My newly acquired X350 makes a rattling sound when being started. My mechanic believes it's from the timing chains, but the opinion in the forums point towards the supercharger. Here the engine is started without the s/c connected. Please note that my microphone has problems, causing the sound to drop randomly. This was at the 40th AvD Oldtimer-Grand-Prix 2012 which was on the 12th of August 2012. The first three E-Types get in each other's way which results in a nice spin for all three. A bit tragic for the leader as he ended up somewhere in the rear.

As I have just been told, the name of this song is Put Your Lights on, but Nick has a nice backing solo throughout the whole thing, which he does very nicely inspite of looking quite serious about it.

After a few days' worth I was finally able to get the Pocher Mercedes window crank to work. It works very smoothly, too. The crank istelf was scratch built for testing. It will be replaced with kit items later.

After the successfull ground runs, our B-17 prototype takes to the air. A little more weight was needed up front to improve landing approaches.

This is the second time we took the B-17 to the flying field and after we moved the CoG a bit she was much easier to handle in landings than before.

are you "the" CD scale designs?- im tossing up whether to get me an se5a or the sop snipe...heard lots of good things..
oh and dont give me the standby argument about "sound". there are some awesome electric sound systems now that will sound MUCH better than any glow or petrol engine ever would. you can even get the EXACT sound for this plane...man i would put my head into one of those props if it took that much effort to get flying.

Oops! It was summer 1941, of course.
It is only primed at the moment. We're hoping to paint it this spring to have it ready for the upcoming flying season. It will be painted in RAF colours, haha - no kidding! 90 Squadron RAF used these B-17s in the summer of 1942. Wingspan is just above 10' or 3meters, it weighs 44lbs and is powered by four OS .52 four strokes.
whats a waste of time is people like you bitching. The title of the video clearly states GROUND runs!
I'm surprised people ask if it flew or make comments like 'a waste of time' etc. If you check out the related videos sidebar or hit the More From CTDavies link, you can see at least two videos showing how this model flies. Some people seem to be unable to see beyond the tips of their noses...
I remember seeing the early designs on RCScalebuilder what seems like years ago ( I'm 'USAAF in Europe', 1/6 scale B-17G 'Hang The Expense' owner ). Nice to finally see the B-17C in the air. Steve
