Moved away decades ago and the last time I was in town, they were tearing down the Dodge plant. Certainly has changed, though I can't believe Doc Pierce's is still there. My grandmother worked at Ball-Band. Good marketing effort.

I live right by the Riverwalk on the Southside near Kamm Island and The Mill. I love living where I do.

I travel to south bend lots of relatives there being there on a sad occasion our aunt passed she was 104.years old the lofts hotel I loved it really nice they was clean and it's beautiful reminds me of downtown Memphis TN

I used to enjoy going to the Wander Inn on Main st. 35c burgers, 35c draft, and same for fries. Mishawaka back when was a great city to live in. Not so much anymore. It still beats the heck out of living in So.Bend. The surrounding suburbs of both cities are a different story. Y'all can keep the snow. Moved from So.Bend in '97.Moved to So.Metro Atlanta. Had 48 years of that weather.

I was born in South Bend. Lived there until I was 10. The only downtown eatery that I remember is Holloway House, between Colfax and Washington. I don't remember the Philadelphia at all. Went to the movies at the State and Granada Theaters. My mother worked at the American Trust Company up until she had me.

I am moving here for law school! Very excited.

Mishawaka is a lot safer than the city of South Bend. A whole different world between the two cities. All the major shopping is in Mishawaka for the country of St. Joseph, Indiana.

Love Jacks donuts.. addicting but you can walk it off at the river walk 😂 beautiful area!

I was born in South Bend. I live there until health require my family had to move to South Carolina. I have been back twice to South Bend last time was in 1988.

I called it Mishakawa on a Quora question asking about neighborhoods to live in and someone went off on me and told me they did not want any more ignoramous people 😆🤦🏻‍♀️ I never heard of the city until 2 days prior to my question. My husband and I have never been but he got a job there, so we are moving with no notion of what the area is like. An adventure to say the least 💖 Thanks for making these videos, it’s helping ease my mind 😁

Up north is where the rich people live other divisions are very unique we’re talking about million dollar homes there too

i lived in south bend from 2005-07. it was NOT this nice back then. i hope to get back there for an overnight stay sometime. it seems like a pretty nice place now! :)

Clearly, South Bend's downtown is evolving. Filling in all those parking lots with interesting mix-used development would create a needed intimacy and character which parking lots can never offer. South Bend like other American cities should look to European cities for inspiration and ideas. I am watching from Middelburg, the Netherlands.
