Dakota front 5 lug conversion (overview/update)
That is exactly what I wanted to see if it could be done. That's great. Also doing stacked laser cut pieces solves the problem of having someone CNC machine something thick...
Lol what is squeaking in the background.?
These engine mounts available? Save me time on both my 2j swaps that are going into XJs this summer, one aw4 & one ax15 with r154 bell-housing.
How's this doing? Building a shop truck for my bodyshop and I'm between turbo and blower. For reference I have built many high HP turbo and supercharged things. My goals are only 4-450whp with the 5.2
It hasn't been supercharged in a long time. Me and my machinist friend were playing with different things and I went back to NA for a while then it went twin turbo. And now it has a single turbo 5.7 hemi. Well it will. It's all bolted in I just have to finish it up.
Just what I was looking for! You're quick 😮
Can't wait to see you get that animal running brother.
Ohh I want a 4bbl😊
Ain't caught up on the videos in awhile. Every Dakota owners dream damn near lol.
Appreciate the build series, wanting to do a similar build so seeing the obstacles ahead of time is very much appreciated. Hope the new year brings more videos and channel growth for you.
Thank you. Should be closing on a house with a detached garage soon. Hopefully that gets me out of the weather and easier to video the progress.
do you change the map scale multiplier section value under Airflow - General to suit the 1.75 bar map? i assume it would give you better use of the fuel table once it is scaled?
Not with jtec. You can scale it and make it read properly but jtec won't let you go past 105 kpa so it's best to leave it alone and understand where the switching point is from Atmospheric to boost. The 1.75 bar usually ends up at 65kpa atmospheric and anything over that is boost. It's a pain but you get used to it.
@ yep, that’s what I had done too, but I had heard of people having low map voltage cel issues. I’m also using the Honda map. Thanks
Did you say sounds good? SMH ruclips.net/video/RMiSe8Q1SOA/видео.htmlsi=4egQTutdwu1kV8SM
You still got the 4 barrel throttle body plates do u have any parts a cam was gonna buy the first cam if it's 511 lift or around there
How do I buy one of the guides you used to drill the oil galley?
I would like to have you do my magnum throttle body. How do I get hold of you?
How well do they hold up to doing burnouts and highway driving?
They work just fine for me. Even in the rain taking off from a red light they hook better than what I had.
Man this is cool 😮
Ever consider boring it out and installing larger throttle plates?
Iv done it and on the dyno made no gain over the ported throttle body at least not at the 300 wrhp level.
@@thomasbeyer Very interesting. Thanks for your response.
Can I buy one from you?
I figured on ceramic coating the coolant passage to help kept the heat out of the manifold. Not sure how much it would help, but anything helps.
Any updates on the Volvo?
That is a cool project. Did the power steering pump also come from a small block magnum? I notice in our description you said accessories and brackets but I just wanted to be sure.
Sent you an email days ago. Would love to hear from you. Thought I would post here in your latest video.
By any chance are you selling them
That looks good. How will u do the drive shaft?
@@TnTruckSeatSwap it's gonna be expensive. I'm going to have the driveshaft shop build me one after I get it running.
Did you ever get this together and running? How is it working?
Worked great. Didn't really make any power difference from my ported kegger though. Picked up about five horsepower at peak RPM (6200). Once I went to the larger cam it made 365 at the tire.
@thomasbeyer right on, I'm thinking about copying the process but mostly just to ditch the stupid beer keg for leak reasons and visual improvement. Not really trying to get down the quarter mile in an 81 dodge crew cab lol.
is that drill guide setup still available?
Also looking to see if he is still making them
Where did ya get it
What’s behind the water pump housing I have a lil leak back there
Timing cover
@ ok so my code p 1495 is a evap leak somewhere could it be my fuel pump
@@goowaptv644 fuel cap is common
@@UNTOUCHDH3RO but when I go to start it it don’t it just spin like I’m not getting no fuel
@@goowaptv644 evap code will not cause a no start. Check the fuel pressure at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail
What do the water pump sits on
Save yourself the wrk and weld up 5 of the 6 holes in 9.25 rear redrill 4 holes in the 5x4.5 pattern , you utilize one existing hole , and add 10 inch drums in 5 bolt from 90 dakota
Safe to say you are definetly alive brother. You are working like a madman. Hell of a job.
Great job my 93 zj lower us cracked drivers side
Thats crazy, I always understood 12 afr at wot for boosted applications is way lean.
Not for low boost. Around 10 psi I like to be around 11.5 but mines only running about 6psi so 12 is good.
Sorry I know this is an old video but I would like for you to do this with my 3.9 2 barrel unless I can get a V8 one and put I would like to get whatever contact info so I can get
I don't do them anymore. Too busy at work. The easiest thing to do with a V6 is put the V8 throttle body on it and get the V8 throttle cable as well. The linkage and cable are different from v6 to v8.
man that thing is gonna be a 🚀.. i see u getting ready to blast off. make sure u give a awesome show when u do it. lol
Do the waste gate through turbo housing. At Top/@ a slant. Like Sloppy Mech style …isn’t the best location, u planed That turbine outlet would be better routed…a 90 then along fender where ecu is mounted and out fender. But that ecu location can’t move much I’d imagine. I just don’t think your thinking about heat temps of the tubes You will melt that belt VERY often
It's going together nice buddy. Can't wait to see her back on the road.
Hey Thomas, love the video. The measure for the spindle, 1.95”, is that from the outside of the spindle or the inside of the lip?
looks great
@@jlawlar thanks man
@@thomasbeyer you're welcome
How much u charge to make an intake like that
@@dalefrost5146 I won't build another one. Sorry
Late here but for those that don't know the kegger intake runners aren't direct. They cross over one another. Air sucked in down the middle, the left side of the intake feeds the right cylinders and the right side feeds the left cylinders. Longer runners makes more torque shorter runners make more hp. What you lose in torque on one you gain hp what you lose hp for you gain in torque. That's the biggest differences between the air gap intake and kegger style.
Did u just put 3inch pucks
@@johnwebster7921 yes basically and some hardware store shock extensions
try using that exhaust heat wrap to cover up ur lines around ur custom turbo headers.. i used it to wrap up my sparks boots to help keep to much heat from getting on my plugs. good luck have fun wait till i up load of all the progress of my 2000 RT
Is there anyway you could build some swap knuckles and ship em to me?
Good video. Do you think the offset tie rods would fit with 15in steel wheels with 4in backspacing?
Car looks even more sick ....🔥💪✌️
Hey bud what do I need to send you to get modified? The mustang part? Also what's up with the throttle body talk? Do you have an email address I can get?
Keep posting about your Dakota build man, love the work you do
Great job!!!! I have a question, did your abs work with the tone ring? Also, is that tone ring something you made or just took off of the old hub?
@@jameszaku1312 never drove it after. It should work tho. I had them made.
@@thomasbeyer how much to make a set for me please? I’m doing this swap myself soon on my 99 dakota
Did you make the abs tone rings or had them made? I would like to know how much if you made them or where I can order a set
