Hasta donde tengo entendido no se pronuncia “Ma- cuai- tili”. Si no “ma - ca - güi - tl” (La terminación “tl” se pronuncia como un click) Como intentar decir Tlaloc pero si la “a” después de “Tl”

Where can I read more about the addition of the extra 1/4 of a day when starting the new year? And how would the tonalpohualli be kept aligned to the xiuhpohualli when adding that extra 1/4? Thank you!

So the Aztecs were intrepid warriors who moved into someone else´s land and founded a powerful empire, unlike the Spaniards who... also moved into someone else´s land and founded an empire? Also, when do you plan to mention the tens of thousands of human sacrifices the Aztecs did regularly until the Tlaxcaltecs got fed up and allied with the Spaniards to stop them?

I love your videos! You should check out the book Red Smoking Mirror by Nick Hunt, which revolves around the relationship between the Mexica and Muslims (and Jews) in an alternate history where the Caliphate of Al-Andalus didn't fall and it was Muslim traders, not Christian slavers, who "discovered" the Americas. Hunt presents both sides VERY well despite being neither Mexica or Muslim himself.

Xochitl here, I have a Nicaraguan friend whose name is Eztli, meeting him made me realize how influential Nahua culture was outside of Mexico. In Nicaragua and El Salvador it's the mainstream culture proving how dominant the Nahuas were and still are in those countries.
