A quick google search and I found this. I have created a song in 13/16 time in a currently unreleased album (although it could be considered 13/8), and I, as a musician, can confidently say that this is fucking awesome. Great job, especially for such a limiting and odd time signature!

It still takes a certain skill and technique to get that wonderful double bass pedal sound we all love. The pedal doesnt suck and neither do you for purchasing it. It takes up less space than a real double bass. Your foot will need to be trained to use it, so aside from not having the linkage bar and full 2nd pedal your rockin a double bass pedal. Once you get that heel/toe technique down you'll be jamming bro. Keep working at it and dont let the internet trolls bother you or tell you it's not a real double bass pedal. It probably takes more skill to use that pedal than the big and bulky 2 pedals, the linkage bar that connects your slave pedal to the main. I'm loving how much room you save by having both beaters and pedals to push the beaters all on one pedal. Your right leg is going to be huge so make sure you work out that left calf muscle lol. Thanks for the video and the little demo. I would of love to have seen it without the snare stand in the way :) keep rocking!

This is a 'cheater pedal' in the same way a conventional double pedal is a 'cheater pedal.' That's like saying a car is a cheater horse. Apples and oranges. As long as it gets the sound you desire, who cares?

dude, it wouldve been better if you didnt try narating while using the pedal in a demo cuz its hard to hear what your saying over the beaters... but, i do like this pedal and i want to get 2 of them!

As Brett says below this can be done with a regular pedal. I have been working on this technique for a few months now and it is a PAIN, but very cool when you get it. I learned it from a free video from Drumeo (my new favorite YT destination. As for cheating, this is a very cool tool, nothing more, just like remotes HiHats, dual snares, etc......

Dude this is a really good job. Unlike most people that attempt TT, you actually bothered to learn the polyrhythmic hi-hat ostinato in the mid-section. Out of interest, what sticking did you choose in the end? Or did you muscle it with singles for the most part?

Hello Wesley, As I mention that technique can be done with a standard pedal. It took years to come to me by chance. Like the shuffle beat on bass drum 1st & 3rd note of triplet. The distance between 3rd note & back to 1st of triplet is only one note away. So I was figuring it's the same with 1st & 2nd or 2nd to 3rd note of triplet. Thats when I discovered the double with foot. Now if you do the 3 note samba pattern like on cymbal on foot that is when you'll need to do technique explained above.

Just look up Guido Wyss. He has two of the Sonor Pedals that are like this. He is insane at it.

Yeah I'm working on that kind of technique now. Not something I was very good at or particularly aware of back when I made this video. I need to start playing around with this pedal again. It's just been sitting around my drumset basically since I made this haha.

You'll have better results dropping your leg. I do this with my heel then toe for double notes. I do this with regular pedal. With three notes in a row I drop leg with the heel hitting around or slightly above hing on board for 1st note. Then drop foot to allow it to do rebound for 2nd note. Then roll foot forward for 3rd note. If you search for it online you'll find examples. Also, the leg drop helps with power (volume). The farther the beater is adjusted from head the louder it will be too.

I would see George Kollias playing with two of these, for a total of four pedals, mother of god...

@dwsnare i have a dualist too. its an ok pedal. not what i want tho. i want to work for my speed man :) no cheating. and i've never tried the sleishman but you know to each his own right?

look up the drummer of henker , he uses the sonor pedals but with 2 bassdrums, and its insane. i got iron cobras, an older pair of tama double pedals, tried afew pearl ones and i must say these cannon pedals are fun as hell. Ive been looking into axis longboards and i think il have to get them one day aswell but the twin effect pedals with training .... omnomnomnom and the price is awesome , the quality seems no less than my iron cobras.

@Milkman3407 honestly your choice. i have this pedal more just for fun. I own the axis longboards and they are fantastic. you can get heel toe on those pretty well. cost wise this canon pedal is waaay less expensive then axis but if you have the money i'd say axis. they are amazing pedals

Hey I'm looking for some new peddles cuz mine are crappy. But I use heel toe. I was looking into getting axis al-2 longboards but would these be easier and cheaper???

@dMephistopheles3 to be honest i don't have much of an opinion. one of those pedals i bought cuz it looked fun. and it is fun. i believe this pedal is more for the player with a single pedal who is not great with the double, but likes to add in a couple extra beats once in awhile. if you get two, haha go crazy

I'm guessing you have the heel adjusted all the way up? 10 years of heel toe and this pedal is kicking my ass

@shawnpriest I think this is a natural step forward for bass drum pedals if I'm honest. I don't see it as cheating, someone has thought logically about heel toe and said well add another beater for the heel stroke. Makes perfect sense to me, at least it requires another stroke unlike the dualist, now that is a monstrosity. In fact I bet this pedal can drastically improve heel toe performance on any pedal.

@shawnpriest dude. i can play 210-220 using the axis pedals. love them. don't need heel toe. this pedal is just for fun. just to use for some fun effects. i do not plan on trying to use this for actual double bass playing. and its not a monstrosity. its just fun.

You should just learn heal toe on a axis long board or pearl demon drive. It takes skill and practice but its better than this monstrosity.
