Mister - Spoken word poetry
Some artistic licence as I changed one or two words as it was spoken aloud, but here's as close a transcript as I can do:
Mister
My compression vest lets me breathe, and I can’t ignore the irony
Of colloquial names like “binder” that describe it so entirely.
Because when I wear it, I feel a little closer to who I am
Yet have to look over my shoulder, lest by my existence, I offend a man
Who could be my brother - I don’t mean generally, I mean for sure
My own blood raised with me, who wouldn’t hesitate to shut the door
In my face, or to lock me out, because I threaten his world view.
He yelled insults from his car, in the city last time we passed through.
And I hid further down in my seat, because ...

The Mirror Cracked - Spoken Word
Просмотров 185 лет назад
The Mirror Cracked Squish me, squash me, stomp all over me I’ve tried to be however you want me. And me, myself and I will appear, Only when the coast is completely clear. The sky is reflecting my mood, battered and bruised as the rain pours on a hard ground. Your punch connected, the sound rang in my ears for days but still myself I will stay Until spring is sprung and I’m less young I’ll grow...
Precipitation - spoken word
Просмотров 176 лет назад
A poem I wrote in 2012, which I felt like sharing again. Precipitation It’s started to hide, feels that its pain is denied Served up ice cold with a slice of lime Waiting on life to resume, to get ready Trying not to fall too hard, always keeping steady Rhythmic movements of the passing of time Nothing more important than letting the light shine It’s breaking out, pushing through Trying to expa...

If by Rudyard Kipling

Final poem recital for ME Awareness Month www.justgiving.com/Jets-Challenge www.ayme.org.uk If by Rudyard Kipling If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, do...

www.justgiving.com/Jets-Challenge www.ayme.org.uk Laugh, and the world laughs with you, Weep, and you weep alone ; For the brave old earth must borrow its mirth, It has troubles enough of its own. Sing, and the hills will answer, Sigh ! it is lost on the air ; The echoes rebound to a joyful sound, But shrink from voicing care. Rejoice, and men will seek you, Grieve, and they turn and go ; They ...

Good work :)
Finally found a frank turner bsl video whoot! I really liked it, probably just be a bit more confident and mebs change "raise a glass and sing" so sign like you were raising one , then sign glass, then to drink, then sing? but I'm only level one, so what do I know xD Also is that a sherlock calender in the background *-*
Hey thanks for your comment! Yeah there's a few flaws with this video, but I was just trying it out really. It's not "proper" sign-song, it's just me having an attempt with the words I knew I suppose! And yes, that's a Sherlock calender in the background heh.
I got some snow as well yay
what talent! who is your cameraman? ;)
What is this meant to be exactly? It looks interesting.
It's a working model trebuchet. We made it from a kit, and this is proof that it works to fire (mints) up to 1.5m :)
love it, very helpful. One of these days I will understand all these signs :)
Haha, great stuff :)
As for writing I've don e a few things, mainly poetry though I did do a few kids short stories when I was younger. I'm also working on my autobiography (mainly just to get things written down in some form of order so I can work on forgettin g about them..) but with the brain fog I've had to take some time off. If you're interested in poetry mine is posted here: jetblackice09.blogspot.com/
Hey Tim, thanks for the comments. I've not read half as much recently but it was part of my yearly goals to read a book a month, i think i read about 3 a month. These days I only read 'easy' books because my mind can't handle anything difficult. (Except when J slips me a copy of Will Self and doesn't mention it's not an easy book and I just read it and enjoyed it anyway..)
PPPS: Sorry you got the PS twice there (I can't remove comments on my present browser). I'm not sure it was my fault: youtube just "made" me type "gallywoo" to prove I'm not a spambot. Hellfire I hate fascists...but not nearly as much as the things passing as humans that motivate the fascists!
PS: You might like to compare your video to some of my Facebook "photos" (in the "Rock 'n' Roll Mayhem" album)... plus maybe I should e-mail you a video I did also featuring book covers: I removed it from youtube because there was too much danger that morons might misunderstand it (Alan Robert Tyson got sent a copy). PPS: What was on the soundtrack that WMG didn't like? (try "Audio not disabled" by SaulHirschberger - and its anti-response).

A few years back I read some Dragonlance (and all manner of similar things decades ago...pushed on me by the twisted lit-nerds and J-freaks)...but ultimately I get iconoclastic: fantasy and war is VERY horrid! I hugely recommend "Unweaving the Rainbow" by Richard Dawkins, "The Maestro" by Tony Bunn, "Fugitive Pieces" by Anne Michels (but undonesidebourg has my copy at present), "The science of Discworld" by Pratchett, Stewart and someone else.
Quite the little bookworm, aren't we Jet? We are what we read. Have you tried writing any? I got bullied into reading "Brog the Stoop" by Ali the ATC instructor from Windemere... and some horrid Andrew Jarman book by one of her boyfriends. I hit back by lending them "Deep Future" (non-fiction) by Stephen Baxter. It blew their minds a little (in real life "blown minds" aren't pretty).
Well done Jet! Keep going... it took me ages to get it at first (as it did with everything in life). xxxxxxx
