That's very much the Orthodox perspective, which is why we have sacraments like confession, where you have to confess even thoughts. And yes, you do have to fight inner temptation also. You can read about the lives of some saints to see what they went through and how they fought. Theosis is very much internal and external. Obviously you're probably more educated on esoteric principles than me, but surely fighting inner temptation isn't actually esoteric? Esoteric means, from my understanding, many layered. Gnosis is an example of an esoteric belief, for example. Do you believe in Gnosis?
