If you can maintain that 90 degree angle and keep the grooves parallel to the base, while measuring the loft and lie, I suppose you can. But I would question the precision you're getting. Try measuring the same club 3 time in a row and see the variability of your measurements. You need to clamp the club down to make sure you have accurate results (that you can repeat).

Callaway, Taylor Made... who ever has a raw face has to put a protection on it, given all the grooves and micro-grooves the adhesive has to be thicker to flow into each of those grooves to protect them from rusting. Once that has happen and the wedge has been sitting on a shelve for any period of time, that adhesive will dry up a bit and will be more or less difficult to remove. Not sure there's anything the companies can do about it. It's up to us to realize that and clean it off. That's why I made the video, to help fellow golfers who have the same issue! Cheers.

You can put the float in one of your kitty litter containers, then just adjust the height of the kitty container up or down to match the level you want in your rain gutters. This is easier than installing the float in the end of the rain gutter itself. Use half inch irrigation tube (or half inch garden hose which is often easier to bend etc) to connect multiple rain gutters together so you only need a single float valve (Hoocho hasn't learned this yet). Install a filter before the float valve so it does not clog up with algae or any undissolved nutrient. Hoocho uses a net cup (or wicking rope) which hangs into the rain gutter for wicking, but I prefer using a microfibre cleaning cloth. Make sure it is polyester/polyamide as this does not rot like cotton does. I push the centre of the cloth through the hole in the bottom of the pot, spreading the ends out along the inside bottom surface of the pot. This helps to prevent roots getting into the rain gutter. The polyester cloths last for many years. Just pull the roots off between grows (or put them in the washing machine). You can test the wicking ability of various cloths by pegging one end onto the lip of a bucket & carefully adding 2 inches of water in the bucket. Observe how far the water wicks up the cloth an hour later. I've bought the polyester wicking rope from Hydroland (Hoocho) & most microfibre cloths beat it hands down. Big plusses are that you no longer need to adjust the pH of the nutrient as the grow goes on & no more emptying out the nutrient reservoir every couple of weeks. Another plus is that the acids the plant roots secrete creates a mico-environment that suits the roots without any recirculated nutrient washing them away. This is one of the main reasons why wicking rain gutter grow systems work so well. Just remember that wicking only works to 400mm max, so no point in having your aggregate any higher than that.

In a Kratky the nutrients are absorbed by the plants, so it never really gets super concentrated, if something the nutrient solution is getting less concentrated with time... that's actually the whole Kratky concept to have a container large enough to just let it be for the whole plant cycle. But you need more space to accomodate a large container. So having smaller container and allow it to re-fill makes a lot of sense for many of us. The nutrient solution you put in should be made according to the instructions that come with it (whatever you use, I use Masterblend). You should never make the solution more concentrated expecting it to dilute when it reaches the plants. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

I use a pair of slip joint pliers to just give it a little bit more than hand tight. Not too much because it's plastic after all, but I like to compress the rubber washer a little bit, have it bulge a little when you look at it. Hope this helps.

They need to build up a main trunk that will be strong enough for the peppers they'll bare. The leaves will still lean toward the sun!

These buckets are a by-product of having cats... their litter comes in these. I'm recycling these buckets for just about anything...

They were just too massive... I should have rip them at 7/8 or 1", no more... they are at least 1/2" too thick. We'll see what happens next year!

We'll see what happens! We tend to rotate our vegetable from bed to bed every year, that's why I'm not doing a more permanent structure in any of the beds. I think I overbuilt the wooden cages, they are too bulky. At the end of the season I'll re-evaluate the situation and adjust for next season. Cheers.

I'll give it a try. I have a new video coming out soon with an automatic bucket filler, so it'll be real easy to lower the water level. But that will happen is a few weeks as they are still very small... The temperature is still low at night (nothing to damage the plants), since peppers like heat, they are growing really slow. Depends entirely on your application. If you applicationr has a disaster waiting to happend if there's a leak, fish die, plants die, basement floods... the yes glue it. These in the video are abs, so make sure to use the proper cement for what you're glueing. In my application I don't glue them because they are responsible for drainage and do not carry any pressure. And, not to be ignored, I change my mind a lot on the layout of my systems, so not glueing them allows me to re-use them. Make sense?

The wires on the brush are fairly soft (thin) so it didn't affect the micro grooves. But I can imagine that if I used a stiffer bristle with a coarser wire it could affect the micro grooves. But if you want to be real sure you can use a brass bristle brush which is softer than the steel.

It will be painted white, but that won't happen for a little while. Pressure treated lumber has to dry out before you paint it.

A big reason why you didn't notice the wider pickets is because I kept the height of the tip (triangle) the same, I change the angle instead. If the tip was kept at the same angle, it would be a taller tip and you would have noticed.

I've used this DWC a few years back and it worked well. I'm always looking to optimize my harvest and minimize my costs. I'm a thinkerer so this is also fun!

The Ebb & Flow was the system I used 2 seasons ago, last year I used an Dutch Bucket (the video in the comment) and I'll be using it this year as well (the video is coming this week). The Ebb & Flow worked really well it's just limited by the reservoir, in my case a 32 gallon trash can.

@@jeremyhula931 I actually watched many of his videos, he's a good ressource. That being said I don't beleive a bell siphon will work in this setup. The siphon will "suck" the nutrient solution at a much higher rate than the 1/2" PVC tubing will allow it to enter that bucket. If a bell siphon was going to be used in a setup like mine, I would make the tube linking all the buckets at least an inch in diameter, and probably more like 1.5" to allow the out flow of the grow buckets to keep up with the bell siphon. Also a consideration, bulkhead fittings of that size are not cheap, probably around $10 each, so the system becomes a bit more expensive... Bell siphons seem to work best in a larger grow bed where the solution is "waiting" to be siphoned out and doesn't have the restriction of traveling through a tube.

A taper shaft would affect the lie reading but not the loft. The block that rides on the aluminium rail will square the blade of the club (to the back board and allow you to adjust the grooves parallel to the bottom board) so your loft readings will be accurate. The lie will be affected by half of the taper angle... which is a very small number (if you can find it). Personally I would ignore it, as the comparison between each clubs (from the manufacturer specs) will tell you if something is out of wack. The lie tends to vary by half a degree between each iron (Callaway specs but I think this is pretty general) until you reach the wedges were PW and GW are the same. So if your lie isn't 1/2 a degree between each clubs you need to have that check. Cheers!

Or try different brands of seeding mix that are available to you and find one that works.

If you go to 15:00 on the video, you'll see the block that's used to square the face is grooved on the bottom and it rides over the rail. That groove and aluminium rail keeps the block square so I can square the face.
