I understand the the shipboard crane and its rigging probably have a high capacity. Yet, there seem to be too many hands who are standing beneath the crane as it's being held.
MY question is, lifting by the outriggers how safe is that? what if the ship itself tilts.Of course with such a heavy lift all the other cranes are supposed to hold up while this lift is being performed.I am just questioning how secure is it having the lift cables, in what appears to be in a position where slippage could occur...
@vxss6slot Whoops. Also, you now add that the crane 'comes with about 80t of counter weigh'. With 80t of counter weighTs, surely that makes the crane's weight 140t ? The only thing you could correct me on here is the typo where i put 56t crane instead of 60t crane. Anyway. As I have said, i was merely tying to point out how dangerous it was for these guys to walk underneath the crane. Would you have done the same?
@vxss6slot Thanks very much for your advice. Having now been able to re-read the title of the video, I can confirm that it still says "265ton crane lifting 1 more 265ton". In my books this is telling me the crane weighs 265t. You corrected me the other day and told me it weighs 60t, or as you eloquently put it "lifting capacity is 265t, the crane weights 60t". So the origin of the 60t is YOU. You are arguing semantics with me and ignorong the point of my message. Workmen taking stupid risk
@vxss6slot h silly me. There was me assuming that the title of the video would be accurate. Surely it should be 56tonne crane lifting another 60t crane? And the point I was making was that whether its 1t, 60t or 265 tonnes, a hard hat is not going to save you if it falls on your head.
they have things called tripods nowadays... they keep the camera steady and make it easier to watch. WTF are all these guys standing underneath the lifted crane for? Will their hard hats protect them if the 265 ton vehicle falls? Meh.
@creeclanwarrior69 i was thinking about the same thing. i never get anywhere close to heavy machinery like this though, i'm just a car mechanic, so i understand a bit.
@windowspiratato LOL, gotta love the Rediculous ideas by Exibit...... did u see where he put a damn pottry wheel in some hoes car under her seat!?? like WTF
@creeclanwarrior69 I think maybe he's farther on the other side than the one dimensional camera can detect. At any rate he was standing a lot closer than I would want to. Pretty much if something gave way I think all of those men in the pit would have a a good likelihood of being hurt or killed.
u guys suck that bad man just having a go at me for pointing out stupidity try watching some tv programs and see all the dangerous riggers hanging out under 1000 ton plus loads and then try and tell me that im wrong and the next person who calls me a liar better be able to back it up with out chaining the subject (hydraulics lines) u know who u r
you dipshit! Yeah that line could have held the earth in the air but there are soo many more problems that crane could have had while he was walking under that load. Think safety man! This is why happens when u get to comfy in the jobsite! Then an accident happens
i think you should all lay off the caffeine i have worked on sites all my life with bigger loads than that floating around and theres a very slim chance of any thing going wrong with a lift like that the lines they use are designed to take twice the load that is being lifted there the chance that the line would break is like a billion to one and what is all this about tag lines i guess i know why u where only a rigger for a few years lol sucks to be u and your opinion
This is becuase the camera he is using is old, and does not have the anti-shake tech that you and others just take for granted...and probably don't even realise exists and just think you are an awesome cameraman.

@Synetearis LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO creative answer.......
why was the crane boom extended? would be an easier lift if it was retracted surely?
nice one of the operator,to keep his extra plus during tha crane test, good operator nice one matey

@creeclanwarrior69 as if, that guy has a hard hat on, that little crane will just bounce off that and he will come out unscathed.
salve a elevação de cargas. diga sim ao trabalho seguro
vídeo interessante, salve a moveimentação de cargas!!!
But he's so excited by da crane thingy!

it look's like a toy
if crane will lift crane, and lifted crane would lift other crane, and crane lifted by lifted crane would lift crane, would it reach moon?
yeah! go under it !!! LOL
@2009European the crane don't weigh 265 ton, that is the lifting capacity of the crane, there posting is correct
@creeclanwarrior69 totally agree dude... you would get booted offsite if you were in Australia... probly loose any relevant tickets too..
well at least he's got his hard hat on!!!
@partypack1 he was afraid of crane ;)
@2009European he means the capacity
you dipshit! Yeah that line could have held the earth in the air but there are soo many more problems that crane could have had while he was walking under that load. Think safety man! This is why happens when u get to comfy in the jobsite! Then an accident happens

that guy in white t-shirt is very idiot ..... if cable is broken it would fall on him and get killed
cant say we've everpicked up another crane lol but have picked up 200 ft man lifts and others from inside buildins and tanks
they lifted out of the hole there in the very beginning up and over the wall by the lifting crane and onto the ground
The yellow cab guy is a looney!
Man, that guy standing in the corner is nuts! Naw, plain dumb. I'm surprised they made the life with him standing there for so long.
What was the purpose ?!
love the underside view!
safety last
are you thinking it's a 220 tonne? (metric conversion to imperial would make it 265 ton)
Pasadena, Ca...Seismic center of the world.
most likely he didnt understand english
The Tard in the white shirt is changing the oil while they have it up. Just can't afford to waste any moment of time you know.
Looks like Michael J Fox was filming this
