No, only remove the window regulator motor (3 Torx T25), once the motor is removed, you can now slide the glass up or down to remove the (2 Torx T30), then remove the glass.

@@xiaoqiangbian1552 About half a quart of coolant at most. Coolant can flow into the oil channels during removal, but super minimal, so no worries there. Doing an oil change afterward is a good idea aswell.

Hi, this transmission has a ATF (automatic transmission fluid) side, and an MTF (manual transmission fluid) side. You most likely drained out the MTF side. If you have a picture, that would help :)

Yes, some swivel spark plug socket would make the job super easier. amzn.to/3B9SkXz (amazon affiliate link). I used what I had at that time, a 3 inch spark plug socket, connected to a 4inch locking extension and another 4 inch extension for one of the cylinder. Remember, you can never have too much tools :) have fun

If you are sure it is leaking from the gasket, then I would try an OEM audi gasket from the dealership. Make sure the correct bolts are used as the lower ones are longer than the uppers. The plastic upper timing cover, and the camshaft girdle (valve cover) can leak and drip down onto the gasket aswell. Also, try using oil dye with UV glasses to pin point leakage.

Yes, it can be done. Many techs said they have done this service without a scan tool all the time without any issues. I did not believe them, and I have tested out for myself. 3.2-3.5 quarts came out without using any scan tool, which is perfect as the prefill is 3.5 quarts. Do not put in more than 3.5 quarts as it may overflow into the MTF (manual transmission fluid) side.

Glad you like it. The rear drains (specifically the left rear) are known to total loss vehicles as water intrudes inside the cabin and corrodes the J393 comfort modules/fuse box. Depending on the damage, this can be 30+ hours of labor for replacing all pins, modules, etc...

I have access to the factory audi scantool. There is a drain and fill test plan under the transmission control module. VCDS should have somthing similar. The G055529A2 for the DCT transmission is correct. The test plan basically unlocks the Mechatronic pressure pump, allowing more fluid to be drained out and not allowing ATF fluid to overflow the the MTF side of the transmission. Overall, these transmissions are quite robust as they do not fail too often.
