flying!
We're getting back there!
love it!!!!
what bike is that?
Commencal Supreme V5
sheeesh slow down bro ur dusting the trails but seriously dude high five for this
lol
That’s so sick! 🤘🏽
Thanks dude!
What a sweet trail. I'm getting a MD Patrol. Can't too rip up the trails.
1999 £ bought it just few weeks ago from chains reaction. Unbeatable value 🤘😎 It feels like was created for the big stuff want go fast.
nice! love the time of day/lighting
Snow is melted already?
I doubt that!
Average home mechanic the day before showing up at the shop
Git good
We’ve all been there! Hate those WTF just happened crashes for no reason!
Great video man this place looks sick. Question, was this shot in hero mode or 1440?
Thank you! I was shooting in hero mode 1440
I'm looking at the patrol and I'm between sizes at 5'6", should I go S/M? Thanks,.nice ride!!!
Thanks man! Totally depends on what type of riding characteristic you're looking for. Want some thing more playful? Go small. Want something more stable at speed go medium. Personally, I would go medium.
Hope to have one, new subscriber here😊
Where is this? Crocket?
Lime Ridge
Hey a few quick questions brother, do you feel this bike is slacked out too much? Did you ever feel the bottom bracket is too low? I live in northern nj and we have a lot of really tight, rocky trails, so i was wondering about the maneuverability and bottom bracket height. Thanks! Sick video
Hey man, thanks for the comment! I feel that the bike as it comes, 160/160mm travel is just perfect. I ended up changing out the air spring in the fork to 170mm and didn't really like the result. The bike became a bit too slack for me and I intend to change the travel back to 160mm. The bottom bracket isn't too low at all. I run the flip chip in the "high" position and haven't had any BB strikes at all. Hope this helps out, if you have any more questions feel free to shoot me a DM on IG. Cheers!
😻
Where did you buy this from? Its really hard to find one anywhere online.
Nice review what camera/stabilization/ mount are you utilizing? I keep getting a lot of camera shake form a hero 9 on a chesty over big hits
Thanks Nick. I use a GoProMax on a stuntman chect mount. I've used the chesty as well, and the Stuntman mount is far superior.
Oh this trail looks so sweet. I know you’ve said this is in northern CA. Could you share the name or Is this a secret trail? No worries if it is, my brother moved up to San Jose and it would be cool to ride this when I visit if it’s close by. Thanks and great video!
This trail is about 3.5 hours North of San Jose my man. A great little zone.
Who’s from here!
I am 182cm...which size should I take?
Sick
Thanks man!
Thanks for the vid. Im thinking I might got for a size small as well. You mentioned you are running a 150mm one up post. Is your post all the way slammed to the seat collar or is there a lot of post sticking out? Do you think someone that is 5'8" could get away with a 160-170mm dropper post. I like the idea of a smaller bike to be more playful and I have a shorter inseam. Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it! My dropper has a bit of post showing, because the patrol seat tube is just so darn low, only a 120mm dropper can be slammed all the way to the collar. If I were you, at that height I would definitely get the Oneup 180mm dropper because you'll have the option to shim it down to 170 if necessary. If you check out my Instagram, I've got plenty of pics of the bike as it is now with the 150mm dropper.
@@Spencer_Bikes Sweet, just check out your IG, yeah that seat tube is super low, it looks like you have it slammed as much as you can, since the tube sticks out a bit does it get the seat low enough for you so on the downhills it's out of the way? I live in CA as well. We should ride sometime, Im always riding in Tahoe in the Summer and got some fun stuff around the Pinecrest area I could show ya. How far is Pinecrest, CA from you?
@@whoisadam The seat is definitely low enough, I actually have the seat raised up a bit because if I slam it, it's too low for my liking. Pinecrest is a few hours away but I'd love to come check it out!
@@Spencer_Bikes Sounds good, thanks for all this info. Perhaps we shall ride together one day and I can check out the Patrol in the flesh. Im riding a 2020 Remedy, but Im wanting more travel. I bought a remedy in 2015 and have gotten 3 new bikes from Trek, they got good customer service, I break the bike every 2-3 years :). Can check out some pinecrest riding in my best of 2021 edit - ruclips.net/video/2ANz6KrBHbw/видео.html
I'm 5'8 and medium almost feels too small.. when seatpost is down all the way my knees hit my arms
Love to see reviews from a short persons perspective! The Patrol looks awesome too, just a straightforward burly fun bike. I'm kind of cross shopping the Patrol, Process X and a Nomad. I'm leaning towards the Patrol though. Curious what dropper comes with the size small, is it a 125? 150? Do you feel like it could use a longer one?
