Why would you do that to yourself? 3D printing is already hard enough...
To recycle failed prints back into a usable filament for that that own mmu ypu can recycle waste material which in turn will help reduce cost on you

What people want is to be able to shred their waste filament and failed prints and turn it back into filament, not buy slightly cheaper pellets - can it do that?

I'm sure it can do shredded. You would just have to make sure that the shredded bits are about the same size as the pellets... ish.
