Not to be mean or anything but I hated the way Jace treated Alec in season one like Simon wasn’t wrong when he said Jace treated Alec like his lapdog and every little thing Alec did wrong he pointed out. Like Alec has it so bad in this show like is family especially his mother treated him badly like I don’t blame Alec for feeling like his good was never good enough but throughout the books/show his and Jaces bond changed and grew like Alec found Magnus and grew to feel more comfortable with Jace and they became real brothers

This is simply beautiful. I truly love their relationship. It’s funny, there are so many people, and I used to be one, who thought that Jace treated Alec terribly at the beginning of the series but in going back and rewatching and from reading the books, I no longer think that. It’s clear from the beginning of the show how much Jace cared for Alec, and how much he valued their bond. But we saw so much of it from Alec’s point of view, that we felt more for him. We saw the hurt he felt from Jace falling for Clary, though Jace was never aware of that, not really. I truly came to believe this when Alec fell and began his relationship with Magnus, because then Jace and Alec’s relationship evened out. Jace was no longer hurting Alec like he had, but Jace’s behaviour had not changed, only Alec’s. I say all this, with Alec being my favourite character and I used to al,ost hate Jace for the pain he caused him but understand now that you can’t protect someone from their own feelings and Jace couldn’t protect Alec from his, even if he did have some awareness of them, which I am not sure he did.

Fuck! this is so GOOD! I absolutely loved the show, but i wished there had been even more parabatai moments. Season 1 has a good amount. I loved whenever Jace would defend Alec or talk about their parabatai bond. So proud of it, he loves Alec so SO much, it's beautiful. Not in the way Alec would have liked for many years but still loved him tons