Nice! Appreciate the feedback! The Patrol is a rad bike and I'm sure you'd be happy with it. It came with a 125mm dropper which I swapped out for a 150mm and it's dialed now!
Hey Kari, any update on what bike you chose?
@@Spencer_Bikes I actually ended up going a different direction and got a really good deal on a V3Santa Cruze 5010. But here I am a year later looking at Patrols and came across your video again. The 2022 frames are on sale right now, I'm contemplating buying an alloy one and building it up with coil suspension front and rear. Basically a replacement for my DH bike that I can still pedal when I want to.
@@karip1126 That's going to be a rad setup! I actually have my patrol set up full 27.5, single speed and rear brake only.
whats your height ??? and the frame size
What’s the travel of your dropper?
In this video it was the stock 120, but I later upgraded to a 150mm
@@Spencer_Bikes thanks. I have the medium frame and I couldn’t decide if I should get a 125mm or 150mm
@@Spencer_Bikes dropper is the only thing left for my new bike build but I don’t want to mess it up 😅
@@rezanspeaking At least a 150, you could honestly fit a 180 dropper in a medium frame. Thats what I would go with.
@@Spencer_Bikes thanks! Will definitely consider a longer travel. Probably 175mm of fox transfer
Good video man - was looking into the patrol but coming from a carbon bike I'm scared of the extra weight. Probably adding 2lbs to my ride. Curious if you noticed that weight difference much or even a difference in the way the bike handles with the lack of stiffness in the frame through turns.
Honestly man, I didn't notice any difference at all. The bike climbs well and is exceptional through the turns.
@@Spencer_Bikes Nice! Yeah I went from an Alloy Rocky Mountain to a carbon pivot firebird.... thinking of a change and whilst the pivot is hard to beat I'm toying with the transition. Geo is so similar to the pivot - only a few millimetres and degrees in it. Like the idea of a more durable frame but the weight factor is the only other thing I'm considering, thanks for taking the time to give the feedback!
@@NextLevelRiding The geo of the patrol is so bang on for me, its exactly what i was looking for. If ya can throw a leg over one and see if you even notice it.
@@Spencer_Bikes no dealers near me. Would have to gamble with an online order. Unless I find someone who has one. Cheers.
Extra weight the patrol carries won’t make a single bit of difference.
I really enjoyed watching you ride. I hope I'll be able to ride as good as you someday.
Thank you!
Awesome!! so cool
How do you like your Patrol? How do you like it compared to your Nukeproof Giga? Love your content bro. Get back up to Washington State/The PNW.
Thank you man, I appreciate the comment! I love them both, but the patrol is definitely more my style. it's a lot more poppy and playful and doesn't feel like a tank on the trail. The giga is a great bike and took me to a lot of cool places but the patrol is here to stay. I need to get back up there.
@@Spencer_Bikes I'm glad I found this comment. I'm looking to upgrade my Yeti575 trail bike to a Patrol, Giga, or Pivot Mach6. Top choice is patrol and I found a few deals on 2021 smalls (5'5"). Excited to go check it out.
@@Chrisbrown503 check it out man! I'm sure you'll love it.
The GoPro effect does this place no justice. So so steep. Awesome ride dude!
The GoPro effect is definitely real with chuckanut! Thank you, I appreciate that.
sick riding.. enjoyed the whole video
Thanks man, that means a lot. Appreciate ya!
Absolutely rippin! Great quality, few sketchy moments with those loose sandy berms, eh?
Thank you! There was definitely some of those!
Have you rode the new Bronson MX? curious to know how these two compare. Also what is the trail name in the intro?
I haven't ridden the new Bronson but I've heard great things!
i think your bars are on backwards
They certainly are not hahaha
I think it’s just the camera angle with the 360 camera
Sick trails 😬
Some of the best!
Do you think Nukeproof Giga is better than Santa Cruz Megatower in any way? Well, I have been looking for my best enduro bike for a long time and they have also been out of stock for quite a while. Thanks a lot.
If I had to have only 1 bike in my quiver, between the megatower and the giga I would probably pick the megatower. It's a bit better of an all around bike.
@@Spencer_Bikes Oh why? In what aspects? Please share your opinion, tons of thanks.
@@sonnyfung5135 Being that a few of my friends have megatowers I can attest that they climb a bit better. Also the 180mm of travel front a rear of the giga can feel a bit cumbersome on all but the gnarliest trails.
@@Spencer_Bikes tons of thanks for your opinion, but Megatower has been out of stock for ages in my city sigh...dunno what to do but wait.
@@sonnyfung5135 Good luck my friend!
Love the sound of tires ripping through the dirt!
Hell yeah!
Nice track 👍🏼
Thanks!!
