Very cool thanks for the idea
What the size of the tool box
Love it… however can we get rid of the beeping
@@alfglasgow1847 I'm with you on that, I thought of taking a screwdriver to the speaker
Great video! Gave me a couple great ideas
Ingenious!
Wow thats BADASS i want something like this for "the end of the world" scenario
Do you have a Video of what materials you use to allow it to roll as well as the locking mechanism?
Nice.
What is the model number for that specific toolbox? I’m trying to find one less than 22” tall and I’m having no luck.
should check out the doyle 6 in hitch vise @ harbour frieght its a great option for a more heavy duty vise.
Good idea, thanks
great job.... finally someone who made a real truck box that is worth it
Thank you
What tool box is it? Thanks

Hi, what’s the measurements on your tool box? I’m really wanting to create a set up a lot like yours, I love your set-up. Differences I’m up against is that my tonneau cover is flush with bed sides and hangs down a bit lower.
Thanks, my box is 21Hx18Dx41W I would recommend you measure the space under your cover and subtract 2 inches for the rail system and that is how high you can go.
I can dig it. Good job.
Thanks!
How gimmicky...pass
Where you get the tool box and how tell?
Wow, cool stuff man. Nice work!
I'm 8 months late in seeing this, but you could put some springs behind it to elmimate the need for a pull bar most likely. Find some with the right amount of tension that its not hard to lock it in place, but still enough to give it a good push when you pull the release. Or if you've got on board air you could get some cylinders and get real fancy haha. Sweet idea and execution man
Springs.....now that is a brilliant idea!
👍🏻 Great Vidja 🔧🚜👌
Well done sir. You’ve got a gift
Bam..! 💥 That is a nice set up..
Amazing bed. I’m in the market now. Have you heard of decked? This is way better
yea very expensive and leaves very little room between the cover and the top. Glad you liked it.
I had the decked one, I sold it because it took all the space of the bed and I couldn't fit anything that was over 8 inches high.
i love it GREAT JOB!!!!!
What tool box is that? I can’t seem to find the craftsman with the full drawers. Any chance you have a part number or can post a link for it! Thanks in advance.
I bought it used off FB Marketplace. Found this link, hope it helps - mylist522.wordpress.com/2013/12/15/craftsman-41-wide-5-drawer-ball-bearing-griplatch-top-chest-stainless-steel/
How’d you run the power to the box with it moving back and forward?
I put a wire tie at the mid point of the power wire and the mid point of the side of the truck bed and it just works. sometimes better to be lucky lol
Awesome thanks for the reply!
Thank you for making this video. This is exactly what I wanted to do but I couldn’t envision it!! You are the best!
You are so welcome!
Looks really nice
Had no idea it was that easy!! Thanx for the video.
Sweet build. I had the idea to use a bed slide with a 1000 lb capacity for my 500 lb welder after I found out about the price for the aluma reel set up. Have not done it yet might just leave mounted next to the cab. Best wishes to you.
Yea the commercially ready stuff is outrageously expensive, out of my budget. Thats why i did what i did. And all in, it cost me around $200. Thanks for watching.
Kept simple and very effective, nice work.
Glad you liked it!
Fantastic. The latch mechanism is extremely simple and effective, as well as the sliding system. Great work.
thank you, much appreciated
Could you make a video about the whole bed setup? I like how you used the sides spaces
Pt. 2 is up, thx
You sir are doing the lord's work 👏 I was just thinking about doing something similar with the chest portion of my old us general 5 drawer cart. I'm trying to have it come out on its side on a track like you've done, but also have it pivot 90 degrees for better access.
Thank you, very kind. Part 2 is up now.
This is great, you have basically constructed the idea I had in my head for my own vehicle. I'm definitely interested in a more in depth video on the construction of the sliding mechanism, specifically the bearings and the cable lock. Keep up the good work! Also any chance you can make a cost comparison to the materials required to build this versus buying a BedSlide or similar and having it installed?
Absolutely, working on it. Should be out soon!
If I wanted can you build me one?
How does it track straight? That's the extent of the distance it's capable of traveling? How are the wheel bearings attached? Whats your estimate of the weight of the toolbox? May I suggest you going slightly more in-depth of these mechanisms? Elaboraying a bit more on the locking system as well? Thanks for sharing, regardless. Aloha
Box with tools is easily a few hundred pounds. The roller bearings go through the angle iron on both the top and inside of the frame to track straight. I will make a more in depth video of it as suggested. Thx for the support!!
Very cool.
That was nice
make a video of every thing you carry in the box
will do thanks!
Says every thief....
Nice!
After 2 months, so far so good. No condensation or anything getting in there.
how dose it hold up with the weather? any condensation in the box?
great so far
