N0GIY:November-ZERO-Google-It-Yourself!
Добавлен 29 ноя 2011
Call me Q, I love amateur radio, music and learning. Join me in making our lives better for ourselves and those around us.
Amateur Radio or Ham Radio, is the love of radio. We can use physics, science, engineering and math along with mother nature to make many things possible that were unachievable without the usage of radios.
N0GIY is my FCC-issued call sign. Originally issued to my Great-Grandfather, Oswald Rodi, he is now a silent key.
N0GIX is my wife's call sign. Originally issued to my Great-Grandmother, Bernice Rode, she is now a silent key.
AC0HN is my father's call sign. He is an amateur extra who lives in Austin Texas.
I may sometimes make content that is off-topic, but in general, I am very obsessed with a pretty narrow range of hobbies. If there's ever anything I can do to help you, please let me know. I offer consulting on a wide variety of technical topics.
Current: CCENT, CIOS, CSIS, A+, Network+, Security+, Project+, Cloud Essentials, Linux Essentials, ITIL, TEFL.

Great channel I’ve subscribed
Ahoy Capten, let me be knowin' if yer ships need tendin' while yer in port!
Saw your bass video yesterday. You’re great on guitar too
That means a lot, stranger. You're clearly a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you and remember the art is inside you always!
Are you in ZZ Top. Btw great playing
I've never been disciplined enough to be in a band, but I find learning as much as possible about music brings me to whole new levels of enjoyment and understanding when I listen to other's who DO have the discipline to sit down and put the hours in!
I love your bass
My bass loves you too! I love bass!!!!
Bass
Bass be with you brøther!
Good bass, bass man!
yah man, slap da bass man!
cool video man this tone is nice
you must have a great ear to hear how amazing this bass is despite my terrible technique and awful recording..... I put my phone on the amp instead of running anything through the audio interface. This bass is SO MUCH FUN!!! I wish I started with this than jumping straight into 5 string because I thought it was more "metal" as a kid. :P
I want to keep practicing until I can play with no stops or slowdowns and can add more variety. 😃
I find slapping the bottom of the fretboard gets me a more consistent sound
@@ogmudbone2334 that's interesting, I'm not sure I would've ever thought of that.... I'll have to give it a try!
Can you make a video for about 10 minutes describing one instrument how it sounds for the viewer. And then list information like what types of genre this instrument might be used in the past. You're going to need an open jingle when the video for RUclips starts. Hello my name is and we're going to show you this instrument and how it sounds. Make an exciting adventure for those that are between 5 and 9 years old. And then you'll need to sign off jingle. That you use every time you sign off on your RUclips. The world is at your fingertips. I know you could make too much money. The title is important too.
That sounds amazing, would you be interested in running and editing the channel? I can send you videos and you'd have to piece them all together. DX
So does that mean since they were linked illegally and people paid for the use of it being liked, are those people going to be refunded?
Hello David, good luck getting a refund from the FCC or anyone else!

And play.
OK you should to play dueling banjos
Pretty good!
OH GOD MY EARS, why did you agree to record this for me, RUclips!??!
lol “pi-star” 😂
WPSD is a fork of Pi-Star. I guess it is a funny name now that you mention it. :P
Can not find any documentation on parrot style repeaters. Want to know if it is allowed on gmrs. From what I can see is that gmrs repeaters transmit on 462. And recieve on 467. Parrot style devices transmit and recieve on the same channel. So are parrot style devices allowed?
@@garyday6681 The rules have been clarified more since I made this video. What you are describing is called a simplex repeater. Instead of repeating what is being said on another frequency, it waits until the transmission is complete and then repeats it on the same frequency. As long as you're not using a simplex repeater as a node to send traffic over the Internet, you are okay.
@@N0GIY Thank you. I learned alot. Would have been easyer to just buy a part 95 radio. But now I know how to program and all the menus. If I do use my sr112 repeater will make sure to have proper radios. Those uv5rs do alot just using to listen only. But makes you want take tech test. Advice just buy gmrs radios to begin with.
@@garyday6681 I highly highly highly recommend getting your tech and general license before buying any more radios! The FCC seems to want to shut down any experimentation or fun on GMRS, it's meant to be easily bought and used right off the shelf. Lots of ham radios can be opened up for GMRS and adapted for countless other use cases, whereas GMRS radios are stuck with whatever firmware they were sent to you with. I have lots of firmware updates I should probably install..... GMRS is great for using with friends, family and non-radio folks. The fact that you're commenting on a youtube video, however, makes me think you'd enjoy hamstudy.org and all the benefits that come with your tech license. Once you're licensed, you can download ECHOLINK for PC, android or IOS and talk all over the world. From there, you can set up access points, nodes, repeaters, hubs, hotspots, radios, mobiles, portables, HT"s, POTA kits, QRP kits, etc. The world becomes your oyster.
Excellent hams....
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nice. WRWV899/KJ5DOT
Very useful. I just picked up one of these, and this gives me a better understanding of what I’m dealing with here. Rock on 🤘
The only thing I’ve heard about getting GMRS channels to extend range in the sky is tropospheric ducting when it’s overcast.
The Frequency is (3927)
The secret to cell is the towers
True, but the difference is we don't own the cell phone towers. With radios, you can have your own infrastructure.
I cant hit the repeater with a handheld but a 50W and a Nagoya base antenna @ 40 ft I can. Its a linked repeater and Ive talked to both coasts and way up north. WRPQ 991

