Filmed in Japan's Nagano Prefecture during Winter '22/'23, young Australian skier Theo Lansbury immerses himself in some of the world's deepest and driest snow. A gift (doro) from nature many of us treasure. Filmed and produced by Dylan Robinson, this short film aims to present a shared perspective of filmer and skier to a rather unique soundtrack.

Very nice video I love Japan ! What kind of camera did you use for the movie ? Thanks a lot
Nozawa?
Man, i want to get out and sample this!
Only environment in Australia where there are no animals that want to kill you is a place where there are avalanches 😆 Would be really cool to ski there.
Great job Dylan and Kyle. Makes me home sick. Incredible light and filming.
What a wonderful film, so professionally made, showcasing our beautiful and unique back country in Australia . Congratulations, 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Unreal video mate! People even in our own country do not realise how incredible the back country is
Awesome film, i've never tried back country skiing, have recently moved to Jindabyne so keen to try it.
Well done, many weekends of beauty on display.
Nice one. Awesome to see my mate Kyle on camera. 😊
Beautiful
YUP👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻money. Thanks
A beautiful film, congratulations 👏.
Very well put together Dylan! Well done
SICK!!!
Great film! Always fun to watch skiing in our own backyard!
Wow, what an awesome video showing a little know part of the Australian Alps, the back country. As a kid, hiking to get a run in was anathema to me. Having been exposed to some guided backcountry in Japan I i am much better placed to appreciate the whole aspect of this style of riding, not only the run down. There's something about the hike, the mountains, the run down. It's holistic, satisfying and as you point out, sustainable. Keen!
We do not get the same amount of snow as Switzerland does. We've got to stop repeating this bit of nonsense.
Very true
Yeah it’s because we get more
Maybe he's counting by volume and it's spread over a wide area in Australia, leading to shorter/shallower cover?
I think they mean in area, because it's definitely not depth.
@@justana3507 doesn't matter how you look at it we don't get more. Not in snowfall, snow depth or area covered by snow.
love your work!
Nice, good production. I see the effort you guys put into it. I enjoyed it.
AUST is gnarly short conditions windows
Awesome short film, thankyou so much for it,haven't seen the snow in a while now, you've reminded me why I fell in love with it!
Amazing little film! Think you've convinced me to learn to ski so I can splitboard up the back country!
AMAZING! Thank you for this incredible representation of Australian skiing. ❤
Beaut short film.
AWESOME , nice work Dylan 👏
YES, corn harvesting UpBogong!
Great Work! Love these mountains.
Insane
a great celebration of the Aussie Alps, Spring corn is the best on solar aspects unique to our old mountains!! Love the the film name, my parents told me 'drifting' was a skiing technique taught by a early ski pioneer and instructer on Mt Hotham Lindsay Salmon
Some gorgeous scenes there.
Great story and footage Dylan!
we love ice
Очень классный фильм, близкий мне посыл. Я сам горнолыжник и живу этим. Удачи и новых кинокартин тебе!!!
I was loving this until we got a lecture on carbon foot print. I dont want to go to your church of ESG so no thanks. It’s like a commerical for Jehovas witness only in the snow in Japan.
wow. hardly a lecture mate. he literally made a statement - you can agree or disgree with it. and he speaks the truth - we need to reduce our footprint or else dumps in Japan will be less requent and skiing may become a thing of the past.
Very nice video with great shots and wonderful conditions, but talking about carbon neutrality when you go skiing in Japan from Australia ? I dont know what you do all year long to reduce your footprint but I think it would have been more appropriate to simply talk about nature without involving this.
Agreed 100%! Just another hypocrite
Thanks for your input! Every little bit we do counts. Glad you enjoyed the film :)
what's wrong with going skiing lol wtf
Absolutely Epic!
Wow man, great film with some epic shots! 👏👏🤩 I hope to get a chance to go back and bring the big Camera too!
Thank you!
AWESOME!🔥
Beautifully done man! amazing piece of videography! 🔥
Thanks so much!
Where exactly in Japan?
Nagano prefecture :)
Lovely edit. That one shot of the rotemburo (outdoor bath) was that not Maguse Onsen?
Correct!
Super, ultra, IPER, mega fantastic scene. I am very very envious for what you have found in this place. Powder snow, dry cold and warm friendship! This is the most ingredient for a unforgettable vacation.
Incredible place!
Beautiful film. The ecological footprint comments seem hypocritical. It’s obvious that guy flew and drove to this amazing place. Arc’teryx white washing to sell gear? Disappointing and misleading. 👎
Agreed 100%
Thank you! Every little bit we do counts. I feel not to take away from those making a concious effort, even if it's not perfect. None of us are, but as long as we try.
👏👏👏👏👏
wow
Looks like Tohoku. I'm a Zao local. Hit me up next time you pass through.
Absolutely epic
Mate this is incredible! masterpiece of a video
Fantastic job, man. The shots, the cuts, the narration...I felt like I was there. I very much hope there will be more to come!!
