Loved this show. It is interesting to note that Susan is Stockard's real given name. Loved her performance in Grease which in my opinion, was an Oscar caliber performance!

He says there was nothing between the lions and the actors, there was no way they could escape or defend themselves if the cats decided to attack. I have just discovered this show from a video about 1979 mid-season replacements... anyway, I never knew this show even existed. I was 14 in '79 and loved the music (the Comiskey Park incident still traumatizes me) and had just met Stockard in Grease. She had a TV movie where she is a lower class woman who is saddled with a couple of older kids... I'd have to look it up, but she was SO different from her Rizzo character. I am so glad to have found this over the last day and thank you so much for posting it. I am enjoying what I am seeing so far and can't help but think it should be revamped and brought out again. It is powerful and real and timeless. Her issues in '79 are universal and the whole gym thing is just as current now as it was then. Remember Barbra Streisand taking the fitness class in The Main Event?

Watched this show when I was a kid as it first aired. I must say I found Ms Channing to be quite crush-worthy.

Of course, I never hung out in gyms or spas in the 70s. I was still counting my age on my fingers. But I don't remember seeing a lot of guys wearing pants like that on tv. If I'd seen this I would have been like, Mom, I can kinda see his... Thing!

Wow I loved this show. I wish I can find the one about the ziegenfuss force, that one was hilarious.

I love Stockard Channing and never saw this show but what a mess. The writing is just terrible and its a shame in the scene where she confronts her husband is handled like your typical lame sitcom with canned laughter when it should have been more dramatic.

I was around in this decade. I have absolutely no recollection of this show. at any rate, in the opening scene at the airport, her friend looked like a younger Mimi Kennedy, was it her?

I lived through this decade. Early on, it convinced me to stop watching television altogether and this is a good example why. Ugh.

This was a good show!! It was on in '79- (post GREASE). It was simple & enjoyable! I think Stockard truly loved doing this show! I only saw it a few times when it was actually on... thank God for RUclips!!
