Welcome to avgeektv - a channel for avgeeks with unique content.
Featuring documentaries, walkthroughs, special events, and our specialty: 'SlowTV'
SlowTV is just that - an entire event shown unedited with out any additional work or sound added. Unlike a traditional film, SlowTV by avgeektv will feature portions or even entire flights from a single perspective (multiple perspectives will be considered for future episodes). For true avgeeks that wish to be part of a longer flight, have a video running in the background, or see a completely different perspective, this is it.
New videos coming soon, and we will have sub channels for subjects with many videos (such as the last passenger DC-10 operated by Biman Bangladesh, and final flights of the Goodyear Blimp). Have content you want to share through avgeektv? Interested in having avgeektv cover an aviation event? Drop us a line or visit our Facebook page:

Sands Aviation 747SP Technical Flight
Просмотров 18 тыс.4 года назад
avgeektv was given the opportunity for a last minute technical flight aboard the Sands Aviation 747SP back in 2016. Because this was an unplanned, last minute event, this was all shot on an iPhone (no time to get all of our cameras which were in California). There are no shots of the interior because this specific aircraft is Sheldon Adelson's personal plane, and therefore considered his home a...

Goodyear Blimp Carson Base Sign Removal
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.4 года назад
This historic and memorable sign stood over the 405 freeway for decades, informing travelers this was home to the Goodyear Blimp. The sign was removed to make way for the new Zeppelin NT which required more space, and to avoid any wind shifts that could jeopardize the airship with the sign.

10:36 That A320 N339NW is still flying in 2024
What a spectacular video!
How old.is that DC10 . Glad they upgraded . About time
It's been a long time but a perk of growing up with a dad who was a hard-working blimp mechanic for Goodyear Airship Operations for 29 years was going up in it about 20 times -- a few in Miami, many during summer tour and most of all from the Carson base in California. I believe that Larry Chambers, the pilot at the beginning of the video, took me up but I don't remember where. My mom was beloved by the pilots and crew too.
Oh my! This brought back so many memories of my dad doing this! He was chief mechanic but always helped the ground crew. In Miami from 1960-1963. And California from 1963-1989. When he was dying in 2004 he was going in and out of consciousness at one point he said "C'mon guys. We have to go out there and hold the line!" And when the blimp was ready to take off, the guys holding the railings around the bottom of the gondola and 1-2-3 jump! I miss him dearly! 💗 As the daughter of a respected crew member I had the good fortune of going up about 20 times over the years.
Both planes "BAe 146 and Avro RJ85" are the same size right? B/C I believe both planes are in the same category which is "200". So, is the difference that one is premium Economy and the other is regular Economy?
just listen to them CF 6s on takeoff
My first overseas flight, love the hump and looking down at 30,000 feet
🧈🧈🧈🧈🧈🧈 landing wow
Thank you for sharing this Wonderful video of the Magnificent DC-8 ✈️💛
Back in 1982 I flew with fellow Kubota Dealers from Tokyo to London on a DC8 refueling in Moscow. Anchorage was snowbound although we had refueled there a week earlier. It was a very long version of the DC8 with six projector screens for the in flight movie. The Cannon Ball Run. It was early March. All we saw out of the window was snow. High in the clouds it was very smooth.
The DC-8 "Super 60s" and "Super 70s" were among the largest jetliners at that time.
Did she get a water salute?
This is so great to watch, especially without all the mostly unnecessary, obnoxious, and redundant narration you usually get with these kinds of things. These cheesy 90s synth music just makes it that much better 😊
Love this video! Thanks so much for sharing. The bowling shoe livery has got to be the best livery on an aircraft, especially the 747, 727 and DC-10. Probably best logo too - I've always loved the many images-in-one ("N", "W" and compass that points northwest 😍)
Wow!
was on that flight. 2008. awhile ago now
The visuals on them simulators were pretty amazing for that time, I'm guessing this was 80s or early 90s.. yet we had to wait till 1997 to get something similar or at least 96. Gone all weird now though because 20 years ago we had ATC and various other features that have vanished from the later flightsims or have not been as well done xD but killer graphics..

@37:00 WHERE ARE THE 2024 OSHA REPS
@31:10 the Japanese are so freaking sweet. We make fun of our domestic airlines but the Japanese show such an appreciation for how far we have come in creating and pioneering this industry. And @11:26 was awesome people watching of MSP in the 90s. Anyways God bless Japan and God bless the USA
The music brings back old 80s vibes with NWA.....
Thanks for this video !! I especially lpved the pilots doing their checklist in the cockpit. I sorely miss Northwest and all the airlines that have have gone out of business or merged. I miss the glory days of aviation. There must be some way, that we can get back the fun and excitement of air travel again.😔
9:38 what epic footage and sound!!
When did JAL retire the DC-8?
1987. This footage is a record of DC-8’s last flight in JAL.
i CAN FLY THIS BLIMP NO LIMBS NO CO POILT SHIT IS SNAIL AVIATION
Too bad the flying public is a bunch of disgusting animals now.
Nice to watch all you guys in your jobs. May the Good Lord above watches over you all in the aircraft and on the Land. ❤ 🎉 Watching from New Zealand.
They just bring the oldest A380 qantas to service
I know Neptune Aviation uses 8 or 9 (depending on the source) for aerial firefighting out west
Great to see 757s without winglets !!!❤ And the Air Tahiti Nui A340 had one of the most beautiful liveries. ❤❤❤ The American Airlines " aluminum can" livery was so stunning !!! I hated that the company changed it to those red and blue " piano keys".😮 Did you work at LAX ? Because I noticed that this footage was on the tarmac. What was your job ?
My favorite plane! And favorite airliner

The double bed suites were actually on Singapore A380s rather than Qantas
I never knew Elyse Keaton from Family Ties was an architect and a Northwest flight attendant too ? There she is 11:56 , blond hair and everything going to work .
Memories. Always too that Northwest DC-10 with that red painted number 2 tail engine always got your attention.
Goodyear bye😔😔
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooopooooooooooo
Why do Americans insist on calling Tom Bradly International Terminal.....(Airport ) 🤔
Fascinating video.
Great Video I am a 747 GEEK I live 3 miles from ORD between 2 runways and on arrival they are 1800 feet up and you know that sound and I always look up.
I would give my right tit to even see one in person. I’m from the Scottish highlands and have never flown in anything but work and coastguard helicopters and poxy wee a319/20s. To fly on a 747 of any variant would be amazing, but the SP is something very special.
Unexpected surprise. Thank you.
I didn’t want this video to end. Such amazing footage. I’d just started my airline career (Sept 2001) on the ramp. Did it for 2 years and then became an FA. Ramp views were the absolute best. I miss the Silver AA livery so much. And Northwest - like seeing an old friend. The industry is so drab compared to how it used to be. This era was the beginning of the end for many airlines. Thanks for sharing.
September 2001 huh.....
5:32 cool how much the wings drop as they stop producing lift
Sad.
Too many babbling selfies about themselves and not enough blimp.
Name of the instrumentals at 12:53, 29:30 and 47:06?
What a beautiful ship!! I miss those gorgeous machines!
This captain is not one that I would like to fly with. He is going on a long haul and he seems already tense at the gate taxiing
