G&R Tigercat M726E Tracks System
Let me introduce you to our latest G&R Manufactured Solutions steel tracks design for shorter wheel based forestry equipment. This much needed system is slightly smaller and lighter on its feet, and perfect for smaller compact skidders, wheeled feller-bunchers and mulching machines. Here you see it working its heart out on a Tigercat M726E dedicated mulcher, in some of the worst conditions.
Like its current generation bigger brother, this system's newly updated manufactured components are custom engineered around today's commonly available modern construction equipment undercarriage components. You can have the best equipment , but if you have as fruit loop for a operator you done nothing lol 🤣
This might have been ok in some remote jungle 50 years ago, now it's just criminal
The narrow tracks are not going to make it when it starts raining
They are a beast with tracks. 😎👍
This operator needs a few lessons
Idiot
Allegro filmy OD JCB
😮
Butcher job 😮👎👎
Does the tracks were out fast
I worked in the woods for 20 years and this is awsome
He needs to learn how to fill his grapple instead of grabbing two trees at a time
Why
I know there’s a time and place for these but not all of the time. Too much steel on steel. We run 535s and only get 1 1/2 years out of our ring chains. That’s 10,000 $ for all four every year and a half for just chains. These things have to be double that price I would assume.
Geezuz buck it at a over length so u can get out easier. 14 yrs as former BC Canada logger.
Man I remember when Timberjack came out with their track skidder.
I ran a cable skidder in the mountains. I think rubber tires served me well. Never worked on really soft ground, just steep ground.
Looks a lot like the same setup Timberjack used years ago on their steel track machines.
Auto B. Arrested for destruction of forest.
Love to see how they work in 20 below 0, with 3feet of snow and ice on the ground, no better place to try them ,
Man you get A camper put on that chassi there is all most no where you couldn't camp... great video 👍👍👍👍
It drives right over them tops well id be alert to big buts geting cought behing drive wheel
I love green skiders sense they where orange i ran 360 and 460s they where tippy on side but up and down streight fw they would impress me
Ill bet its amazing something you wouldent want a disrespectfull kid or man runing looks expensive to maintain
Bound to have issues on steep , rocky ground .
Timberjack made a skidder just like that years ago that they reccommended especially for steep, rocky ground.
You would need back surgery after a day of pulling with that tracked sob ..the hell with that give me my ol 632 tigercat with good rubber and I'll put pull that track skidder all day long
When is the best time to harvest trees?
As a Forest Harvester Operator I will never understand the use of Skidders in thinning jobs. They destroy all the new growth and make the thinning useless. Might as well just clear cut everywhere a skidder is used. Harvester heads and forwarders would be so much more efficient. Sure some places might want full length trees but you would have so much more timber to work with if you didn't destroy all the new growth. Granted this is coming from someone who has been working in a country that actually tries to preserve it's forests.
Careful operators and proper trail layout can make a world of difference. In my opinion the worst problem with rubber tire skidders is soil compaction.
Here in California we can’t even brush up against standing trees, let alone knock them down while skidding. Lol.
Looks prone to running a track off tho
I like the tracks for ground pressure and traction. That grapple works great with a feller buncher other wise cable and chokers would have a lot less damage to the woods.
I used a Esco swinging grapple and considered it to cause less damage than cable and chokers.
Natural criminals 😔
The traction is unbelievable, just curious though mate , is the wear and tear expenses, fuel etc per month or year comparable to rubber tyres?, anyhow I loved this video 10/10.
.
I've been a skidder operator for the last 18 years and I would love to have one of these
I bet the ride would be a little jumpy but smooth at the same time I currently operate a tiger cat 620 h series
Trees what trees.
We found them 18-20% more expensive to run, but beats the hell out of not working. Nice to have an income while your competitor sits at home.
Seems like trouble in the making. I am referring to the open sprocket and large diameter sprocket where trees can get in there needs a more closed plated area.
I’d imagine there would still be ruts but they would most likely go deeper into the ground with less width but easier to manage nonetheless the less
did You consider putting bulldozer blade on front of the machine?
It would be awesome to see a set on a 635 tigercat, the big 6 wheel skidder!!
yes sure but it should tailor suited tracks because this machine is huge and they have measure it then do a little calculation on this one concerning mass pressure on the ground this may take a little but it is possible
