Intermediate piano - Fanny Mendelsohn Melodie Op. 4 No. 2 (variation by mxchan)
Просмотров 40Год назад
This is Fanny Mendelsohn's wonderful Melodie Op. 4 No. 2 with an alternate ending. I think it is an interesting try to give a more "satisfying" ending to this piece. I'm still not 100% sure I like this better than the original but I also feel that the ending of the original could be more interesting. I realize this deserves a re-recording with nicer audio, video and a few less mistakes :)
KSP2 - Tylo's secret - Campaign mission to monument.

I really wanted this done, so I built an overengineered craft and wasted a ton of dV. Roast me in the comments :) Anyway, you can buy KSP2 now - it is now officially fun. Still, this is the first craft I tried for the mission and worked right away even with the major design flaw where the last stage can't separate in a hurry even when it really would need to. In no way do I claim this is withou...

Accidental success - my Kripen

A quick 10min build to get something that looks remotely like a Saab Gripen turned out to be a really well handling plane. Not so sure on the Gripen look though :) WIthout afterburner, it is even fuel efficient. Find it on Steam if you want to give it a try: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2787215766

Chopin's A minor waltz but I get better with every measure...
Really appreciate your videos that feature the SC140. Great sound quality. I listen using an audio interface and Sennheiser HD600 headphones. You asked for feedback on the audio quality: It's great, but perhaps consider dropping the gain marginally in Reaper, as the level is a bit hot, meaning that it distorts occasionally.
Really nice recording. Do you like the SC140 ?
Nicely recorded.
Good job 🎉
it sounds quite beautiful but the problem I foresee is that with this set-up your bass and upper notes are quite seperated in the mix, something we humans generally do not find pleasing as we are used to hear sounds from a singular directional source (the voice). With this setup you resemble more of an orchestra position where the bass sits to the left. Of course this is also highly personal. Might I add a suggestion of putting the mics in stereo and adding 2 more microphones: 1 to capture the ambience, situated above the players head and 1 on the bottom of the piano to capture the right overtones and bass.
I love this sequence ! Handel was truly a master minimalist and earned the respect of the great Bach.

The Nocturne too! Nocturnal at last!
Love your tempo on the Goldberg. Common sense and enjoyment.
Thanks, if only I could bring myself to actually learn the whole thing :)
Super cool design, just a question, did you use mods for this?
100% Stock, just graphics mods. Robotics needs the breaking ground dlc though I think.
@@StressKind ok thanks, i might look for a mod that does something similar
That would be infernal robotics I believe.

beautiful and deep sound, and even more beautiful playing :)
bro what's your mic stand ?
The left one is a mini gorilla pod with an adapter, the right one is a Superlux HM-6 from Thomann. Both use the simple spider that came with the mics. I also updated the description.
@@StressKind thank you so mucchhh

if somebody speaks with the same beat and some loudness for each word, it may be weird... so at least for solos, I suppose it can be expressive rather than to the exact beat
This mic setup looks like works the best! Which stands u have?
K&M 210/9 From thomann. 50€ a piece, can't really go wrong with those.
Placement is a bit non traditional, but it sounds very good, and the results are what counts. I'm coming to think that the tuning of the piano might be more important than the mics used provided they meet minimum quality standards and you aren't having any phasing problems.
Absolulutely. I would add: Before mics there's the room and good lubrication because nobody wants to listen to squeaky pedals or a squeaky chair...
are you getting RGB plumes on your rockets and an activate windows logo to?

I got it too, I think it is Waterfall or maybe RO
Love how happy they are all lined up ready to run people out their actuly think its mean these dogs just love to work and please when they dont want to pull any more the lead will sit down and say im done seen it on ididerod good teem sat down and sead dad we dont feel like i yet and he lost but gained my respect
Did this in 99 when I went to the Iditarod. The greatest athletes in the world run naked eat raw meat and sleep in the snow. Mush on
Most sled dogs normally eat raw meat and sleep in the snow, at least outside without heat, from what I know. My mom's siberian husky slept outside and my grandma's samoyed slept outside too, appearantly they BEG to do that and hate staying inside too long in normal situations. It's only that huskies are kept as couch pets and in warmer climates too often They're descendants of the canadian eskimo dog, which obviously were brough from siberia, they need to be exercised and trained I am looking to have a sled team with eskimos, Groenland dogs and yakoutian laïka dogs someday, maybe samoyeds

thanks for the video thinking of getting the same mics for my piano
For the price it´s hard to go wrong.
I hear an annoying resonant frequency at around 2,2 kHz. Does it come from the mics?
All the time? for specific notes? It might be the piano case. I have another recording video (linked) do you hear it there too?
@@StressKind It only appears when you hit some C :) In "Microphone setup test" video too.
What a noble tone...
If you ever get the chance to go Bayreuth, you need to visit the factory / shop! They have more :)
@@StressKind Update, my new piano teacher has a 138 model... played it yesterday, it's absolutely gorgeous...the tone !!! so I came back to your video ;)
Great video. To my ear it's little bit separated. Nevertheless Great piano sound
Separated? Can you elaborate?
Meaning that the lows and highs are little wide apart. It could be really placements of mics and how they are aimed at the keyboard.
I think I know what you mean more. I wanted it transparent sounding and in some aspects I find it more pleasing than the other setup but it's indeed a bit artificial
But for some pieces it sounds really good
OhjeohjeeinReh exactly. I didn’t meant it is artificial or bad. Separation could be a creative thing. It’s great you experiment with the mics and that’s how you find the best option. I too do the same for my U1 but I am not a piano player. I record artists in my studio. Good luck!
B sounds closer to m family's steinway piano. So B.🤣
can i please have the song name? btw that sounds good
It's written by Halvorsen, inspired by a Passacaglia by Händel. Here's me playing the whole thing on my (not a Steingräber) piano: ruclips.net/video/CFs1kzcafI4/видео.html
@@StressKind Thank you very much! I'm now praticing this piece.
@@kientrungmai5598 Cool, have fun.
Good stuff
What is serial number your piano ? ?
I can tell you it was built in Hamburg in 1943. Don´t know the number off the top of my head. Why are you asking?
@@StressKind maybe they're trying to unlock their trial copy?
while theres a noticeable difference in favor of 7, In example 2 I would contend that B was just played better lol 1B definitely sells it to me tho.
Ive had it for a while now and enjoy it a lot. I noticed I use my sample based stuff less with V7
I love this.
The sound quality is fantastic.
Best version
Wow that sounds absolutely fantastic!
Have you experiement with difrent angles and distances and differant positions on the piano ? Is there any differances on the recording ?
Yes, there's one other angle I have recorded: ruclips.net/video/wyTJoCGtgf8/видео.html I've tried other angles but was mostly not too happy since I good too much reverb from the room which is bad since the room does not have good acoustics. In my opinion, the other setup has better clarity but a little less mechanical noise although it's a bit less natural sounding. I haven't found a usable setup with the lid closed or even with the front panel on. This is of course also a limitation of the very cheap microphones.
I didn't hear a lot of difference between the two. In fact, I wasn't able to guess correctly which was which. So the NY Steinway is an improvement, I think, but the older pianos don't seem much changed.
I definitely preferred 7 in both cases and guessed them correctly. It sounds more natural and attractive. As someone else said, there are two Steinways in 7--a NY Steinway and the Hamburg one that's also in 6. So for a totally fair comparison, you should use the Hamburg Steinway on both (although the NY one in 7 might sound better).

Thanks, I also copied it to the description
yup. matches my experience. 7 is def a improvement over 6.
