Founded ten years ago, the Next Moves Modern Dance Company is the premiere showcase of original, cutting-edge choreography and exceptional performers in Cagayan de Oro City in the Southern Philippines. It explores and expresses the complexly constituted reality of Mindanao without exoticizing the multicultural landscape - it instead closes in on and celebrates both the epic and intimate dynamics of all our common humanity.
It is currently under the artistic direction of Roger Ensomo Odron, three-time winner and Hall of Fame awardee in the National Modern Dance Competition under the aegis of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts in the Philippines. Under Odron’s leadership, Next Moves has matured, treating its audiences with vital dance experiences that continue to engage them in dialogue about life and our world at the brink.
