "Vellum Cell Replication Tutorial" by Adrian Meyer here?
Such a time saver! Thank you so much
I purchased the solution file, but the current problem is that I want to change the LIDAR scanning range to the size and shape I want and fix it. I don’t know where to start (I am still a beginner). Can you give me some pointers? Thank you for your guidance!
write emails and add example for more clear what kinda effect you want to get.
@@emilsvfx I replied to you in letter🙇
thank you very much
how did you animate the pins along curve?
How😮
Thank you
@N = normalize(@P); is enough @N = normalize(@-P); to point normals inwards
tnx, Where Have You Bean 6 years ago?
bless you
Thank you!
Thanks for your work! 👏🏻
Is there a way That the Lines dont realigne After the mesh is moved?
@@G1NJO i think yes. It possible. Only need adjustemts
@@emilsvfx how ?:)
@@G1NJO i dont know its your project and dont know what you want to atchive.

remesh (highres) => poly reduce (lowpoly) => uvautoseams => uvunwrap => uvlayout. Combine that with merging, and you get entire compounds low/highres, for free.
Add a remesh node at the end with target size 0.05. something that will give you : highres geometry, proper smoothing, and keeps edge damage details.
"Houdini Image Camera Matching" - Okay, just use another software and youre good.
@@beverlyhillscop90210 for sure or fspy hda for houdini
🤘
Excelent work!! Is there a way to create a shader to make the LIDAR points the same color as the object its touching? Intead of color based on the range, color based on the neareast object material Or any way to segment the LIDAR ? I'm still new to blender
yes it possible but need make adjustments for this data transfering from mesh to points
@@emilsvfx Would you be able to help me?. I'm not able to find any similar solution online
@@seranca1 probably not. But search tutorials about data transfering inside geonodes
Very cool!

@@ojjohnson4540 google houdini ray bounce etc
very cool, are you using intersect()?
This is awesome.
Niiiiiice. You should try a version where the bounce boards are all prisims, and as the beam bounces further around, the ray splits into the spectrum.
@@5rob791 sounds intresting now only need to figer it out with my monkey brane
The match size node of Houdini, now in Blender. Great Addon!

Thank you for this addon! Please, add one more button for removing the origin to min, max or center for all of axes immediately

Great, Emīls!
thanks its amazing, only way, which works easily with animated pscale as well
Just bought this, the VEXpression snippet has been removed from the Falloff Control wrangle for some reason. Any idea what's going on there?
You can make screenshot of the node setup and send me.

very cool!!!
vector a seems completely redundant?
better use this @N = normalize(@P)

omg, this is fantastic!
