Tony CSA Vincent - 25 years on - Sleepwalk

Tony used to famously describe this number and many other slow numbers as "Getting to grips music" or sometimes "Getting your nuts in music", how many of you "Got to grips" to this one whilst listening to him playing it, usually with a roll-up in his mouth?

Another offering from the 'CSA Home Recordings' tape. This is one of my favourites because it shows Tony's skills on lead guitar.
Tony CSA Vincent - 25 years on - Breeze and I

Tony was as good an instrumentalist as he was a vocalist. This number was possibly the first instrumental that he learned and played on a regular basis along with 'Sleepwalk' that I will also be putting on here.

It is 25 years since we lost Tony to throat cancer. I have a cassette tape entitled CSA Home Recordings and thought it appropriate at this time to share it on here. Over the next few days I will put more on. Hope you like these as much as I do.

Hi Tony, I was given a few photos from fans, some on vhs and some on paper via Johnnie SS when we made the 'Life and Times' video in '96 or '97. Was impossible to give individual credit to the original owners, hope you don't mind that I used it. I have been sent some audio recordings from Sticks White of Tony and CSA at the Tigers Head and Breen Sands I believe it to be and will putting them up on my channel in due course, so some of the pics I have will be used again to backdrop the music - watch this space.

The day Tony Died was the same day a huge void opened in the world of British Rock n Roll. He was the 'Castrol R' lubricant that kept so many Venues running. The Man, His Guitar work, His Vocal talent (Tony The Voice Vincent) & his undoubted Talent for helping to keep so many different types pf genres & age groups mixing together. From Rockers To Teds, Back Patch motorbike boys to Rockerbillies From Kids to Great, Great Grand Parents. Tony was that man that got people of their armchairs & helped keep the Scene alive.. His way of signing of a phone call was simply "God Bless"' ! Well I hope he his Blessed & Keeping all those who have since passed away, entertained in the after world of Rock n Roll. He was a friend & someone I miss, even 27 yrs on. Lenny P.

Hi Alan. I first met Tony at the castle in tooting. Great a man, times & days. Now at 68 a rocker-teddy boy & back to an old rocker. If that's the brother John Sutton he's an I friend. Were ever Tony played I would get there. It was me that told Tony about Ramrod at the blue anchor croydon. Streatham was my home, I still see Kenny 'triton' Smith. I worked at LCI Philips beddington at the time Tony left us a sad day for all.

Hi, nice to hear from you, yes I remember Frank well but unfortunately i have no other footage of him playing other than what i used for the Life and Times Video. My mum and your grandmother were old school friends and i and Tony used to go to her house in Worcester Park with my mum from a young age and that is how Tony and Frank became best friends. I also remember that Sutton was not his birth name, but can't just remember what it was.

I’m sorry to hear that Tony died, and so young too. I was a big fan around 77 when they played at The Half Moon in Herne Hill. Saw them at a couple of other venues too, one in Clapham and another just off the Walworth Rd, Near East St? Nice to see Terry on here, I loved his bass playing, Is he still around? Best wishes, Andy

When he sung a 'Slow' Number Like ThisTony actually would say, "Time To Get Yer Nuts In'... & at half time he'd say, "Time For A Piss 'n' A Pint" ?! I Gotta say I have to agree, Tony was one highly Gifted/Talented great bloke... Sadly the only thing he Lacked was the Hunger to make it Big, he was happiest playing Local for his 'Mates'.. I offered to help promote him when at the time I'd made a few contacts that would have helped him go National (as did Waxie Maxie-R.I.P) but Tony just smiled & pressed on... Lovely Bloke with a big Heart... Greatly missed, even 25 after his death... There is no one else who comes near to taking his place on the Rock n Roll scene...