Hi from turkey !! Do you have an instagram ?
Sorry no instagram or anything. I just play for fun. Do you play? I'd love to visit turkey and see doumbek and oud music in person!
@@N0GIY If you come to turkey one day , i would like to play together and show you around dude !
This sounds awful.... I sure wish I could play like actual songs some day on banjo. I also need to change strings and skin to see if I can get a softer sound. It's very fun and relaxing to play.
Tell her we said hi back!
She watches my videos and is the sole member of my fan club. :D Paprikash and Potato Gnocchi was excellent with hungarian paprika, now we're ordering more from Hungary!
What a toilet. Are they related to the 7.200 bunch? 😄
This was a fun memory for me to keep. <3
lol like in the Hobbit
Sorry, but it's from Fellowship of the Ring when the hobbits set out with Strider and hijinks ensue!!
😮
But what if they want a thiiiird breakfisht
Shhhh, nobody has told them that we eat three times a day .... They seem okay with twice daily feeding!
>shortly after the end of the video the cats had their second breakfast
They sometimes trick their non-fur mama into second breakfast since we wake up at slightly different times. LOL
I hope you clean your air filter and coils on that unit often, cuz your return air unit is sucking up all that cat hair if that’s the cats common spot.
I have a pet vacuum and I have to constantly vacuum the metal grate and change the AC filter more than recommended... We buy special filters that are supposed to absorb allergens and cat hair.... He has a place he goes to warm up and this is his place. He goes to cool off apparently LOL
What language is this?
It's one of my favorite lines from Lord of the Rings LOL
That black cat is built like a soot sprite.
Our cat is definitely a fan of studio ghibli's spirited away LOL
did you shred the mozzarella?>! I have sub'd and have alerts on to find out! Waiting for the update....
His little claw was stuck, oh noes!
Your welcome! Thanks for making improvements on the live stream!
You’re a man of many instruments. Thats awesome.
Sounds good to me
Do they still make nextel gmrs radios
Nextel, I don't know anything about honestly... But based on some quick research, they are owned by Motorola and Motorola is one of the largest producers of two-way radios in the world! Here's a list compiled by my buddy Darren, WRCU527: members.swcrs.org/2019/12/14/list-of-repeater-capable-gmrs-radio/ COMMERCIAL EQUIPMENT LASTS FOREVER!!!
Tid radio h3
Good afternoon are there any gmrs radios that actually go more than 5 miles I brought the titration multi band h3 and I can not reach family in different county
Unfortunately, without building a tower on one or both ends, simplex may not be possible. You could however, set up a repeater at either site and use a horizon calculator to calculate the required height. Otherwise, you might look into experimenting with CB or even better both parties getting their ham license and communicating over HF, otherwise known as short wave. skip!
VHF and UHF radios, whether they be on the HAM bands, or FRS and GMRS frequencies are all line of sight radios. Get on Google, search My GMRS, and look for a GMRS repeater in your area.
So you're saying the signal is going hundreds of miles up then hundreds of miles down to the receiving station 😳 You know how bonkers that actually sounds❓ This is what they teach and it's quite fricking ridiculous.
That's how we can talk off of satellite repeaters and bounce signals off the moon or launch weather balloons that only transmit a few miliwatts. As long as there's nothing blocking the line of sight, you are good to go!
@@N0GIY look I get it I really do. In 2017 I came to a realisation that this is not the case. I no longer subscribe to the heliocentric model. Don't get me wrong, I didn't just leap into this understanding it had taken a short while to get to grips with this new information. Of course like anybody would is to challenge that information and it got to the point where quite honestly I began to understand. At first it's ridicule throwing it out of the window but I figured it out for myself. Someone to look up David Weiss definitely check him out.
@@nxesr I can demonstrate with radio propagation that the world is round, but I am uncertain where the heliocentric model comes in. You don't think the sun is the center of the solar system? Whatever your beliefs on philosophy and the universe, none of that has any effect on radio propagation. Round earth makes the most sense based on how different radio bands behave. Flat Earth would actually make radio 1000x more fun honestly....
@@nxesr That just makes you wrong.
@@terryparker1694 think about it a signal is transmitted in 360 degrees unless you're directional. What on earth is the signal doing going all the way up and then all the way down❓ A transmission will always go across but if you're higher up whatever that height might be the transmission will be picked up by the receiving station equipment. This does not mean it's bouncing off of anything.
