I did not know there was a bleed nut by the thermostat also, thank you

I had a buick century with the 3.1 which is the same as the 3.4 and the temperature sending unit wasn't telling the radiator fan to come on until the car would overheat. Took a little bit to figure out and changed the thermostat also. Really annoying. These engines have an iron block and aluminum heads so they had overheating issues.

I guess I'ma try to go get that left bleeder screw, i had one but my dad insisted on working on it while i was at work and he broke it. If that doesn't work i don't know what to do

Dorman makes one. I replaced my thermostat housing with one from Motorad which came with a new bleeder and so I now have a spare. Unfortunately, my replacement takes an 8mm wrench to bleed so I need a different wrench on each side!

Replaced thermostat today in my daughter's 2004 Impala. Good lord it takes a long time to get all the air out! Took twice as long to bleed the air out as it did to change out the thermostat.

I am going to try to be fast. I do not have the money to take my car to a shop. I have a '04 Impala. Has been overheating for a while. I am going to blow it up if I can't find help. I have had the radiator flushed, checked the fans, had 3 relays changed, replaced a coolant sending unit. Plz bare with me, I don't know a lot about cars. The guys says he checked for it to be vapor locked. The car will show it is buried in the read. But no steam or smoke comes from under the hood. Nothing is leaking on the ground when you add coolant. But it is using a lot of coolant. Any advice will be welcome and appreciated more than you know. This is the only car I have. And if it brakes down. I am in trouble. I have no family or anyone that could help me . Thank you..

Open the bleeders when filling the system, much quicker than this method. I used to think that was how you bleed the system too but its not.
