As a child back in the early 90's, this was magic. The synthesized voice opener was such a jumpstart to excitement.

I got to see this show in 2001 when I was 7 years old, it was amazing and so magical! During Alladin or be our guest one of the dancing objects ran past me and playfully flicked my Minnie ear on my Minnie hat😊 my dad taped the whole show and our whole trip so I can watch it at home. I can’t wait to go back someday because I miss the park soooooo much. I was also very lucky to meet Quasimodo in California Adventure on the same trip that year. ❤

I was at that show parked right next to the old fire station right at Aquatic Park Pier, by complete and total luck! I took my aunt's place on a vacation she was supposed to take my mother on, but instead I did with my mother because my aunt had to cancel about a week before. This was the first trip my mother was taking since my father had passed away 1yr 5mos earlier at 54y! There was no way I was going to let my mother cancel it altogether wish she was going to do and thankfully when she told me I told her absolutely not! I'll go instead! I mean she had never been to California anywhere and it was a bucket list for her and I would be damned if she wasn't going to be able to experience it and see as much as she did oh we did the nine days we spent out there! First 5 days, 4 nights in SF! Ssmhe was looking forward to it as a new beginning having been so depressed after losing her husband of 33yrs, my Dad, who she had been with since she was 16 years old!. He was 54yr old, 5 months short of 55. My Mom was actually 54 on that trip, also 5 months shy of 55. And as I'm writing this that's the first time I realized that and even more weird I just turned 55! Anyhow, neither she nor I knew it was Fleet Week, we just happened upon it but how lucky we were that we did! Or was it something else?🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyhow our first night we were at a restaurant on Pier 39, which was buzzing. How many sailors around and large Navy battleship docked close by so we asked about the ship that was docked and that's when we found out it was Fleet Week and also told that the Blue Angels show was the next afternoon! I couldn't believe our luck! Having seen the Air Force's Thunderbirds twice at that time, I couldn't wait to see the Blue Angels for the first time! And for it to be over San Francisco Bay in the shadows of the Golden Gate Bridge, it became surreal! I told my mother she was going to love it! We had plans to go to The Muir Woods that day, so we decided to go early in the morning and time it up so that we were back to hopefully get a spot along the waterfront which is where we were told to go fir the best viewing! But then we got hung up in traffic before the tolls on the Golden Gate heading back, and while we were sitting still the old World War II relics were flying right at us and then went under the bridge as we were sitting on an in traffic in complete disbelief! I think I read somewhere that the planes aren't allowed underneath anymore. If that is true that's too bad that was one of the coolest parts of the show! Now it was a race to get down to the waterfront area before the Blue Angel's portion of the show began. There was no GPS of course back then; I was going purely on my good sense of direction which thankfully I got from my mother and why I pursued my cartography in college 8yrs earlier! Anyhow as we're finally getting down to where all the traffic is flowing for the show, I just turned and took a left by chance onto the road which unbeknownst to me was the road that eventually lead us right down to the Aquatic Park Pier! I just kept following the car in front of me and despite cars turning around and taking turns off that drive/road, because it looked like you couldn't go down, I just kept going and I was driving past police that weren't saying anything until we happened upon the beginning of the pier. And I just pulled up kind of right next to that old fire station and was going to leave because it didn't look like I could park there but then all of some people were pulling in behind me parking and getting out of their car and that's what we did. The police around there just said just make sure you leave as soon as the show's over so you're not blocking anybody. They were telling all of us that we're parking there. You know as well as I in today's day that would never happen but 1997, BINGO! I GOT BINGO! Little did I know that was where the reviewing stage & VIP area was for the show! Out at the end of that pier. Seriously what are the odds, I still say to myself 26 years later! I really had no clue where I was going and was just following other cars but I knew I was going in the general direction of that waterfront area. It definitely was a higher power being in control and I'd like to think it was my dad because I do believe in God and I felt almost an outer body experience, & I looked up into the sky has the show began and felt like my father directed us there! I kept trying to tell my mother what it was going to be like and she had no clue but the first time the planes roared by, I watched/looked at her and she had a face of utter joy and amazement! Couldn't believe what she was seeing! I felt the same way watching them fly under the Golden Gate to the left & all over the Bay! Seamlessly flying out from behind the apartment buildings on the top of the hills behind us. I just couldn't believe it! Without a doubt one of the best experiences of my life made even more special because it was experienced with my Mother. Typically I shared with two other siblings, lol but this time it was just me and my Mom! A great & cherished experience. A memory fir a lifetime! One you can never duplicate! To this day, my mother still brags about the trip her son took her on to San Francisco! From how it started with my aunt's cancellation to all that we experienced along the way from SF to LA via the PCH, the scenic routes and tourist places we visited, so many beautiful sights & scenery along the way but that day out to the Muir Woods then driving back across the Golden Gate into San Francisco and seeing the Blue Angels over the San Francisco Bay, was the highlight of the trip for me looking back! And just seeing that joy in my Mother's eyes and expression, something I hadn't seen since my father passed, it made me feel good. I can't wait to show her this! She's in a nursing home now but I can guarantee you once I show this to her she will brag to her roommate about her trip to California with her son! Sorry for the novel! I think you can tell what it meant to me as well! ty✌

As much as I love _Curse of the Black Pearl,_ I genuinely wish I could’ve seen this ride back in its heyday. You know, when it was about pirates in general (and what pirates generally did) rather than Jack Sparrow being inserted into almost every scene. I do still love Barbossa manning the attacking ship, though. Jack can probably be allowed to make _one_ cameo but not dominate the ride the way he does these days. Maybe the “dog with keys” scene. Look, I was literally born one year before this was recorded (maybe even younger), so I’m almost certainly biased in wanting a _couple_ film elements to stay, but I also feel like it shouldn’t come at the expense of what the ride is really all about. Y’know?

They need to bring back break of the 2 solos during the delta loop at the top

Thanks for posting.. just shared with my kids. One of my favorite parades… the acrobats lived in the apartment complex my wife and I lived at. We’d see them rehearse in the alley where the cars parked. Really spectacular stuff.
