    Well done Mountain rescue! I know what its like to be a casualty. I've been in an ambulance more than once. So good to keep conversation light to reassure casualty. Top marks to you guys, so good to know you're there if or when.

  • @breiffnihogan4136
    @breiffnihogan4136 Год назад

    Another good video. Couple of points though. I think you're using too many layers, I use just three proper layers, easier to manage. Gaiters are always a must anytime on the mountains! Also why would anyone wear gaiters over waterproof trousers!?! Anyway great as always to watch such videos, it helps a lot.

    So very diffent from what we had at RAF Mountain Rescue Service, RAF Harpur Hill when I was there late 1950s into the 60s. All the vehicales we had were just the trucks that were in general service. That was when I was in my late teens, time flys by so very fast, now at 82. But I didn't stay there for very long, perhaps two years, then got posted to RAF Wellsbourne Mountford, 5003 Airfield Constrution for a few years, then to RAF Stafford. All around, many good times to remember. Just got to learn to spell now.

    I'd add a PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) a small signaling mirror and something to start a fire. An auxillary external battery pack with a USB cable to your cellphone works well and doesn't take up too much space. Last... it's always wise to inform a friend or family member about when you're leaving/returning and the general route that you'll be taking.
